Hampton Bay Ceiling Fan w/ Remote - Uncontrollable Features
We have a Hampton Ceiling Fan with a Remote in our bedroom. It does not have any pull chains on it. When I go to bed I put the fan on low. In the middle of the night it speeds up to high and I have to push the remote on Low. In a few minutes it speeds back up and I have to continuously push low. Additionally, the light continues to go on and I have to turn it off on the remote, a few minutes later it comes back on. I repeat this until the early hours and finally give up and turn off the whole unit on the wall switch. If I turn it off with the remote, it will pop back on! It is like a ghost has taken over. Has anyone had this happen?? Is the fan a total loss? I tried changing the battery in the remote, but it didn't help. It did the same thing! PLEASE HELP!! We have had this fan for 2 1/2 years with no problems till now!!
