I am hooking up a new GE downdraft cooktop. 4 wire to 3 wire.
The wires from the junction box that the previous GE downdraft cooktop were hooked to are (Black, White, and Bare). The new GE instructions do not list anyway to hook to these. The new cooktop has Black, Red, White, Green. Please tell me that my issue is different than the other one I saw posted on here and it will work. I am hoping I can connect the Black to Black, the White to Red, and the Bare to White and Green?
My circuit cable says: E30445 (UL) AWG10 CU 2CDR WITH AWG 10 GROUND TYPE UF-B 600 VOLTS

    Thanks in advance!
