Jun 9, 2010, 09:55 AM
So okay I did do it. We went out on the initial date, and than after that we hung out a few times, both times, I made the plans, and I made the date. So last night I asked him what his plans for Friday were, he said he didn't have any. I said okay well if you want to get together let me know. He says "ya, I'll let you know by Thursday". Do I have to wait until the last minute to make sure he has nothing better going on?
Oh God I forgot how painful dating was.

Just my opinion, but a woman should NEVER wait on a guy, at least in this type of situation. I am a guy that likes gals that play hard to get (to some extent), so if I were you I would make plans and he can either be involved or not. You are set either way.
Aurora_Bell

Oh bella, he is going to go out with you if he has nothing that comes up? That's urkes the sh#t out of me. I mean if he makes plans with you then you are what came up. When people say that basically it means if nothing better for me comes along. Ticks me off. Don't say anything at all then.
I am planning this surprise party for my husband Saturday and someone commented "we plan on being there unless something comes up" Well isn't the party something? So you turn down other offers because this is something... grr... people.
Did I make any sense?

In ireland you can apply for a grant for college, its means tested, both my older two have applied, there is a mountain of paper work to gather up.
If you qualify you get your semester paid for classes etc, books, living costs and sometimes for accommadation.
If you pm me I can look into the grants schemes in your area, however some sites may not be available to me here,if you ring the colleges your applying too they may be able to give you an address or contact number, also a citizens advice office would be able to help gather information.

Pyrite, Ruby, Tourmaline (Green), Lapis Lazuli are all good for your brain.
Hematite, Howlite, Rhodonite , Unakite are all good for your memory.
Just carry one, or wear it if it's in jewelry. Keep it on the desk with you while you take the test. They'll help even more if you keep them nearby while you study.

Amber, Bloodstone, Charoite, Citrine, Peridot, Green Amber, Jade, Jet,
Malachite, Moss Agate, Pyrite/Marcasite, Silver, Tiger Eye, Turquoise can all help draw money to you. Basically, most green, gold, and yellow stones are good for drawing money.
If you have a business, then place a citrine over the door and in or on the cash register. You can also keep a piece of citrine in your wallet or purse.

If you can find them as stone beads, then you can string them as a necklace or bracelet. Just be warned, most of the stone beads they sell in craft stores are either not what they're labeled as, or are altered. Also, there are some general care tips to keep in mind.
Amber melts when exposed to strong heat, so you shouldn't wear it while cooking or near a fire.
Charoite will change color if exposed to heat or moisture. It doesn't hurt the stone any, just darkens in color.
Malachite and pyrite shouldn't be exposed to excess moisture. They'll both tarnish.
Amber, jet, malachite, and turquoise are all relatively 'soft' stones and can become scratched or broken.
Some things to look out for with fake or altered stones:
You can tell real amber by heating a pin and placing it on the piece. It should smell like warm honey. Fakes will smell like burning plastic. You can also try placing a piece in water overnight. It should turn into a jelly-like mass. It doesn't always work, and will ruin the piece, though.
Stones sold as turquoise are sometimes really dyed howlite. Howlite is a white stone with black veining similar to turquoise. Dyed howlite, and color-enhanced turquoise, will 'bleed' color if placed in water. You'll end up with a cup of blue water with stones at the bottom.
There's also a stone called turquinite that's often sold as turquoise. It's softer than real turquoise and lacks the distinctive banding, though.

I don't think I have any of those stones. I mostly have Amethyst, Amber, Jade, and onyx. I would love to get a turquoise stone. My jade is a really dark, almost black. I also have a Jade stone cat, but it's supposed to bring on fertility, so I try not to touch it lol.

OK, the amethyst could help. It's not the best choice, but it's not the worst.
Hematite is that black-silver stone that's often used to make magnetic beads.
Edit:
Azurite, beryl (which includes emerald and aquamarine), optical calcite, and apatite are good stones to use while studying.
If you can get a hold of a good piece of optical calcite, then you can actually read through it. Read the harder to remember pieces of information through the stone. When you take the test, hold the stone or look through it to help trigger your memory.

Spaetzle are home made noodles. You need a special little press, you make the dough, put it through the press into boiling water, when they rise, they're done.
Really yummy.
Having said that. One vote for rice. ;)
Anyone else?

