Thank you Starby, I'm glad that I'm able to 'talk' about anything and everything with you all - Larry listens but does not talk back much except when he's hungry or wants loving. I would appreciate those old Maxine clips if you can find them in your 'sent' folder in your email - just resend. Right now, Yahoo is down, so I cannot read my mail yet. Hope it does not take them too long to function again.

Alex and his mom had to do an emergency stop in Nova Scotia because there was a really sick old lady on the plane who needed immediate medical attention. Jaime couldn't understand why a really sick person would fly in the first place.. I told her that if she and Alex were not here, I would be on the plane headed to be with my brother, no matter how sick I was, because I would want to spend my last days with loved ones and that maybe that's what this lady was doing. She had to think about that one and agreed with me. But this delayed their arrival in Missouri over 7 hours and Dan and his family were really worried because they didn't know where she was.

The 'toy' I was talking about is a graphic (drawing) program that lets you produce pictures of all kinds and use 'pretend' oil, chalk, marker, glitter, and lots of other types of 'paintbrushes' to create your pictures. Even a professional uses it and has his pictures and films on a forum. I found it on the WACOM site, where I usually look for and/or purchase tips for my graphic pen. You see, I cannot use a mouse, so I use a Pen and Tablet with my computer, and I have tried so many types that I am an expert on the subject.. WACOM has the best - from all prices to all sizes. My current tablet is a Graphire 3 and the pen that goes with it needed another tip, so I went on the site to order a set - and found another tablet that I want, and also the new 'drawing' program that I want to try. Well, my credit card did not work outside Germany, so I asked my daughter to purchase the drawing program for me - and she said yes - so I get my new toy sometime soon. I will have to save up for the new tablet and pen though before I get her to order that. It's around 50 Euro and not in my budget right now, even though Jaime and Alexander will get them anyway, I want to still be able to pay for my own toys since she gets food and other things for me and Larry - I don't want to over-tax her when it comes to things that are not really necessary.

OK, now my computer... well it acted up again, and this time I was really mad. But before reformatting, and losing all of my stuff, I tried another tactic. I have used two different Registry Cleaners (will explain that on another day) and when I used them my computer would 'claim' that some essential files were 'currupt' and that I should do a 'chkdsk' which is short for check disk.. Well Vista does not like to let you go to a command prompt without going through a maze, so I went into my BIOS and noticed that there were a few changes that the new 'update' made to my settings there. Well, I changed them, and was ablb to go to my command prompt and also do a memory check and a complete disk diagnosis. Well, guess what - there was nothing what-so-ever wrong with my memory or files... After five hours of stress, but keeping patient, I was rewarded with the knowledge that I still know what I am doing 'computer-wise' and an assured that my laptop is OK, just Vista is a pain in the *ss. Yeah, I can now pass on this knowledge to JB, and also the rest of my family who all 'play' with computers. That makes me feel good.

Here's the part where we can all laugh about this though. For some reason, I was all of a sudden cut off from the internet and though I tried to reconnect, got a message that the admin turned off that feature. Well, I'm the admin of my own computer, so this really baffled me! That's why I thought the new updates I got today did something wrong and tried to do a recovery from another day - well that did not work because my recovery program said that there were 'currupt' files and to do a 'chkdks' before I could even do anything. So, after all I went through, and no problems found, I looked for my lighter to have a cigarette.. and lo and behold, in front of my laptop (on the bottom part near the closure) I found that the switch that was there was off, but I always left it on. (It's the one that turns off bluetooth and networks) - I then noticed that those indicator lights were out! Boy, I could have kicked myself in the you-know-what for being that stupid. I switched it back on and got my internet back. BUT, if I had not gone through all that trouble today, I still would have believed that there was something wrong with my disk and would not have found out how to get back to my command prompt in the future. So all's well that ends well, I guess.

Jaime is going to burn all the pictures she has on a CD for me so that I can at least have the ones she took. The ones that I did not save to CD are gone and that really makes me sad. From now on I will keep a CD in my laptop and update my graphic folder before shutting down. My Nero program lets me decide if the computer can shut off by itself after copying or burning a CD, so that will be used a lot.

Stringer dear, I noticed that I got an email from you too, but cannot open my mail yet, Yahoo has a 'little' problem right now. Ah, just got in, so when done with AMHD, will check my mail and see what's there. I always get excited when I get mail from my friends.

I will also have to take off the 'email me' feature in my AMHD profile, because if I don't know you, and there is no 'special' word in the subject - I delete it as spam and don't want to hurt anyone by not answering. They can PM me if it's important - and I'll tell them to initiate a thread if they need help.

Here I am just typing away while Larry is walking back and forth to his dish. I've been so busy that I forgot to fill it - poor baby. When I work on my computer, there is nothing else on my mind until I get it just right.

OMG, after typing all this into an editor with a spell checker, then pasting it to this editor, I noticed that mis-spelled words are all of a sudden underlined. None were wrong, just didn't recognize words like Starby or AMHD, etc. Glad that the spell checker here works again.

