Recently I discovered my organization in Georgia did not have a recorded warranty deed to property on land it has held meetings on for 86 years. What steps need to be taken to generate a warranty deed in its name? Can we generate affidavits of ownership to establish ownership to generate a warranty deed or should we pay 1300 for title insurance.

You need to provide a little more information if you want to know how to resolve this issue yourself. How did your organization originally obtain the property? Are there any existing documents that show ownership?

The absolute best way to handle this is to go to a title company, have a search performed and take whatever steps they require to obtain a title insurance policy that doesn't contain exceptions.
