    Different types of lawsuits
I co-signed on an auto loan. She defaulted. I paid it off. Do I file for a judgement in district court, criminal court, or what type of court?

If the amount is greater than small claims court limits then you file a civil (not criminal) law suit. What court that is for your area may differ.

But, if she defaulted on a car loan, what makes you think you can collect?

It's a civil case, not a criminal case, and it depends on the dollar amount.

Well you file for repayment of your money, if you will you can get a judgement. This is not criminal, it is civil.
Which court will depend on the amount and what you want to do.