Now, I really have to go and feed Larry and check what else I need to read and/or answer to, so I'll leave here for now and hope that all of you have a wonderful Sunday evening.

Need to also watch a comedy on TV to settle down a bit - have not had such busy and frustrating day at home like these in a while - it did do me some good though. Proved to me that my brain still works and that I need to keep my cool as much as possible and also my sense of humor.

So, C.U. later,

Starby, just in case you wonder what toy and want to see what I mean, here are a few links of interest..

ArtRage 2 (http://www.ambientdesign.com/)

The above is the link to the ArtRage program that I want - the free version does not have the glitter and other stuff, but it's cool too. When I checked out the tutorials, I watched how a parrot was painted and was amazed..

carlo cartun: Night Mare (http://carlocartun.blogspot.com/2008/06/night-mare.html)

Here is a homepage of a guy who swears by ArtRage and he's good at it, I've looked at all of his stuff. Absolutely super.

Wacom Products (http://www.wacom.com/productinfo/index.cfm)

Here are the products that I have the Graphire 4 from, but the Bamboo One is not available in the US just the Bamboo and Bamboo Fun. The US Wacom site does not have the ArtRage link, but sell a lot of stuff from Corel. Plus, believe it or not, the Tablets and pen sets are at least 40% cheaper on the WACOM Europe site. I guess money rules!

Going to watch the Babynator with Vin Diesel - that looks like fun.

TTFN,

Momma C, Stawby and I were watching Barbie does Dallas and Stwingy came and took the remote contwol and changed the channel to football. He won't give back the remote and he's blocking the TV. Stawby's cwying in the cowner, Barbie hadn't even got to Dallas yet when Stwiny changed the channel.

Stwingy's a mean bwudder, give him a paddling. Now we'll never know what Barbie does in Dallas. :(

I can't even see the pawt where Ken catches Bawbie in Dawass! Awl I can see is Stwingy's rear end, and some guy's pwaying on gwass and Momma, I think Stwingy spway painted our fwont lawn! It woks wike there's numbers and lines painted on it, and he has fwiends over, and they are wunning back and fourth, and hitting each other. They've got a football, and they are gwabbin each others butts!

They're weird Momma!

Yup, and I saw Stwingy slap one of his fwends wif a towel and then yell "Hoora!" Momma, they're scaring me and Stawby. All we want to do is watch Barbie, Ken and the three other guys that are in the movie. I want to know what she does in Dallas. :(

Momma make Stwingy stop.

Ouch, he just wacked me with the towel, that stings, but isn't entirely bad. I'm confused. :(

There are girlz in the yard too Momma! They are wearing weally short skirts, and doing some sort of a chant! Stwingy must have picked them up in the wrong part of town! I think the girlz are twying to hurt each other! They are standing on each overs shwoulders!

Momma... 2 year olds shouldn't be watching movies like that anyway... I was just being the brother and son you always wanted me to be... I tried to save her from herself... but it was hopeless... she is a feen...

Besides, their 2 year old minds couldn't handle the "truth" anyway. Even though it was football Alty was on all fours watching the TV screen with her tongue hanging out. The other guys thought she was crazy and something had to be wrong with her she had a wild crazy blank stare in her eyes.

Well... I was very embarrassed Momma to tell you the least! Half of the guys left because of how she was acting and one said that I should call a doctor... "this 2 year old has a serious problem... "

Coloring book downloads - Agil's Coloring Book freeware download - Best Freeware Download (http://www.bestfreewaredownload.com/freeware/k-coloring-book-t-free-agil-s-coloring-book-freeware-crguxacr.html)

It's OK honey, you didn't miss much, she just winds up getting used and isn't there for the scenic view, that's for sure. Download the coloring book in the link above and have something better to do. I'm working on some Care Bear pictures to add to the collection of pictures already in that program and then all you will have to do is place them in the right directory and they'll be ready to color too. Share it with friends that have kids of all ages.

Stringer, I will see if I can get you a TV for you room, but if they watch that Barbie stuff again, interrupt - that's being a responsible brother and I'm proud of you.
I feel OK, thanks, nothing new has cropped up, so every day without new problems is a good day.

Since I lost all my recent pictures, I lost the one of you and Marta too. Could you please send me the one of you and Marta that you sent me in the card via email? That one would be just perfect to make a puzzle for you - with all the colors - just great.

I think I'll call it a day now that my computer is up and running, and Larry is ready for bed. There are a few shows to watch and fall asleep to - maybe I'll get at least a few hours rest before my legs wake me.

Night, night all.

You're right, it is late so what are you doing up...

You know that I love to hear from you all no matter what time it is. It is almost three in the morning here and I still cannot think of sleeping. There is just so much going on in my mind and not even TV shows divert me this time.

