I am trying to get my niece's young baby. When I drove to South Carolina to get the two of them she did not have a car seat for the baby. I bought a carseat and took it with me so that the baby had one. I had to wait 6 hours for her to get there. She was staying with me in PA for a month and a half with her baby and has since hopped on a bus back to GA. I am very concerned about hers and the babies welfare. She has no job, no stable home, no education, and the place where she is staying, they do drugs and drink alcohol. While with me she did not bathe the baby, that was left for me to do. She would stay up all hours on the phone and would not get up with the baby. When the baby waked in the night she would get a bottle and prop it in the bed with a blanket, not changing the babies diaper or making sure she would not choke. I would get the baby up with me at 5:00 a.m. and bathe her and dress her for the day. I would buy the diapers, formula, food, and anything else that the baby needed. She would go to her grandparents to stay while with me and leave the baby with me, she would very seldom take the baby with her. She would stay there for a couple of nights and not call to see how the baby was doing or to let me know when she was coming back. When she left to go back to GA she did not take the carseat or anything that I had bought for the baby. She left with half a can of formula, 10 diapers, and 2 outfits. I fear for this child and would like to gain guardianship or full custody of her. She is now 5 months old.
