    Wiring Programmable Thermostat
    Hello,

I have a Carrier single stage heat pump and I want to update the thermostat to a programmable format. When disconnecting the existing thermostat (which has been working) there is O (orange), G (green) 1, 2 (red wire jumped together), Y1 (red), and W & Y (both are attached to the same wire with a little hump like crimp in wire). I am having a difficult time determining what to do with the yellow wire which has been attached to both W & Y. I am trying to use a Hunter touchscreen programmable thermostat model #44860. In the previous sustem there was a blue, brown, and white wire that was not attached to anything just wrapped together.