I just got through reading a post from a newbie, a young man of 18 who has had a relationship for 3 years with the same girl. Well, it's over and he wrote down his thoughts... you've just got to read it sometime, he's more mature that some men who have been around and playing. I really enjoyed reading his thoughts- refreshing!

So, I'll just wait till I'm crispy enough or until Larry gets so persistent that I have to lay down just so he can sleep.

Starby (post 509)
It's called playing football, and the lawn will grow and be mowed again before the winter - by next year it will be good as new. Barbie and Ken usually go to Vegas to have a good time, so Dallas is not that cool, just a bunch of oil wells and old rich political candidates. Try out the coloring book, it's more fun and you can pick the colors of your choice.

Alty (post 510)
Same thing honey, I'm sure you've heard of erotic and exotic movies, well they do the same thing in all of them, and if you've seen one, you've seen them all. Even Care Bears or Strawberry Shortcake have a better story line than these old 'Dallas' movies, so don't fret. Tag football is the type of game that uses towels (or tags) instead of knocking the other guy down. It's a fun game and might be even more fun to watch than the dumb movie.

Starby (post 511)
No starby, they are not from the wrong side of town. They are what we call cheerleaders and they usually cheer on their teams to motivate them to win. It's a show and mostly for the men, but honest, they come from a better part of town than that Barbie you girls wanted to watch. So, cuties, just settle down and join in cheering, those guys out there just might like it and offer to buy you some ice cream after the game. The ice cream truck is due to come by in about 30 minutes anyway, so be patient.

Stringer (post 512)
Now Stringer, you know that two-year-olds have a short attention span, and next time they act like that, just do something else to divert their attention, and tell them the ice cream truck is coming and if they don't behave, they get none. That will at least have them think about something else for a few minutes.

Remember when you were two? You were in one place one minute and another the next, couldn't keep you still - and that's normal at that age. You used to stop what you were doing every time a commercial came on the TV, the show never interested you, just the commercial and the music - just like my grandson Alexander right now. Heck, he'll stop eating, playing, anything - when a commercial comes on. Hah, and the producers of these commercials thought they'd get the attention of the people with money... NOT. Kids that age don't have money or buying power, so someone thought wrong.

OK, now the three of you get in your PJs, brush your teeth and get ready for a story and a hug because it's a little late for you to be up.

Gosh, I hope the lawn doesn't look too bad, we might just have several tag teams wanting to play. Well, at least that way, you'll all make new friends if you behave..

Are you done brushing? Come get them hugs, and let's settle down.

Honest, I will not 'war paint' anyone unless asked from now on. It was just so tempting because the girls were so playful that day. And you know how hard it is to keep hyper kids busy and turn destructive into constructive.. it was just a good idea then.

I have a special graphics directory and don't let Windows place any of my personal stuff under the default my pictures, my documents, etc directories. It still did not prevent me from the loss because I had to do a recovery.. that's why it's always a good idea to keep a re-writeable CD or DVD to update on a regular basis with your important files.

I think I'm ready to rest a bit now, Larry has been running around and growling - he acts like that when he's upset so momma has to soothe him too.

He's always there for all of us and I will always love him for that.

Jerry, yup, they love to tease him but it's all in good fun. How about volunteering one of your pictures so that we can 'paint' you too?
It's always fun trying out new things.. I just bet you put those ants out there beause you knew the girls would be curious.. ha,ha. You're a little prankster too!

Starby, that's what you get when you don't ask first. I know how tempting things can get, but trouble is also just around the corner, so be a little more careful from now on dear. If those ants bit you, put onion juice on, it will stop the itching right away - and old remedy but it works and the smell goes away quick, so don't worry.

Have any of you seen any funny shows lately? Tell me about them. I like funny shows and laughter does us all a lot of good.

Momma has to go and do some real work now while I can still walk a bit, my laundry stack is moving, so I have to find out what's underneath... has anyone see Alty?. Alty, are you under that stack of clothes? If so, then you can just move toward the washing machine and help me dump them in, OK?

Momma, you wanted a "funny:"

Two men are sitting at the bar at the top of the Empire State Building drinking, when the first man turns to the other one and says: 'You know, last week I discovered that if you jump from the top of this building, by the time you fall to the 10th floor, the wind around the building is so intense that it carries you around the building and back into the window.'

The bartender just shakes his head in disapproval while wiping the bar, but says nothing.

The second guy says, 'What? Are you insane? There's no way in hell that could happen!'

'No, no... it's true...' said the first man, 'let me prove it to you.' He gets up from the bar, jumps over the balcony and plummets toward the street below. When he passes the 10th floor, the high wind whips him around the building and back into the 10th floor window. He takes the elevator back up to the bar. He meets the second man , who is astonished.

'Oh my God, I saw that with my own eyes! But that must 've been a one-time fluke. That was scientifically impossible!'

'No, I'll prove it again,' says the first man as he jumps.

Again, just as his body hurtles towards the street, the 10th floor wind gently carries him around the building and into the window. He takes the elevator back to the bar.

