    need to balance this
    The thing is I need to balance the equation. Bare with me, english is not my native language

    It is a redox reaction

    IO3 +H2O ---->>> I2 + OH

    been fighting with it for ages. Can't balance it. Please help

    this won't balance as written.

    iodate can be converted to iodine using bisulfite... are there other equations you were given? Is this for a lab?

    you will never be able to balance the eq using those reagents alone. Explain what you are doing.

    Need to reduce iodine from (+5) state to (0) state for this to take place
