    Adoption
    I have a 19month old and her father committed suicide when I was 3months pregnant for her and I am the only one on the birthcertificate and I want to know how to go about my fiancé adopting her. We live in Louisiana and I do not now how to go about it?

    If the birth father is deceased then you and your HUSBAND file to adopt her. You cannot adopt in Louisiana if you are not married.

    You will need an attorney to properly prepare the paperwork. Start shopping around now for an attorney, so you will be reasy when you qualify.
