    Big friend, big situation
:mad:So I got this friend who has gotten really out of shape. She still pretty and everything but she looked way better without the extra weight. She's a good person too, its just that I'm tired of hearing the guys make fun of her in the locker room. I defended many times but they keep talking about it. Really, should I tell my friend about her weight problem, or keep my mouth shut?

Would she not most likely know she has a problem ( if she believes she does)

I went through a 'fat' stage when I was 13, the next year I got taller and thinner and all of those guys that teased me the year before wanted to date me. I wouldn't worry about it- she can always lose weight but you can't fix ugly (face and personality!)

Don't say anything - you will probably hurt her feelings. Instead, think of ways to help her get exercise. Invite her to go for a bike ride or a walk. Even shopping at the mall can be good exercise. Also, try to eat healthy around her. This might encourage her to eat healthy too.

Her weight is her concern. Your friends locker room talk is typical, waste of time trying to make people act maturely, most just don't have it in them until something harsh happens to shake them up.

You can be her friend, though. If she's fine with her weight, why does your concern about take precedence? It doesn't.

Be her friend. Friends bear all things.

I had a similar thing go on that Spyderglass said... when I was 14 (and didn't "blossom" yet) I was 5'1" and 170 pounds. When I was 16 (I "blossomed") I was 5'2" and 130. Now, at 17 I am 5'2" and 115 pounds... my body is close to fully matured, and guys can't keep their eyes off. I think it's just a stage with girls. She probably is going to do a little more growing and maturing, give it time... she'll be a babe in no time, I bet.

Def keep your mouth shut... she will figure it out... also you don't have to defend her all the time silence doesn't cost a thing
