    Removing a hampton bay fan
Iam trying to remove a home owner installed hampton bay ceiling fan and cannot figure out how to remove the housing that conceals the ceiling mounting bracket. Normally there are screws that when loosened the housing can be removed exposing the wiring, mounting bracket, and outlet box. This unit has no screws, but there appears to be some kind of locking ring holding it in place and I cannot figure out how to remove it.

The locking ring simply covers the screws. Twist it and pull off and you will have access to the screws.