Once upstairs, he successfully convinces his dubious fellow drinker to try it. 'Well, what the hell,' the second guy says, 'I've seen that it works, so I'll try it!'

He immediately jumps over the balcony - plunges downward rapidly passes the 11th, 10th, 9th, 8th floors... . Then his body hits the sidewalk... . Splat!!!!!

Back upstairs, the bartender who had been silent the whole time turns to the first drinker, and shakes his head and says.....

'You know, Superman, you're a real a**h*le when you're drinking.'

Now that, I didn't expect. It's the first time I heard that one. Cool!

Want to know how you can insult someone that tells bad jokes?
Just state that the last time you heard that one, you were still in diapers.

I heard that on a TV show today and almost cracked up.

Going to post some pictures that you could not open. By the way, if I send you the Jigs@w Puzzle, it will be an *.exe file that you will have to open, or I could send it through 'Yousendit.com' and you can download it that way.. Let me know which would work.

Awe, how cute. When I had a bunny, it never saw the outside. I had a cage and then also let it walk around the house and sit with us. She was a cute little one and clean too.

OK, now I'm going to post some pictures from the ArtRage2 Forum. This is the program that my daughter ordered for me today, and your finished products, when you are good at it, look like real oil paints, so I just wanted to share these which were uploaded by others with you. I already found a few styles that are my favorite...

So, here goes.. I named the files wrong, instead of lilies, they should be lotus.. but they are nice. The last one is by someone else and his style is also nice enough to want to escape into the scenes. Hope you like them.

Honey, that was absolutely super! I get newsletters from the Simple Truths too but I missed that one. Thank you for sharing. I can just see Alexander asking his mom to explain all of those... the sooner he starts seeing and learning about things like this in life, the better.

His other grandparents would also really enjoy that clip. Both are (were) teachers, grandpa a retired preacher too, and his Dad reads at least 2 books a week (my kind of guy) - I'm sure Alex will get a lot of wise nurturing in his life from all of those role models - and naturally the patient love and understanding from his Mom. Knowing that he will have all this support while growing up makes me feel at peace and secure that he's got a chance in life. What more can a grandmother want for her loved ones?

Don't be surprised that within 14 years, there will be a young 'newbie' on AMHD saying hi to his grandma's old friends and thanking you all for those wonderful post cards and other gifts. I keep copies of links to threads here for him to check out when he's old enough. And naturally, all of your cards and letters - heck he'll have a super collection all thanks to my AMHD family.

Just got my third infusion today and next is a CT to see if this regimen is worth repeating - they hope that my monster has slowed down a little. After all, I promised my brother that I'd still be here at Christmas when he comes over to visit me. And, I've got to keep my promises, sometimes not on time, but better late than never.

Enclosing two pictures that I got from my 'little' brother who lives in Vegas. He was at a friend's wedding in Hawaii at the time. He's my very own Care Bear!

Until next time,

It is really someplace very special isn't it M... last time was our honeymoon for 16 days. It took me a day or so to really relax... but then it was like heaven on earth. Every day was exceptional, significant, unique, unusual, extraordinary, educational, memorable and very festive along with being peaceful. :):) I would love to be able to live there.

Until the day before we had to get ready to come back and I started thinking about business again... well you know how it is...

Ah Hawaii, love it, love it, love it. I too went on my honeymoon, and believe it or not we actually did get out of the hotel room often enough to see a lot of Hawaii. :);)

I would go back in a heartbeat, but with two young children it would be hard. Maybe in a few years, when the rugrats are older. ;)

I landed there with my family on the way to Japan at the age of 10, so I did not get to see much of it. My brother Ed was in training there on a military base a while ago and he said it is expensive to live there. It was the first time there for John, as he was later born in Japan, so was Ed. I bet, because there just is no more room on an island for more real-estate, unless we build an underground(water) city. Imagine something like in 'Seaquest'.

Now, imagine Japan in the 60's, where the dollar was worth 390 Yen, too bad I was just a kid then and had two new brothers to care for. Didn't have much of a 'childhood' per say. School was fun and swimming every day of the year (no arthritis flares there). And I love the Japanese food and culture and still make my own sushi - also have a few material memory items from there. One of my favorites is a black Sake set with solid gold flowers on it. Going to let John (little brother) have it to keep as a family memory.

Just got done cleaning my email folders, and they really needed it. Had a long day, wonderful emails, and going to round off the evening playing a computer game that I got addicted to (Rebound Infinity). I use the 'kids' skill level where I don't lose a ball, yeah, I'm still a kid.

Glad Hawaii brings back nice memories for some of you, It is a beautiful state.

I love my pay TV National Geographic and the History channel too. And there is not one science fiction show that I have missed yet (at least the ones that are aired here). Andromeda is not bad either. I just love Richard Dean Anderson and Kevin Sorbo - wouldn't throw them off the bed.. yes I would because there's more room to play there. Seriously, I think both of them are great actors and don't cause a scene in public, plus have stable family lives... just like you my love. So hurry with that clone..

