Theft over 5000 in ontario (first offense)
I am 22 years old. I had stolen just over $5000 worth of merchandise from my workplace. I was questioned by someone from the company, I fully cooperated with them, returned what I had left of the merchandise and signed a paper saying I would pay them back and full and have started to do so. This is my first offense I have never been in trouble with the law before. Last week I found out my girlfriend is pregnant as well. I am just wondering what kind of punishment I am looking at and will the judge take my personal matters into consideration?

No the judge willl not take the personal things of girlfriend pregnant into it.

Your first and biggest mistake was of course confessing before you had an attorney who could work a deal out for you.

It is just up to jury or judge at this point and time, it is possible to get probation but jail time is not out of the question either.
