    Yesterday I found a notice of trustees sale pot on my home that I rent
    Help! My landlord didn't tell me the home that I was leasing with the option t buy in six months, was in the process of foreclosure, found a letter from the court house on my door yesterday, saying that e home is scheduled for auction saleon feb 7th 2008, if no ryply from landlord, meanwhile I am un sure of what to do, my do I hae any rights as a renters? Should I pay my rent as scheduled on feb 1st? Please help? I have heard some horrible stories about renters bieng locked out of forcosed homes, I don't want this to happen to me , please help

    Well I would not pay the rent for Feb, since the other owner will not own it past Feb 7, ( unless they pay all the money due) once it is sold, you will not be locked out, but the buyer will give you from a 3 day to a 30 day notice to get out. But you need to let the landlord know that this sale has him in default of the lease and you will be moving. And I would ( if I was you) plan to be out by the sale date.

    Also another issue, if this was a rent with option to buy, and if any of the money you were to pay was to be applied to that payment, you may have a law suit against them for defaluting on your contract.

    Also in some areas, you can sue the landlord for cost of moving,

    Now on the other hand, if they are losing this house, most likely they don't have any money to pay you if you do win the law suit