How about Jeremiah, now... that would be a wacky new world to think of if those greedy nuts keep ruining things for real with their New World Order crap. Let's find an Island and get 'Lost' too. But it's got to have all the TV shows saved on a huge computer that will last forever. We can choose which re-runs we want to watch after swimming and fishing.

What kind of shows does Marta like?

Who's Wiggy? Did I miss something?

Crazy Wiggy is right. ;)

How to explain? You see Momma C, when choosing my username I wasn't at all creative, you see, I didn't think I'd be here that long, ask my question, get an answer, leave. So, when I chose my username I figured I'd pick something I wouldn't forget, my last name. :(

When hubby was in school no one could pronounce Altenweg correctly, they said "Otanwig",before hubby knew it they shortened it to Wig, then started calling him Wiggy. That's how Wiggy was born.

When Wiggy was 19 he met a wonderful, gorgeous, intelligent, vivacious, absolutely terrific girl, 5 years later he married her.

So you see, Wiggy is my hubby, the lucky guy. ;)

And yes, I am that gorgeous, intelligent, vivacious, absolutely terrific, don't forget mother of his children, cleaner of his home, cooker of his meals, girl. Darn that man lucked out. ;)

Stringer, you might feel a little down due to the contract issues and hard work, but you certainly are a winner with Marta when it comes to personal happiness - and that counts a lot. You'll always be a winner to me and your 'sisters' here too, love.

I don't get much football here, but I do watch the Super Bowl faithfully each year and love it. Have no particular favorite team, but the one that I should be loyal to as Jaime was born there, are the Gators and I actually liked watching them and the Dolphins when I was there. While in California, it was the 'niners' even though I lived near L.A. (Garden Grove - where the Glass Chapel in Religious TV Show is) but at that time I did not have much time for TV - had two jobs while my 'hubby' had none.

OK, go get the ice cream, just take the puppies with you so that they can clean the floor right away, just in case. So try not to get chocolate because it's not good for the doggies.

Batman, it's two against one, so I got to give you those three lashes with a wet noodle, just wear extra padding and get it over with.. then get a hug before you go to bed.

OK,Ok... Boys, what are you still doing up?

I know that girls at that age can think of quite a lot of stuff and plan it well. It's all a part of 'girl training', but it's kind of hard to explain to my favorite boys. When you grow up, you'll figure out all the games they play and will be able to hold your own in any game they throw at you, I promise. Because you see, there is also 'boy training' and I was going to start that sometime soon. The best is sometimes just to ignore them and they'll get bored because there is no longer any resistance - don't fight back when your feelings are hurt, wait until things settle and then plan your moves.

Alty baby, you need to please take the cover off Stringer's bed and wash it out with your hands - not in the washer because it's one I made by hand and it cannot be washed in the machine. Sorry you got yourself into this, but it will be over soon. You should have stopped after you washed your hands and got your hug, and not gone into his room. And now I know you're fibbing a little because I threw those books in the fireplace two nights ago - and they were not really that bad. I guess Wiggy won't be able to spend the night - maybe next time you'll think before you leap into something.. might keep you out of a lot of doodoo (if you know what I mean). OOPS, too late, now you two girls are all wet.

Starby honey, who's idea was this all? Never mind, tomorrow is another day and we can start over with a clean slate. Just get ready for bed and don't forget to brush your teeth - dry PJs too please. I want you girls to stay healthy.. and look Alty is already sneezing, so get the Vicks for me too, please.

Oh, now that was a good one boys. Please dry the rabbit off real good and keep him warm, I don't want him to get sick. Oh, and you boys mop up the floor too , please, we don't want to slip now or in the morning - that could really hurt.
M.. So you boys got the idea from YouTube- cute, but those people were laughing, our girls aren't laughing - that's the difference. Play with water outside from now on, OK..

Now, is the bunny dry, and the bed cover hanging in the bathroom, and all of you have fresh PJs on? Good, come here and get your hugs before going off to bed, I'm a bit tired and tomorrow is another day. Can't wait to see what you guys will come up with next, so got to collect energy to keep up with you. Maybe we can all play some tag-football, and I mean all of us.

Night, night, sweeties, C.U. tomorrow.

Alty darling, I hope you won't catch a cold, and I'm sorry for being a little upset with you, but you seem to always like to pull your pranks close to bedtime and that's when I'm really worn out from a long day. So find a better time to play so that we can all figure out something to keep busy. You were just bored at the wrong time, dear. Now, tell Wiggy good night and I'll see you all tomorrow.

Love you.

Oh, yes, Stringer... the MOSTEST, honest. And I have enough love for all of you - even more tomorrow after some rest.

Well same procedure, so get out all the paper towels... alty, you sit still on the floor now and don't get this on the furniture... it'll be off soon, I know that smell is bad and it burns your nose and eyes, but you'll be OK...

