What went wrong?

Last thing I remember reading about it was you were head over heels for this guy?

Page 72 post 717...

I saw my boy last night, he came to my job. I thought it was nice, but I noticed something about him. He's the jealous type, and I'm not sure if I like that- only because it reminds me of my ex, he started jealous and it just escalated.

Guys can sometimes be d-bags, it's okay, I'm used to it, but buddy here decided to step in and basically claim me. I pulled him aside and told him to calm down that it's part of my job and that at least I'm not some stripper, I just make drinks.. and he told me "why don't you just get another job" and I told him "we'll talk about this later" and he just left me there... it was a nice feeling.

Oh well. It was nice while it lasted.

Nah, I think if he'll be too jealous to the point of asking you to take some other job, he's not worth it. Whatever you do, good luck Sarah :)

Hello Bear and KC! :)

Me, I nearly have a foot in uni :( Was that hard Bear? :o

kctiger
Jun 2, 2010, 07:31 AM

Hey Unk, thanks for the input. I'll definitely take you guys' advice.

What does the job entitle KC?

Did you know that Power Rangers is actually in Japanese that is dubbed over in English? And that the red Power Ranger is now a gay porn star? LOL

Aurora_Bell

I am at my whits end with ym dog. Ever since Sophie left Lady has been even more needier than normal. I left her today for half an hour to vacuum my car, I cam back and there was poop every where in her room. She tore a bag of dog food a part which basically had to go in the garbage because she also pee'd all over the floor. And the dog food I buy is like $50 bucks a bag. She tore the curtains off the window again and pee'd on those, and pooped on my vacuum cleaner.

I have done every thing I possibly know what to do with this dog. She is so freaking perfect when I am with her, but the minute I leave, she is phyco b!tch from Hell! If I leave her in the crate she poops, if I leave her loose in the house, she poops, if I leave her in her room, she poops. We get up every morning at 5 am and go for a walk. Than when my daughter goes to school, I take her for a run across the street in a huge open field. She has free roam of the back yard, and she gets walked for a good 4kms after supper. Plus on warm days she goes swimming. GRRRRRR!

Sorry needed to rant.

I now visiting another forum that a member here suggested me. It's a math forum, and I can see all sorts of math problems being posted at least each hour. The university math seem tough, with all those weird symbols XD.

Thanks Bear!

It means I have to work harder now... so that I won't have to work so hard later on... hmmm ;)

albear
Jun 2, 2010, 07:47 AM
Lol muddy where do you find these things... on second thought I probably don't want to know :D

I woke up this morning with all 7 cats in my bed. I think they wanted to make sure I couldn't move without them knowing.

Then, a kitten tried to slit my wrist when I was kicking them out my room. If I let them play in my room during the day, I end up finding dirty laundry dragged into the kitchen, my night stand cleared off, and cats hanging from the clothes in my closet.

I finally found a harness and leash for spot. All I have to do is make sure it fits.

And, it's not even 2pm, yet.

hheath541
Jun 2, 2010, 11:16 AM
It's Eh!!

Frickin' a is a favorite phrase of mine. Don't really know why or where I got it from. It's become a bit more 'adult' in recent years, at least on occasion.

Moving to canada would NOT give me a canadian accent. Just like moving to northern Ohio hasn't gotten rid of my central Ohio accent.

albear

Aurora_Bell

A couple hundred years ago, everyone was learning french as the universal language of the developed world. Before that, it was latin. Now it's english. Chinese will probably be next.

Alty
Jun 2, 2010, 05:36 PM
I am so very happy right now. I could burst!

I just got a call, looked at the call display, didn't recognize the number. I don't usually answer when I don't know the number, but I thought "What the heck, I'm bored anyway".

So I answered and a lady asked for me. I said "speaking" and she said "It's Mandy from Germany!" My cousins ex wife, and a very good friend of mine.

Biggest surprise, she's in Edmonton with her kids! She hasn't been here in 20 years!

Sadly they leave on Saturday, so we made plans for Friday. I'm letting the kids have a day off, we're meeting at West Edmonton Mall for the day.

This is the best surprise I've had in a long time. I'm giddy!

