Small skin coloured bump inside vagina, what is it?
I have been experiencing a irritating feeling in my vagina now for a few days. I checked myself and there's a small clear bump inside the opening. It's painless, it doesn't itch and it doesn't hurt to touch it. You can't even see it when you look I just know it's there because I can feel it. I had a similar experience about a year ago, I went to my doctor and she told me I had HERPES! I didn't understand how I could have herpes because I had never experienced this problem before and I also didn't have unprotected sex in seven months, so it seemed very unlikely that it was herpes. She took a swab and a blood test and also tested me for all other STD's. While I was waiting on the results I went to another doctor for a second opinion. I actually went to a sexual health clinic and was examined by a doctor there. She told me that it was a blister, not a STD, but she said she could understand why my doctor thought it was herpes. She also tested me for herpes and STD's, just in case. The results from both places came back negative for herpes or any other STD. Eventually the bump just went away on it's own.

So now I think maybe the bump has returned, but I don't know what it is. It is not a STD, I know because I've been tested and also because my boyfriend who I'm sexually active with has no bumps and never has, so if it was herpes it would have shown up on him by now. So if it isn't a STD, what is it?

Actaully herpes can hide for quit some time, by hide I mean stay dormant. For more than a year I think, Let me look at my book give me a sec... And I'lll reply with a definite answer. I have to read my med books.

But aside from that, are you using enough lubricants? And if so what are they based from, water, gel, vitamin E (usually best for any kind of skin irritations during sex, or so most girls I've had sex with or that tell me about such things, seem to prefer.)

You may just need to take it easier down there, then again there is also stress. Yes a remote possibility, but stress effects our bodies just as much as any phyisical means.

K be back in a few...

I can't find the book I have that told me that Herpes can be dormant for some time so I have a nother one that says, That it can remain dormant for the rest of a person's life (I think that is after an innitial out break though.) But you've bin tested I don't think you have herpes any way.

Sorry I'm kind of sleepy, it's 2:06 A.M. so I'm going o go to bed, but if you leave me with more info, I'll read some more stuff, and give you a better idea. Ok...

Take care, try not to worry, especailly since that's what may be causing it.

    Night.

Hmm well I was tested for herpes twice since it showed up, 2 blood tests and 2 swabs from 2 different doctors and they all came back negative, so yea I don't think it's herpes. I was also tested a few times since I started having sex which was three and a half years ago and I've never had a positive test. The bump looks like a pimple or blister. It doesn't itch, it isn't red, it doesn't hurt it just irritates me sometimes, especially after I go to the washroom. My boyfriend and I don't use any lubrication, we don't really need it. We don't have long sex, when we have sex it usually lasts 5 minutes or less and during those 5 minutes I'm very worked up so we don't really need it.

I know I posted this awhile ago but I'm really starting to wonder what this could be. I finally made a doctors appointment for this Friday, with a new doctor. I'm going to ask to be tested for herpes once again, but I doubt it will be positive. I was examining myself again today and I noticed that there are two very small white bumps on the outside, they look almost like pimples. When you first look they look bigger than they are but once u stretch the skin you can barely even see them. They don't itch or irritate me, I didn't even notice them until today. The other bump is still there but it doesn't itch and it's not red, it only irritates me when I pee. My boyfriend has no bumps on his penis or mouth, and he performs oral sex on me almost everyday so if it was a STD it would have spread to his mouth by now. Is it possible that these little bumps are pimples? I know I'm going to the doctor on Friday but I'm really anxious to know what it is.

I was searching for pictures on Google of what an ULCER looks like, and some of the pictures resembled the bump that I have, except they were always in clusters and they were much bigger than what I have. The bump I have is barely noticeable and there's only one bump. I took some pictures of it and it looks a lot like a blister or water boil.

Also, even though herpes can go undetected for years, if my boyfriend was infected(which he should be by now) wouldn't he have had an out break when he first was infected? I mean we've been having sex for 8 months now and he's never had a bump on his penis or mouth. The bump first reappeared about a month ago and I've had sex with my boyfriend multiple times since then and he has nothing. That's what convinces me it's not a STD. That and also the fact that I've tested negative for herpes so many times. O well I'll find out tomorrow. Thank you for your reply.

I'm not sure sweety. I just know my Medical book says it can be dorment for the rest of your life after your first out break, and I'm pretty sure it said that some people can go for years before their first out break. I should look that up again, though to be sure. I'm sure you are not infected with an S.T.D. It sounds like something less dangerous. Please do let me know what it is so I may keep it in mind for next time, and some may look on here and find it useful to know about.

    Take care OK.

Good news! I think.. lol. It's not herpes :) The doctor examined me today and said it was a cyst and definently not herpes. He said it can come and stay for months and then go away on it's own. He also said it's normal to experience pain after urinating and during or after sex. He recommended that I use a lot of lubrication while having sex. He said it's nothing to worry about and that it will go away on it's own. I'm going back on Monday for a full check up and he will be taking blood tests, so I will get tested just to confirm it for sure but I'm sure it will come back negative.

Oh, I also forgot to mention he said that it can come back bigger than it was before, but right now it's very small it's hard to even see it. I don't really know if it's a good or a bad thing but I'm happy it's not herpes. He also put his finger inside and felt around and said that there were no bumps inside.

That is most excellent news. I believe they have means to deal with a cyst, or so I've bin told, but I DOn't know for sure. At least it doesn't seem to be as bad.

Thanks for telling me, and letting me know, I shall keep it in mind for next time a women askes about bumps in and around that area of the vagina. Take care of yourself, and we'll catch you around eh! :D

If you ever have a health-related problem, and you're looking for support on the internet... you can try webmd.com and click on syptom checker. It won't give you a diagnosis, but it'll be closer to a diagnosis for any health-related question than anyone in here can give you... unless they're a doctor, of course. It is VERY helpful for things you don't want a lot of people to know about. And they have actual doctors that you can ask your questions to.