OK, Alty, no more taking ideas from TV and trying them out unless you ask me first. I'll let you know if it's safe to do or if you will get into some real trouble if you try. And this tar-and-feathering is NOT going to happen while I'm still alive. And Stringer promised that he'd leave the Vicks in the jars where it belongs. But is seems like a can of worms has been opened as the boys now a talking about a 'bug' they sent to Starby's computer. So I'll have to check this out. Of course this will take time away from you when I'm busy with other stuff... think about that for a while, all of you..

Starby, I will try and fix Mr. Bear, but please don't do anything with the cars.. I would like to do something today with all of you and if I get interrupted too much by your little pranks, I won't be able to think of something nice. I see Starty too, girls, and I wish you three would help me plan on an activity that will be fun for all of us. So, leave the boys alone for a while, and I'll try to stop them from planning any schemes for today.

Hi Sneezy, how are you doing? Don't loose your cool dear, I hope to calm them all down a bit, and you can help me with this, OK..

Starby, did you have that dumb old dream about the 'middle' ages again... see what all that ruckus and ice cream can do so late in the evening. I don't think any of you need another sugar-shock today. So stay away from the ice cream truck.

I had a whole 2 hours of sleep last night, so I am not at my best, but will try and think of something for you all to do after your naps. If you cannot sleep, then just stay in bed for an hour reading or watching TV for kids, and give me time to collect myself Maybe I'll get the trampoline out of the garage later and the six of you (oops, seven with starty) can jump around for a while, then I think we'll go to the park with the dogs and teach them how to catch frisbies.. what do you think of that? But, NO ice cream today..

It seems that after the Avastin infusion yesterday, I was all wired - (three bottles of ingredients, and one of them was a cortizone, and I think that acted like speed for me - so another side-effect) and the rash is starting, so I'll need someone to help me apply calamine lotion to my back later on. Don't want Momma C look like she's a mental case itching on the bench in the park later..

So, I'm going to rest a bit now, and I promise that if anyone of you starts anything during this time, all of you will pay for it... today is going to be a 'nice' day.. OK?

So you've seen Starty too. Yes, she is a pretty powerful young lady and I wish she'd help the girls stay out of trouble - but they can be a handful.

I remember that old tale - There was an old woman who lived in a shoe, she had so many children, etc. That brings back memories for sure. What are you up to this weekend. Maybe you can help me find something to keep the kids busy having fun instead of scheming new pranks to play. It hurts me to seem when my kids are kranky or bored. Maybe there is a bit of jealousy on both sides, but there is no reason to be, so I'll have to research that a bit and try to calm their fears in that area.

Thanks rebby, you are such a good listener and great friend.

Have a wonderful weekend - and let me know how Nicki is doing, OK?

MommaC, I know what we can do. :)

Wiggy and family are buying a puppy tomorrow, yes, a puppy. I know, we're crazy, but there is sound reasoning behind this decision.

You see, our older dog Indy is 13 years old, his health is failing, he's going downhill quickly (okay, now I'm crying :(). He's a lab mix, we've had him since he was a wee puppy, he's our first baby, we love him so. We also have a border collie cross, he's almost 7 years old, his name is Jasper.

Jasper and Indy are a pair, even though Indy was already an adult when Jasper puppy came into our lives, they bonded instantly. They sleep together, clean each other, eat together, protect each other. Now that Indy's eyesight is failing, Jasper leads him around (it's the border collie in him). I can't imagine our home without Indy, I can't imagine not seeing that beautiful kind caring face every day. He's the biggest lovey, my baby.

Here's our dilema. We're worried about Jasper, about what the loss of Indy will do to him. We will all be devastated when he passes, that's no doubt, but the bond that Jasper has with Indy, well, when Indy's gone I'm worried that Jasper might follow becaue of depression. I've seen it happen so often with dogs, I don't want it to happen here.

So, we've decided to get another dog now, start the bonding process with Jasper with a new puppy. I'm hoping that Indy might perk up a bit too with a puppy around, I'm also hoping that the puppy will learn from Indy, like Jasper did when he came to live with us.

This is not a spur of the moment decision, we've actually been talking about it for many months now. We've decided on a beagle puppy. We'd like a smaller breed so that the kids can walk him/her. We've decided on a puppy because the kids have never experienced a puppy before. We've decided to get this puppy tomorrow, we saw an ad in the paper, fell in love with the pictures of the puppies and will be meeting with these people tomorrow. It's not for certain yet, I have to bond with the puppy before I'll consider adopting, but, well, let's face it, it's a puppy, I'm sure I'll be bonding pretty darn quick.

So, that's the plan, don't try to talk me out of it, but I'd be glad to hear your comments. :)

Indy is laying at my feet sound asleep dreaming. I wish I knew what he dreams about, I hope it's us. :) Tears are running down my face, how did 13 years go by so quickly?