Just thought I'd share. :)

We now go back to our regular scheduled program. :)

I'm hoping a couple of my friends will be able to come up so we can go to pride together later this month.

I had an eventful day. Kitten almost slit my wrist. I found a harness and leash for spot. I took spot outside, then decided to take edith out (she doesn't mind the harness and leash at all). Went to the beach and found rocks and driftwood. Realized on the way BACK from the beach that it was after 5 and I hadn't eaten anything but the banana I had around 11. Got home and showered because I was so sweaty I could smell myself.

Now I'm just relaxing and watching the crazy, furry people I live with.

Two nights ago a troll came to the site, Sean something or other. He followed me around just to be an a$$.

Well of course he was banned. Sadly he has no life and now he's back, under the username Iamawesome, or something like that.

I've already reported him, but if you really want to see a troll in action, a guy with no life, here you go.

https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/other-home-garden/how-take-care-laminate-floors-475400.html

He won't be around long, and so far he's just going to whichever threads I've posted on, so if you want some entertainment, you better act fast. He'll be banned shortly, but I'm sure that he'll be back even after he's banned.

Some people really are pathetic.

Not a big fan of Mexico.

We went a few days after I found out I was pregnant with my daughter. It was planned, both the trip and the pregnancy, but I didn't realize I'd be so sick. I wasn't with my son.

It was a horrible two weeks. Praying to the porcelain God when I haven't had a drink is not my idea of fun.

The marsh tour was cool though. :)

Considering that Seans reason for joining AMHD was to ask about his 15 year old girlfriend, I'm guessing he's 15 or younger, so you, Cats is dead on.

Too bad Sean doesn't take up reading or something. He thinks we're a bunch of losers for helping people on this site, yet he can't seem to stay away.

Sorry.

Moving on...

As for the boy... if he isn't willing to chase you now, it won't be any easier later on... just my two cents. A cold shoulder shouldn't block him from showing some interest... so, I guess don't write him off completely, but he has work to do.

Do you want to hear something GROSS?

At McDonalds the chicken strips [without the fries or soda] is 55 grams of fat and about 800 CALORIES  That is freaky! Imagine getting the fries, pop and dip to go with that--- that would be 1700 calories-- that's almost a days worth of calories.

From Cheesecake Factory tops 'Xtreme Eating Awards' list (http://www.azcentral.com/thingstodo/dining/articles/2010/05/26/20100526xtreme-eating-awards-cheesecake-factory.html)

"The Cheesecake Factory's Pasta Carbonara with Chicken, which, in addition to the 2,500 calories, has 85 grams of saturated fat. That's more saturated fat than a person should consume in four days, Liebman says. The dish has four cups of white-flour pasta, smoked bacon, chicken, and Parmesan cream and butter sauce."

...

Tho' I personally think the chicken mcnugget is one of the most disgusting inventions ever. I know the topic was the strips... but ick to 'em all.

Pretty sure 4 of my 7 are plotting my demise. Unky just isn't interested. Mop would miss the cuddles. Aura would never want blood on her paws, she's too much of a princess for that.

Edith goes after me every time she sees the bottom of the food dish. Spot is constantly attacking my legs. Alty-cat's the one that slit my wrist. Zoe... you know what... I think zoe's working for aura.

Make that 5 of my 7 cats are plotting my demise.

albear

I can't be sick right now. I'm going out for a day of fun with my cousins ex wife from Germany, and her kids, and my kids, and the whole shebang. I can't reschedule, she leaves Saturday.

So, does anyone have a quick fix? I'm willing to try anything. I'll shoot shark pee up my nose if it will work, even though I'm pretty sure finding shark pee won't be easy.

Anyone?

Anything?

What about the wonderful Wiccans on the site? Does anyone have a get well now spell? Remember, I'm willing to try anything!

Sigh.

Stupid body hates me so darn much. Maybe I should order a new one. Do you think Sears catologue (ok how the fark do you spell that?) has any?

