Im currently in a relationship, but a friend is trying to split us up.
My girlfriend and I have been together for a couple of months now and all is going great, apart from a mutual "friend" who keeps trying to split us up, this "friend" keeps saying to my girlfriend that I'm cheating on her and texting my ex-girlfriend behind her back.
This "friend" is the one who set us up in the first place and she has been trying to split us up for a few weeks now and on a few occasions came scarily close to doing it.
My girlfriend is slowly believing more and more of what this " friend" is saying and I'm trying my hardest to show her that I'm honest and not cheating on her and that she is the only one I love.
This is really starting to become a problem and is coming between me and my girlfriend, I just need some help if anyone has any ideas or advice I am more than happy to listen.

Have you asked your "friend" why they are doing this?

Is there a reason this "friend" got the two of you together and is now trying to split you up?

What does your "friend" have to gain from all this? Are they jealous?

I haven't said anything to the "friend" yet.

It may be jealousy as I had a crush on this girl for 2 years a while back and since then she hasn't let me settle down and be happy with another girl as she gets no attention from me anymore.

    Hmmm I see...

But then the question is why did she set you up with your current girlfriend if she didn't want you to be happy with her?

Seems like this girl is trying to break you up with your girl to crush you, and when you are down, she will "comfort" you and "be there for you"... hoping you will start to have feelings for her.

It might be best for you to tell this "friend" to stop doing this because you love your girlfriend and if she is really your friend, she wouldn't be trying to hurt you. If she doesn't stop, explain to your girlfriend why you think this "friend" is telling her bad stuff about you. Hopefully she understands...

    Good luck

That makes a lot of sense, me and my girlfriend are starting to shut this "friend" out slowly and then we'll just stop speaking with her and she'll give up hopefully.

    Thanks :)

No worries... glad to hear your girlfriend is on your side and trusts and believes you. That's always important.

It sucks when "friends" do this to you, but then you know they weren't really a friend at all. Good luck :)

I had been hooking up with this girl for 2 weeks and we started to get a little more into it. She has been horribly traumatized by a guy in the past and when she started to feel like she really liked me, she decided that I could potentially hurt her. She told me she doesn't want to hook up...

This is going to sound weird to some. In fact I know I'll get judged for it, but oh well...