Two votes dumplings. One vote rice.

I need to wash dishes. I think I want chinese tonight. That means washing a pan and bowl and big spoon, at the least. I'll try to do more than that, though. My sink is full and my cupboards are empty. Dishes today. Grocery shopping tomorrow.

Too late to vote. The dumplings are in the process of cooking.
The Rouladen are simmering and the smell is all throughout the house. Hurry dumplings, I'm hungry!

There's nothing quite as disgusting as doing boy/man laundry. I have tongs so that I don't have to touch the underwear.
What still shocks me, and I can't quite figure it out, is that Jared leaves poo stains on the toilet seat. How? What the heck are you doing that poo ends up on the toilet seat. Worse, why aren't you cleaning it up, or at least telling me about it?

I've done laundry for guys. My sister used to pay me and my brother to do her laundry. There were her clothes, my niece's, an my brother-in-law's. My sister's clothes weren't that bad. My niece's clothes just smelled like spit-up. My brother-in-law's clothes had special directions, and couldn't be washed with ANYTHING else.
You haven't seen gross until you've done laundry for a diesel mechanic. Not only were there underwear stains, but there were also grease, dirt, diesel, various mechanical fluids, cleaning solvents, and any number of other things.
I've also done laundry for a 10 year old boy and a grown man. The funny part was watching a 10 year old boy freak out because I was touching his underwear while I was folding laundry.

Muddy I have one thing to say. Your young and super duper cute. Go for it. Doesn't make you a bad person or him. Makes you both happy and entertained for a time. If he is OK with it and your wanting a sugar daddy rock on girlfriend! I call it "arm candy"
Adam welcome to your old addiction.

I have that way with innocent boys. Wait! That sounded so wrong. Really wrong.
Innocent is boring. That is why I let my mind run wild.

Lol, I remember, and wasn't the least expecting that I'll get it... I have to thank Alty, Cats, Stringer and the others for that. They were the ones who actually suggested to the higher ups to make me expert. Wait, I already did :o
Hey Emop! So, when are you planning to start college? :)

In the fall... that means spring to me, which is in about 6 months?
You can try having some 'advance' on the other students if you read a little each day ;)
That won't hurt, and it's always more enjoyable when you're not 'forced' to study something, and you learn it more easily :)

Hello! :)
I think he might have hurried to somewhere and had to just close the window... I hope I don't miss his logging on next time.
So, how is the planning of Gavin birthday going? :)

Jun 10, 2010, 10:28 AM
Its actually my husbands birthday this time. Gavins is the big one in September. I normally don't do a big deal for my husband but he turned 40. Had a surprise party planned and Gavin spilled the beans. I wasn't happy but oh well. I did well hiding it for a couple weeks.

Oh, sorry, I think I messed it up :o
Yes, the 10's birthdays are worth a surprise. Well, try to think of another surprise, within the 'spoiled surprise' ;)

I'm back from lunch, would have been back sooner but my old boss stole my computer forever and I had to wait. I believe I was missed by the way, I read back about 20 pages just to see my name mentioned because that is the one I didn't believe, that I was actually remembered. Thanks for the warm welcome.

I may be out the rest of today so I am warning you I might come up missing after this.
Your right unky the 10's are big. So I will pull off a surprise for Fathers Day. I am going to pick him up a new grill. He has been complaining about ours forever. So be it. I will get a newer, bigger and better one.

Jun 10, 2010, 11:07 AM
Oh I know not a word. Even though I told my son someone else had made a comment also. One of his friends said something about raising hell at his party and he had no idea what that meant. So he put it together I was planning something. That's why when Gavin said something it kind of confirmed it.
The same thing happened with him. He planned me this huge 30th party and one of my friends told me all of it. I was so mad at her. I still pretended to be surprised because it was quite huge and he went out of his way to do it.

Lol, yes, silly spoiler people
It would be such a ruin if the person doing the planning realises that it's not a surprise, that his/her work was vain...
You need to teach Gavin how to keep a secret ;)

it's a bit of ranch, with blue cheese dressing, and some buffalo wing sauce mixed together with pretzels dipped in it. I invented it this morning
You should try breaded chicken patties with sweet and sour sauce.
