    Hot inducer fan...
I have a Coleman high efficiency furnace (5 yrs old.) that has ran well until this winter. My first problem was that the furnace indicated that the limit switch was open. I took it out, cleaned it, and then tested it (works). I put it back in and the furnace worked well for a couple of days. Then the furnace indicated that the inducer limit switch was open. I took this out and tested it and it failed. I purchased and installed the new switch and the furnace runs well except for the inducer motor getting hot. It may have been getting hot before I replaced switch but I didn't notice. I turned the furnace off in fear of it seizing up or something like that. I think I can get a new motor for around $200 but I would rather try to fix this one first since it still runs. How do I oil the motor and where do I put the oil exactly? How hot is the motor supposed to get? Is there anything else I can do to the motor besides oiling it?
Thank you so much for any help!

I've been told the inducer motor on my Goodman furnace has burned out because 'the cooling fan is missing". Does anyone know if this is a legit diagnosis? I didn't even know there was a cooling fan for the inducer motor on furnaces.

Forced hot air issue (Draft inducer fan) [ 1 Answers ]

My draft inducer fan is running for about 3 minutes before the furnace ignites. Once it ignites, the furnace is operating correctly. This seems to be longer than normal. Any ideas on what's wrong, or what I need to check/test? Thanks!
