95 civic very weak spark from cap #4 big blue from 1,2&3
This is a 98 civic ex with a 95 jdm d15b with orig p2p ecu and I think all orig d15b under the hood. Im in AL so it doesn't get too cold far as outside temps. Out of all the potential headaches with this car I think main one right now is that Ive found that # 4 has a very weak spark coming from the cap. Pull off 1,2,3 and it shoots fire out of the cap but #4 is barely making fire when wire is almost touching cap metal, can't see spark but barely hear it when almost bottomed out in cap. Seems to run a lot better when cold but when heated up misses while stting still much worse trying to go down the road.I have replaced plugs, rotor and cap recently with really no change, switched wires around and 4 is still not doing well. It sputtters on take off badly and will barely run down the road now. Im going to look under cap to look for obvious problems, just changed rotor and it was orig jdm PC I suppose, didn't have a screw through it but shaft was threaded so I got 95 1.5 USA part. Thanks for any help to narrow it down...

Replace the Ignition Control Module (ICM) and coil:

The way you are testing for spark is not the proper way. It overstresses the coil and leads to failure.

It turned out to be old cracking insulation on the coil wires and spark jumping to ground. Running fine taped for now.
