Acne takes forever to clear up
Is it normal for zits to take two weeks to clear up? Even with treatment? What can I do to make this process faster?

From my experience, the only treatment that works for light to moderate acne is a topical cream made up of 2.5% benzoyl Peroxide. Acne.com makes a good one. The only down side is that you need to use A LOT of it and it's time consuming and it dries up the skin a bit. I think Proactiv also has one but it's a lot more expensive than the one I mentioned first.

What would happen if I used regular old rubbing alcohol (91%)?

AHHH!! Okay, thought I'd ask... Would be okay to use if I had a scab on my face from a zit? Would this clear it up faster then a bandaid and neosporin?

Because it is a drying agent. I use it ONLY to sterilize my thermometer's in between uses.

This might sound crazy, but put a little bit of toothpaste on them (paste, not gel). Seriously, it works.

Actually the fluoride stuff in toothepaste causes my skin to break out, it does for most people. That's actually a myth.

Look at the first few ingredients of your makeup... are they oil based or water based? Stay away from oil base makeup... Are you using a water base moisturizer at night?
My family uses the simple Dove soap to keep our faces clean and clear of acne...

My dermatoligist says with all good acne treatments, your acne will always get worse before it gets better, so give it some time
