    Tile Shower Base Construction
I would like to know the usual size (H x W) of the marble curb for a built-up tile shower base. Also, how is the actual base constructed (tile, wet bed, rubber liner, curb, etc.)

Hear are some visual on a shower dam that marble can go over.
Also you can build the dam as you like an put a liner in
    BASIC average height is 4"

When you build the dam and know about its height you like and the width pre measure the stock tile pieces you pick out and you may be able to save some cutting time on pre layout

Codes may vary on the height of dam check local codes. The site below should get you on your way.