I have tried the cold fx, it made my cold come on stronger, faster, and last longer then ever before. A lot to spend to be sicker. ;)

I don't think it's a cold anyway. It's a tummy thing. I don't have the sniffles, or a sore throat, just a really yucky tummy, throwing up, weak, and blah! We plan to go to the museum tomorrow. Throwing up and pooing my guts out in the museum is not my idea of gits and shiggles.

Mushrooms? Do tell. ;)

You can try peppermint. Either suck on a peppermint, or drink peppermint tea, if you have some. It should help settle your stomach, at least a little.

It sounds like you either picked up a stomach bug, or ate something that was off.

As for spells, I don't really practice spells. I do, however use stones.

Do you have any citrine, amethyst, peridot, topaz, onyx, or snowflake obsidian? All of them are good for stomach troubles.

Clear quartz is good for diarrhea.

Amber, malachite, agate, amethyst, clear quartz, and sodalite are all good general healing stones.

If you have any of those, just hold them in your hand (or wear them, if they're jewelry) and focus on feeling better. Carry them with you when you go out tomorrow.

Throwing a few peppermints in your purse wouldn't hurt, either. I use peppermint whenever my stomach feels a bit off, or when I have cramps.

Ginger always helps to settle a tummy. You can get the all natural gravol, that is only made with ginger, doesn't make you drowsy, but helps big time with the nausea and poops.

Here are a few things you can try. First off stick to clear liquids for a little. I suggest chicken bullion cubes. Yes its salty but it will help get your stomach back. Another thing if you have it is drink camomile tea. It will sooth you and is a great healer for many things both internal and external. When you start feeling better go on a BRAT diet till your feeling good enough to eat solids. If you have never heard of brat diet (Bananas, Rice, AND Toast). You will feel better in no time. Hope its soon too :)

I'll try it all. Chicken noodle soup will be on the stove in a bit. Sadly I don't do pop. My poor tummy can't handle pop, it's used to beer and coffee. ;)

I don't have peppermint. :( I do however have a beautiful amethyst necklace. I never wear it because it's huge. If I ever get an invite to dine with the queen, it's the perfect accessory. ;) It was a wedding gift from a friend of the family. I was supposed to sell it as a down payment on a house. It's from the 1700's, white gold. I think I have a picture. Let me find it.

i was just about to say the same thing ^_^

amethyst is very possibly my favorite stone, ever. not only is it gorgeous, it's a very versatile and useful stone to have around.

It is a beautiful necklace, but it's not an every day necklace. It's "tea with the queen" or "getting married" type of jewelry.

It's huge. It's heavy. It's blingy. It's everything I'm not. I wear earrings, and that's about it. When I wear a necklace it's the one my dad gave me or the one R gave me (the one R gave me is half a heart with my birth stone in the middle. It represents the half of my heart that I lost when my parents died, and the half I still have because of him and the kids). Feel free to laugh. I'm a very symbolic person.

Things that mean a lot to me aren't necessarily things that are the most beautiful, or the most expensive, they're just the things that hold meaning, that hold memories, that make me feel warm and cuddly, loved.

The amethyst, although beautiful, has no special meaning to me. It's just a necklace. In fact, the person that gave it to me cut off contact shortly after my parents died. He's an old man, lives in Germany, and the only reason he gave me the necklace to begin with was because of his love for my parents. I haven't talked to him in 9 years, he won't take my calls, claims it's too hard to talk to me. He once said "you should have died instead of you mother. She was so much more important then you".

Wearing the necklace isn't on the top 10 list of things to do, but I will if it will help me feel better, because my family is here from Germany and I get to see them. I'd like to be well enough to have fun tomorrow, to make some memories, because frankly, it may be 20 years before I see them again. :(

Thanks Kit.

It was hard to accept. I call him Uncle, have since I was a child. He was a huge part of my life. He and his late wife came to visit us often, and we went to visit them.

They never had kids. I was always told that I was like a grandchild to them. They're much older then my parents were. In fact, he would be in his early nineties now. Yes, he's still alive.

To lose both my parents and then lose him, it was hard.

I'm not bitter about it anymore, I'm just sad about it. Sad for him, sad for me. I don't want to be angry, but it's not always easy.

