    Where? What Country?

Four times in four different stores? I wouldn't be surprised if you did jail time.

Once in one store, probation and a fine. Four times - I doubt it.

I see a good possibility you will get jail time.

That will be up to the judge that handles your case. You can ask for a lighter sentence since it's a first offense, but it's really up to them.

    I honestly don't see this with four arrests - this isn't a first offense. This is offense #1 - plus offenses #2, #3, #4.

    I must've misunderstood.

She can still ask for leniency. It's just not likely to happen.

She can ask for anything, of course, but in my experience it is not going to happen. OP's best bet is put himself/herself in some sort of counselling (without Court Order) and absolutely be apologetic and sorry.

I still don't think the Court will be easy on these charges - this is a pattern, a lifestyle, not one or two events some time apart.

I want to know what suddenly made someone who claims to have never shoplifted before decide to steal from FOUR separate stores. It just doesn't make sense.

I don't know how often you post on the legal threads, read them or how much experience you have in the legal field.

The truth usually comes out in stages - I'm sure the answer to your question is that this is the first time the OP has been caught, not the first time the OP has shoplifted.

On these threads (at least) the "habit" gets larger and larger and the shoplifter gets bolder and bolder.

So I doubt this law abiding citizen suddenly went beserk and began to steal - 4 times in one day, one right after another. I suspect the 4 charges occurred on different days.

    - only a suspicion, of course.

It is my first time shoplifting, but I've always been with friends that do it, I always told them it's a bad idea but I would see them with stuff they would steal and nothing would ever happen to them, I lost my mind and decided to do it , I don't have any excuses it was stupid of me, and at the end I got caught.
I have no idea how the legal field works, I will get a lawyer and he/she should help me out

I did take stuff from 4 stores but when they caught me I gave everything back from every store, they force me or ask , once the security asked me to put what I didn't pay for on the table I did

Whether you put it back or not matters little and, yes, an Attorney will give you the best advice.
