This is a Q&A web site that is visible to anyone in the world who is a member of it. We have no private rooms for consultations.

Can you tell us unconfidential parts? Perhaps we can guide you from those.

May I ask, protect from what? Physical or emotional harm?

Are you an in-law or an aunt?

Can you give us any more information without revealing names, etc.

    You're in the UK?

I'll PM some legal experts. I'm not a lawyer, but hoped I could obtain more info from you for others to understand better. Thank you for that. If you can tell us any more, that would be wonderful.

I don't know if any British solicitors regularly frequent this forum. So it's unlikely that you will get an answer from one here.

But from an American perspective, I would say that you and your half sister appear to have been involved in some sort of legal action involving a trial. Were you and your sister witnesses or defendants? Do you believe that the two of you were deprived of rights and unfairly treated, or was it a third party (criminal defendant perhaps) whose rights you are concerned about?

I doubt if there is an avenue for you or your sister to pursue, personally, in the courts, other than some sort of restraining order against that person. Check into the possibility of getting a restraining order.

I PMed for help. Often the legal experts don't come on site until the evening. If you don't get some advice soon, please check back later or tomorrow (it's maybe 8:30 your time?). I'll keep an eye on this question.

Is there some way you can warn this young girl without scaring her, so she has her defenses ready?

What does that mean -- "she's a girl"? She's stupid or weak or clueless?