We will decide turns later and in a fair way! Don't bicker now lovies, Momma C and I will figure a fair way so all are content. We love youssssssssss!!

Alty Honey, I think that's a good idea. I raised poodles and my Momma had four puppies in one litter, I gave three away, but just had to keep one. The also bonded, played, protected and cleaned each other all the time, and they also protected me everywhere we went. Baby, the mom had mitral valve insufficiency and I had to have her put to sleep, was there with her and took her home with me. Years later BunBun, her baby died of cancer - same pain, same mourning. And since I could not physically go out in cold weather with dogs anymore, I decided to get another cat -who just ironically was up for adoption. Larry and I are a pair - a better partnership than I could ever wish for. He's old too and I might have to put him to sleep before my time comes as he is sick to and won't ever accept anyone else in his life - he'd rather die first. So, you see, I can relate to your decision and wish you well with the bonding and reception at home with the new family member.

No matter what he dreams about, he knows he's home and that's where he would rather be until the very end, and we know that. You will always have your memories, and you can tell me them over and over, and I will listen and enjoy them too. So will the rest of us.

Let me know how it went love, and naturally, after taking pictures of all three I'd like you to send me some.

Love you, Momma C.

MommaC, I'm bawling now.

Pets bring so much joy into our lives, unconditional love, always ready for hugs and kisses, all they ask in return is a warm bed, some food and the occasional kind word, but even that isn't necessary. They'd go anywhere with us. If it meant living on the streets, no food for days or weeks and harsh words, they'd still stand by our side. Now that's love.

I will always have my memories, and I'd love to share them with all of you. Indy as a puppy was a bundle of energy, a mischievous little imp. He destroyed more furniture and carpet than any dog I've ever had. When he was a wee little guy he got a few harsh words from Momma, but he quickly learned his place, and quickly found a place in my heart.

We got Indy shortly after we came back from our honeymoon. He's been with us from the beginning and he's been through so many changes and taken them all in stride.

Kids, another dog, bunnies, birds, fish, hamsters, and never a growl.

He was content to sleep beside me on the bed when I was pregnant with Jared, but just as content to take his place on the floor after Jared was born. He stood still while Jared was learning to walk and pulled himself up using Indy, even though Jared pulled Indy's hair out during this process Indy never growled or nipped, he didn't say a word, because he loved our new puppy human.

When my dad died and I screamed for five days at God and the injustices of this world, when I pushed everyone I love away so I could be alone with my misery, Indy wouldn't leave my side, no matter what. He sat with me as I cried, he didn't have to do anything but be there, he understood, and now, so do I.

When his time comes, although it will be hard, I will not leave his side, no matter what. I won't say a word, I'll just hold him and love him, like I have since he came into my life.

How quickly life flies by. We're always so busy, things to do, people to see, we often miss the moments that matter, the moments that will sustain us in the end. We can't ever get those moments back, we have to enjoy them when they are happening, we have to take the time. One day those moments, those memories are all we'll have left.

Darnit, where's my kleenex? :(

I will never be able to find another Indy, no one can take his place in my heart, but thankfully I have a big heart and plenty of room. I hope that Indy knows how much we love him, I wish he could say, I understand, I know, and I feel the same way. That's what dogs teach us, to show love, not say it, to express love without words. If only people were like dogs, this world would be a wonderful place.

Sorry everyone, I'm feeling a bit sappy today. :(

I've lost several dogs in my life, but none were as hard as losing my Pepsi Girl and Kirby Boy... and they didn't even die! Well geezzz now I'm dripping tears! That big ugly Brit came and stole them from Mommie! They were here all happy and content one minute, and gone that next! I've never seen them since. I miss and worry about them so much. No one ever gave them attention like their mommie did. Mean daddy ignored them. But I've got my special Nikster, and she makes my life better everyday! :)

Starby, every time a door closes someone opens a window. If events hadn't taken place as they did, you wouldn't have Niki. If you hadn't come into Niki's life when you did, she would no longer be on this earth. In other words, everything happens for a reason. :)

It's amazing how quickly the time goes by. I remember when we first brought Indy home. He was a teeny little thing, I could hold him quite easily. He was all black, not a bit of white on him. He was a brave little guy, full of piss and vinegar and puppy adventure. When he wagged his little tail glasses fell off tables and dust flew through the air. My parents loved him too, and boy did he love them.

When Jasper came into our lives as a rescue at 4 months old, he was skin and bones, beaten, scared and untrusting. He wanted nothing to do with humans, I couldn't blame him, he'd never been treated well by humans before.

Indy accepted little Jasper right away, there was no question. He moved aside so that Jasper could eat out of his bowl, he let Jasper play with his toys, he let Jasper sleep on his bed, and I'm very sure he told Jasper that the humans that they own are good humans indeed.