He loved my parents very much. I thought he loved me too. I guess not. No loss though. I have many people that love me and I love them right back. :)

Not so much burned, as EXPLODED! There's half an exploded egg all over my kitchen floor.

Thankfully, tonight is trash night. Once the eggs cool enough not to melt the bag, I'll clean up the mess, throw out the eggs, and put out the trash.

OK, if you have a timer that doen't shut off until you shut it off, use it. Every time I boil water for iced tea, the timer gets set for 10 minutes.

Yep, I have a story to tell. I was a little one and put water on to boil when mom wasn't home. Ended up with a charcoal bottomed pot on the inside in which I had to clean before mom got home. Boy, that was a lot of work.

The timer on my stove doesn't work. I'd use the microwave, but it doesn't make a sound when it turns off.

I once completely ruined a pot by 'boiling water' for about 6 hours. The bottom buckled and cracked.

I am no angel.

I've done a pretty decent job of controlling my temper over the years. Most of the time.

Some days I've not done so well and gotten away with it. It happens. Sometimes its good to hear another person labor to breathe after you've hit first and are lookng down at them.

But really...

I've been ticked off, pi$$ed off, etc enough times over the years... somehow this guy is a top five for me.

I don't expect any fellow guy to be a saint... we are idiots... and we are crude sometimes by our nature...

I'm fine, my mock exams are in about three weeks :)

And the final year exams will be at the end of October, till mid or end November.

Trying to revise all the things I went through since last year...

Mum and sister are okay, they're watching a local comedy right now. They're been learning some guitar... that's it as news...

My own two daughters have there final exams on Tuesday, then off to college,(fingers crossed).

Breathing is my problem, although it should not be if my position is correct, very frustrating!

I have some neck problems which is proving difficult of me to reach the trough of air,my reach is good, have been told my kick is strong, but something is off balance, that I cannot get into the correct position to take a breath.

Any suggestions? Or drills I can practice?

Unknown008
Jun 4, 2010, 09:36 AM
Well, when I learned, my breathing too was not so good. I was pulling my head too much off the water and this resulted in a 'disbalance'.

With time and practice, I learned to raise my head so that my mouth was just touching the surface of the water, without swallowing any of it.

You can try holding a floater with one hand and use only the other hand. At each stroke, try to raise your head just to the surface of the water. Do not try to breathe then, just in case you happen not to raise your head enough. You will breathe on 1 out of three strokes if you can, or two.

So, when you don't breathe in, try to raise your head just enough, while avoiding 'disrupting' your strokes.

It's a little difficult for me to explain this in English... :o

albear
Jun 4, 2010, 09:40 AM
Might seem a little weird but I imagined an air bubble under my armput when it was coming out of the water and so pointed my head in that direction to breath when doing free style :o

Unknown008
Jun 4, 2010, 09:49 AM
Yes, in fact, if you can turn your head 90 degrees, that's fine, and if you can turn your head less than that, using the trough of the water, it's even better :)

Btw, you don't have to open your mouth like an 'O' to breathe in, you can open just the part above the water surface... a little like a 'P'.

Don't take it like that... take the dead sea, you'll float there!

And if you get a good and nice teacher, I'm sure you'll learn quickly. Swimming is first a matter of floating, which becomes easy once you know what movements to do to keep afloat. From then, I'm sure that you'll want to learn diving. I so much like to go explore some of the coral reef and meet the fishes, and other animals there :)

You're lucky. My graduation was in the middle of the afternoon, on the football field. There was a heat advisory out warning children and elderly to stay inside. They shortened the ceremony, to 3 hours, so we wouldn't all die of heat stroke.

I have no fond memories of my graduation. The only reason I went was because my mom made me.

Hey heath, how's edith and the new place?

hheath541
Jun 4, 2010, 02:27 PM
I love it here. Plenty of room and lots of windows. Good neighbors. Within biking distance of pretty much everywhere I need to go.

All the kitties are great. I've actually started harness training spot and edith so I can take them outside. Spot's not too sure about the whole 'outside' thing and cries and begs to let back in. edith doesn't even notice the harness and just enjoys being allowed outside for the first time in more than 3 months.

