    Felony degree of grand larceny
My husband is being charges with grand larceny and we have been told he can qualify for a diversion program if the charge is a 3rd degree felony or less, which will take the felony off his record. What felony degree is grand larceny?

    Hello Lorrie:

Every state classifies its crimes differently. Grand larceny is probably any amount ABOVE a certain number. I would suspect the amount of the larceny would have an effect on its degree.

In any case, if he's being charged with a felony (of ANY degree), and can't afford a lawyer, one will be appointed. THAT is the guy to whom you need to pose this question to.

PS> (edited) Uhhhh, told by WHO?? He should only be talking to his lawyer - NOBODY ELSE!! THAT'S NOBODY ELSE.
