    Chronic bv
Ok So I have been experiencing a musty odor after I bathe. I've seen my gyn and she tested me for bv and my results come out negative. What's wrong with me? I started using peroxide thinking it will kill the bad bacteria. I've been on boric acid suppository. I take acidophilis. As a child I was on antibotics for tonsils all the time until two years ago I got them removed. Wondering if I removed a lot of good bacteria from that. I'm 32 now suffering from this. I guess I noticed the smell when I was 15 years old and not sexually active. Also I notice when I shave I have less of a smell. But isn't that why we have pubic hair to prevent things from coming in?

They also have cleaners specifically made for your down south area, including wipes, soaps, sprays, and creams. Using other chemicals there that aren't meant to be used down there can actually make it worse. Using peroxide won't only kill the bad bacteria, it will kill the good bacteria. Also, talk to your gyno about it, and ask if any of the medication you are taking could cause it. Also, pubic hair does prevent things from coming in, but it also keeps the vagina warm. Bacteria grows in warm climates and might cling to the base of the hairs. When you have removed your pubic hair, it is airing it out a little, and the bacteria has nothing to stick to.
