Installing remote control in ceiling fan
If I install a remote control device into an existing ceiling fan, do I still need the speed control switch? Can I by-pass the switch?

NO, do NOT use a speed control with a remote fan. Just use a regular wall switch.

What model is the existing fan? Some fans REQUIRE a wall switch and CANNOT take a remote.
