    Garnishment Laws in Georgia
I had a credit card before I got married. I made a few payments on it and then got in a tight. I have not heard from the company since 2000. My question is, "Since we were not married when this debt was incurred, can they take all the money that is in our account? If the money is from his payroll check, can they take all or just a portion? One more thing, what is the statue of limitations for collection on credit cards?

    Oh, forgot to mention
I forgot to mention that we just deposited my husband's pay check into the account that is being garnished. This has left us with absolutely no money to provide for our five children. Thank God for church family giving us food to get by a few days.
