    Wiring my programmable thermostat
    HELP...

I recently had an issue with the fan on my HVAC system constantly blowing. I assume I had a defective thermostat. When reinstalling a new thermostat I can get either heat or air not both. I wire the white to white green to green yellow to yellow red to RH and blue to RC.

On my previous thermostat they did not have an RH or RC label... I had white, yellow, green, red, and the blue was connected to a "c" connection. I am going absolutely nuts trying to figure this out. I switched the red and blue connections and was able to get the air to work but not heat, and visa-versa the other way and I got heat but no air.

My old thermostat was not a programmable one like the new one if that makes a difference. Now after screwing around I can't get anything to work!!

    Please help me...

Without seeing how you are wired at the air handler, Remove the blue wire and put red on RC and jumper to RH
