May I ask the purpose of the question, you seem to have well defined questions about washers and dryers ? Are you taking some sort of home study course ?

If this is home work, our group of experts will be glad to "help" you, but we expect you to read your assignment and give us your idea of the answer first, and then we help you with that.

Also remember that you get "real life answers" not book answer and if this is for a grade, we could be telling you not what the teacher wants

Tub draining into washing machine? [ 2 Answers ]

Hi! My front load washing machine occasionally has water (1-2 gallons) in it even though it has not been in use. I suspect the bathroom shower/tub upstairs may somehow be leaking water (draining) into the machine when it receives heavy use. Is this even possible and who should I call, a plumber...