Unky scared the daylights out of me this morning, though. Edith woke me up to feed them and I was just lying in bed cuddling all the kitties before getting up to fill the food dish. All of a sudden, unky made the loudest, most pain scream I have ever heard come out of an animal and bolted from the room.

I chased him down and tried to examine him. I finally ended up wrapping him in a towel and pinning him down. The entire time, he was screaming that terrible scream. One of his eyes was kind of goopy, so I cleaned it out. He's been fine ever since. He must've gotten something in his eye.

The worst part about the screaming, is that unky is a very quiet cat. He almost never makes a sound. Even when he and his siblings are play fighting, he usually just runs off if they play too rough. I think that's the first sound I've heard him make since they were mewling infants crying for milk.

I'm only keeping two of them. The other 4 will be finding homes. I'm just hoping to get them fixed before I adopt them out. I want to at least get the girls fixed, since they're the ones that would actually end up having more cats.

There's edith, spot, and zoe that I'm keeping. Unky, alty-cat, aura, and mop will be getting new homes.

Hello! Morning here! :)

Hheath, if you can try to constantly blow with your nose, that should solve the problem. I never really did that until I learned to do somersaults with the wall of the pool. At the beginning, water would go in my nose and my! How they 'burned'!

Try blowing slowly with your nose instead of your mouth that should work. If you're going deeper, then, special masks are required, with the bottle of oxygen :) , or if you know how to do snorkeling, it'll be fine. I never learned how to use these under water though.

Hheath! Poor unky! :( Take good care of him. I don't want him to become one-eyed...

Unky, I've tried that. I end up running out of air, then water goes up my nose and I drown. Not a huge deal. I don't go swimming much, anyway. I just wondered if you had any other suggestions.

Unky's fine. A few hours after it happened, that eye was just slightly less open than the other. It's fine now. Now even a little red.

It was just the most pain-filled gut-wrenching cry I have ever heard come out of an animal. It scared me and had my heart racing and lodged in my throat. I've heard cats who've gotten stepped on, shut in doors, had a chair leg land on a tail or paw, and any number of household mishaps. None of them even came close to the sound he made.

Slowly hheath, you breath out with your nose slowly when you swim.

I wonder now... when exactly do you get water up your nose? Because in all of the four styles (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly) one can manage even without blowing water, to have a longer breath and go faster in competitions.

Try keeping your head horizontal when you swim.

Diving is another matter :)

Most shifts are happy, but every once in a while we get a baby who has either passed in the womb, or is slowly passing. Last night was the worst of the worst... I sit here drinking a beer to relax because of it.

After 2 years of this, this is the first time I have experienced this particular situation. I have to get it off my chest, but don't want to be a downer, you know.

redhed35

J_9
Jun 6, 2010, 06:35 AM
It's hard Reddy. To tell a 17 year old that she is going to have a baby, but the baby is not going to live is HARD.

What do I say? That's hard too. Each delivery is different. This one, for example, the baby may live for a few minutes, to an hour, outside of the womb, but there is no lung tissue to speak of. The baby can't breathe.

We have to tell them the truth, no sugar coating. I guess that is why I am so straight forward here. Mom was only 20 weeks pregnant, too early for viability. We have to tell them what to expect. No crying; eyes fused; can't really tell the sex; no possible way to save it's life.

We encourage them to call their religious leader (pastor, priest, etc), if they have one. Keep visitors to a minimum, keep them full of pain meds.

How do I deal personally? I cry. I cry with my patients. I don't hide it. I have to keep in mind that this was meant to happen, but why we will never know.

God, it hurts. It hurts to watch these women go through this when I can come home and hug my children. And then I get so pi$$ed off when these little 14 year olds think that they want a baby because the baby will love them unconditionally, or they THINK they are in love. What I wouldn't give to bring them to work with me.

Its good that you have such empathy for the mothers J,that's what makes you good at your job, that's what they will remember when the dust settles,in their grief when they speak of the worst experience of their lives, the way you helped will help the healing.

I remember a nurse in ICU when my daughter dying, she was so kind and gentle with me,ill never forget her,she is so much apart of that time.

The women you helped last night will remember you too,you gave her a gentle hand and you were honest with her in a dark time.
