    Area of integration
    Hello,

    How would you do this question:

    Find the area bounded by the curves with equations y=1/2sin(2x) and y=-cos(1/3x), the line x= PI/2 and the y-axis.

    I don't know the value of the y-axis. How would I work out this value, everything else is fine.

    You need to have at least a sketch, that'll make you see it more clearly. The y axis and the line are the limits of the region. Then, according to your sketch, find the area you need through integration.

    As mentioned, always graph these things. Since the y-axis is a bound, doesn't that correspond to x=0?
