Did you turn on LBA (Large Block Addressing) when you partitioned or formatted?

Like I said, its done during the partitioning or formatting. Been a while since I formatted a drive so I forget which. I think its during the partitioning.

There is a possibility your computer does not support beyond a certain capacity , say 40GB. Plaese Check in BIOS what capacity it shows. To go to bios press F2 key or del key.If you are using windows XP you can check in computer management what is the capacity of hard disk as seen by OS
