    My apartment manager left a notice on my door yesterday saying that my rent was late
    And I had till the 9th to pay or move. They added a stipulation that I have to come down to their office in person to pay with a money order or cashiers check.. They left this notice on the first of the month. It states in my lease I have till the 4th to pay rent. My rent has never been late, my check has never bounced, and there are no issues with too loud, damaged property or anything like that. My issue is that I am in Utah until the 7th and am unable to get to their office before they start charging me a late fee. I already put my check in the drop box. Can they legally evict me for not coming down in person to pay the rent? My lease is not up till next month..

    Rent is due ( I will assume) on the 1st, and late by your lease on the 4th,
    They may give you notice you are late, if it is not paid on the day listed.

    When did you put it in the "drop box"

    Yes rent is due on the first and late by the 4th. Check went in the box on the night of the 31st. Im just not sure why they would give me a late notice on the first especially seeing as my check was already in. The apartment policy states that this

    Hello sm:

    If you paid, and they can't find your check, you're late. But, NO, they can't evict you if you don't show up in person.
