Early perimenopause signs or pregnancy symptoms?
I am 35 and I have an ovarian cyst in my left ovary. I also have a small micro andenoma. I had some spotting day 16-20 of my cycle and I did have unprotected sex around that time. Then I had a small drop of blood when I wiped on the 22 day of my cycle. I tested three days before my period was due and it was negative. My period is now three days late. I tried testing again in the middle of the day yesterday but I had a lot to drink prior(water and coffee) and that was also negative for pregnancy. I have been feeling very hot lately and when I take my temp I am usually running a fever of 99 by 1 o'clock in the afternoon and my temp just stays high all night. I have been feeling sick to my stomach but I do not throw up-however this maybe due to my ovarian cyst. My breasts are swollen by at least 1 inch and the nipples really hurt also I developed a small cyst on the bottom of each breast one even ruptured. I am constantly tired, keep feeling like crying, having trouble eating having weird food cravings and also aversions and my sex drive has really increased. Two nights ago after my period was late we had sex and then we noticed I had a thick creamy white discharge. I have noticed I am wet down there a lot but usually it seems clear. My periods have been irregular lately last month it came on the 32 day the month before that on the 42nd day. My last period was July 2. Tomorrow I go see the gyn about my ovarian cyst she will probablky run a pregnancy test but do these sound like pregnancy symptoms or just perimenopause? Thanks;)

It's a bit early for peri menopause. Best thing is to speak to the doctor - it seems as if you have an array of symptoms that could be a range of things. The doctor will put your mind at ease and be much more able to make a diagnosis than anyone of this Forum. Good luck.

Perimenopause is not common at your age, but your doctor will tell for sure.

The best time to take a pregnancy test is first thing when you wake up. That way, your urine is NOT diluted, but very concentrated with any Hcg that may be in your system.
    I'd try testing again...

    Good luck

I saw my gyn yesterday and I really do not like her very much. She did'nt even do a pregnancy test and did'nt seem concerned at all that my period was late. I also have developed these cyst like things in each breast. And one has ruptured and became infected. It's my own fault I had been squeezing it. So I showed my breasts to my doctor and she said they were skin boils and diagnosed me with cellultis which I guess is a skin infection. She put me on some antiboitics and wants to see me back next week. But the part that makes me mad is that she says I have high blood pressure every time I see her and she does not want to prescribe any birth control pills to help my ovarian cyst until I go see my regular doctor and get my blood pressure under control. It was 140 over 90 yesterday. I think it is only high in the gyn office because I really dislike my doctor and it stresses me out to see her. I would find another gyn if I could but I only have medicare and medicaid-it's hard to find a gyn that will accept my insurance. I did a first response test today using fmu and it was negative so I just do not know maybe my period late because of the infection in my breasts?

If I do not get my period in a week-or in six days-i do have an appointment with my regular doctor-general practictioner-and I will ask her to do a pregnancy urine test or maybe a blood serum test. Can't help feeling like I am having pregnancy symptoms but every month I think that and wind up eventually getting my period.it feels like we will not get pregnant. But I am seeing an endocranologist who is supposed to be helping us with this issue-I do have that microandenoma so maybe it is a hormonal issue?

Still no period could it be late because of illness or stress or being overweight? Should I be concerned this is the 38th day of my cycle and no period...

Certainly sounds hormone related... especially since you have had several irregular cycles. For some women stress, illness, and weight issues can also play a role, but see what results you get from the blood work when you see your gp.

You might still want to have things checked out... but since you are seeing an endocrinologist hopefully that will help you find some answers.

This is very light bleeding almost like spotting but the same thing happened last month and I went to the ER - I was diagnosed with irregular vaginal bleeding. Last month I kept running a fever on and off. That's what's happening today too I get very hot and then I have the chills my temp runs between 98.3-101.0 F- If this period winds up being shorter then normal do I need another pregnancy test? I mean I took five hpts all negative!

I was told at 35 you are not too young for peri-menopause. I was 39 when mine started - just a few years older than you. I skipped periods for months at a time. Always had trouble with my periods in the opposite way - came like 23 to 25 days every month. So my surprise that at 39 they started to come further apart. I thought I was pregnant too so went to the doctor, took a blood test and was told peri-menopause. Good Luck.
