My kenmore washing machine will not complete the wash cycle without slaming the lid
To get the washing machine to wash I most often have to slam the lid closed several times.

You need to replace the lid switch as it sounds faulty. This is a safety device so that you can't just lift the lid up during spin cycle. Easy to replace.

None that I know of except this site will show you where it's located.

Appliance Parts Pros.com Discount Appliance Parts ? Appliance Repair Parts

Put your model number in the search engine on the site and it will show you a schematic drawing of your machine.

I use this site all the time for appliance parts.

During a wash cycle, lift the lid and see if there is a small slot 1/4 X 1/4 or so under the lid on the top of the washer. The washer should have stopped. Push a small blade screwdriver into the slot. If start up is erratic or you need to push far down, the switch is bad. The washer top, on most models, can be popped up and the switch is under the slot. Not a hard fix.

I have an old Kenmore 80 Washer and 9 times out of 10 it gets stuck in the wash cycle. It will go on for hours if we don't stop it and turn it knob manually. Regular, permanent press and delicate settings all have the same problem. Is the Timer the only thing that can cause this problem?...

Kenmore series 80 heavy duty top loader will not cycle properly, it will stop after the washing cycle and we have to reset the timer knob (pull out then push in) to start it again. Could it be the timer (bad switch)? Once we do that it will go into it's next cyle OK.

Kenmore washing machine spin cycle [ 2 Answers ]

My Kenmore washer will go through the wash cylce but when it reaches the spin cycle the water will drain out but will not spin out. I did replace the motor isolation cupling, but that did not take care of the problem. I'm thinking that the control magnet could be the culprit. Any thoughts?? LAJ
