    Hard drive
    Hi all
    I recently brought a hard drive of Ebb it is a SAMSUNG SPINPOINT V60 SERIES 80 GIG
    But when I was installing it it only showed 31.5 gig . I had to format it so no other files are on the drive . I have cheeked in every were but it will only show 31.5 gig when I went to format the drive the only option was 31.5 gig any help would be much appreciated

    Did you turn on LBA (Large Block Addressing) when you partitioned or formatted?

    Like I said, its done during the partitioning or formatting. Been a while since I formatted a drive so I forget which. I think its during the partitioning.

    There is a possibility your computer does not support beyond a certain capacity , say 40GB. Plaese Check in BIOS what capacity it shows.To go to bios press F2 key or del key.If you are using windows XP you can check in computer management what is the capacity of hard disk as seen by OS
