Is it normal for zits to take two weeks to clear up? Even with treatment? What can I do to make this process faster?

What kind of treatment?
Clearasil.
From my experience, the only treatment that works for light to moderate acne is a topical cream made up of 2.5% benzoyl Peroxide. Acne.com makes a good one. The only down side is that you need to use A LOT of it and it's time consuming and it dries up the skin a bit. I think Proactiv also has one but it's a lot more expensive than the one I mentioned first.
Sorry, it's acne.org...
What would happen if I used regular old rubbing alcohol (91%)?
You will dry your skin out and get wrinkly before your old enough to get wrinkles.Quote:

Stay away from the rubbing alcohol period.
Hmm... Otay. Thanks for the advice. Why is rubbing is so bad?
Because it is a drying agent. I use it ONLY to sterilize my thermometer's in between uses.
This might sound crazy, but put a little bit of toothpaste on them (paste, not gel). Seriously, it works.
Actually the fluoride stuff in toothepaste causes my skin to break out, it does for most people. That's actually a myth.Quote:

My family uses the simple Dove soap to keep our faces clean and clear of acne...
Interesting... I will look at that! I'll report back.Quote:
