    Furnace Ducting
Can anyone give me some information on hot air furnace ducting? My questions are, how far from an outside wall should your ducting be? Is there as specific insulation that needs to be used when running it along an outside wall, I live in Calgary Canada and it can get quite cold during the winter months. Thanks in advance for all of the information.

I would call your local building department to check for local requirements for the area you are in.

I would suggest insulated ducting. I do not believe that there is a code for the actual placement of heat ducting but checking with a local building authority wouldn't be a bad idea. AS to insulation behind the ducting against an outside wall, I would shot for the highest R value that would fit without compression.
