    Most halogen accent lights are small, low-voltage lamps. They attach to the bottom of countertops or shelves either with small screws or they stick on with double-sided tape or some similar adhesive.

    You need to route the wires so that they aren't very visible. This will probably involve drilling small holes in the cabinets. Eventually, the wires are routed to a small transformer that plugs into the wall.
