2 wire tstat
How do I wire a 2 wire tstat to a bryant heat pump! Can I us a jumper to make the cooling part work! Thank you

There is no way you can wire a heapump with less the 5 wires.

You mean you only have 2 wires at the outdoor unit? Or 2 wires at your t-stat? If you have 5 at the stat and 2 outside you can get it to work. With just a little wire changing.

Yes sir,like you said I have 5 wire's at the t-stat,but only 2wire's run's outside to the heat pump, I hooked the white wire to the (c) and the red wire to the (y) and the unit did come on but it was running on the heat side. I am using for cooling only, so could you tell me how to wire it so the cooling part will work. The unit has a c,y,r,e,w1,o,w2,w3, were do I need to jump it at? Thank you so much for your help!

If this does not work you may need to bypass the defrost control board.

The unit has C,Y,R,E,W1,O,W2,W3 on the t-stat control borad! So your saying to connect the white wire to the C and the red wire to the Y and put a jumper to the O on the control board! Will that reverse the cycle from heating to cooling?

Joshdta,I wonna thank you for helping me out and I appreate it very muck because it was driving me crazy and I was all over the net trying to find a way to make it work with out having to do a lot of extra work. I am replacing a Robertshaw 9520 TSTAT with a Carrier TSTATCCREC01. The current wiring on 9520 goes to these terminals. W2 has only a jumper.

Y1,
O,
G,
E,
C,
And a jumper from W2 to E.