It took a while, but Jasper came around. Jasper loves us, no question, but Indy is his favorite, I have no doubt of that. Jasper would die for Indy, in a heartbeat, I know that he would. I hope that Jasper can bond with another dog the way he's bonded with Indy, I hope that Indy can once again teach Jasper to trust, love and give. That would be Indy's final gift to Jasper.

Darn dogs and their short life span. I sometimes wonder if it's worth the heartache when adopting a dog. Who am I kidding, it's worth it, it really is, but that doesn't make it less hard when the end is near. :(

Gosh I'm in a mood today. Who would have thought that getting a new puppy would be so emotional? I know why, I do, even though I really don't want to voice it. I think you all know why as well.

I know, you've had a rollercoaster week! I think it will be good for Indy to have a little puppy running around, and good for Jasper. It might make the pain a little less for him when it's Indy's time to go.

I would never give up Niki for the world, and I know she wouldn't give me up either! I know that she knows I saved her life, and she returned the favour by saving mine. She's laying beside me having funny dreams I think. It looks like she is chasing something! Probably a skunk or snake! LOL!

I just wish I could at least visit with Kirby and Pepsi. I'll never forget the confused and torn look on their faces while they were being yanked away from me in the middle of the night. The worst part is I know they didn't understand why I wasn't there with them anymore, and I wonder from the things I've seen and heard about Leatherface, if they are being fed, given water, or taken to the vet. I used to do all of that, and from all I've heard, she is a very uncaring person. N used to say it was okay if the dogs didn't have food for several days at a time. I NEVER let that happen! I would've starved before I let them go without. I've asked the kids to ask him how they are, but all he ever tells them is "they're fine", and that's it. So I just hope they are. I did hear from Ben that Kirby hips are really bad, and that he has a lot of problems getting up and walking. I sure hope they've taken him to get checked out, and have him on some meds for dysplaysia.

Okay... enough of thinking about that. It's only going to make me sadder for them, and it's not going to start my day off well. ;)

GOD CREATED CHILDREN (AND IN THE PROCESS GRANDCHILDREN)

To those of us who have children in our lives,
Whether they are our own,
Grandchildren, Neices, Nephews, or students...
Here is something to make you chuckle.

Whenever your children are out of control,
You can take comfort from the thought that
Even God's omnipotence did not extend
To His own children.

After creating heaven and earth,
God created Adam and Eve.

And the first thing he said was
' DON'T !'

'Don't what ? '
Adam replied.
'Don't eat the forbidden fruit'
God said.

'Forbidden fruit ?
We have forbidden fruit ?

Hey Eve.. we have forbidden fruit ! '
' No Way ! '
'Yes way ! '
'Do NOT eat the fruit ! '
Said God.
'Why ? '
'Because I am your Father and I said so ! '
God replied,
Wondering why He hadn't stopped
Creation after making the elephants.

A few minutes later,
God saw His children having an apple break
And He was ticked !
'Didn't I tell you not to eat the fruit ? '
God asked.

'Uh huh,'
Adam replied.
'Then why did you ? '
Said the Father.

'I don't know,'
Said Eve.
'She started it! 'Adam said.

Did not ! '

DID TOO! '

'DID NOT ! '

Having had it with the two of them,
God's punishment was that Adam and Eve
Should have children of their own.

Thus the pattern was set and it has never changed.

If you have persistently and lovingly tried to give children wisdom and
They haven't taken it,
Don't be hard on yourself.
If God had trouble raising children,
What makes you think it would be A piece of cake for you ?

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT !
1 You spend the first two years of their life teaching them to walk and
Talk.
Then you spend the next sixteen telling them to sit down and shut up!

2 Grandchildren are God's reward for not killing your own children.

3 Mothers of teens now know why some animals eat their young.

4 Children seldom misquote you.
In fact, they usually repeat word for word what you shouldn't have said

5 The main purpose of holding children's parties Is to remind yourself
That there are children more awful than your own

6 We childproofed our homes, but they are still getting in.

ADVICE FOR THE DAY:

Be nice to your kids.
They will choose your nursing
Home one day ;

AND FINALLY:

IF YOU HAVE A LOT OF TENSION

AND YOU GET A HEADACHE,

DO WHAT IT SAYS
ON THE ASPIRIN BOTTLE:
'TAKE TWO ASPIRIN'
AND 'KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN'!!

Alty,, Get as sappy as you want to dear. All my pets who left me in the past are still in my memories and will stay there forever! And the understanding/communication we shared was based on the love between us. Sometimes we are lucky enough to get half that much understanding with our human loved ones - that's why it's good to be able to choose our words with which to communicate and bond accordingly. This is what makes us different from our animal loved ones and is completely understandable and unique. So, yes I quite understand the emotional trip you are taking and you certainly don't have to explain further - I feel it honey and am emotionally right there by your side. I'm sure that Jasper will follow in Indy's pawsteps and be just as wonderful as a role-model.

When I was pregnant in Georgia, we visited friends in Virginia and took my cat BoBo with us. My ex suggested that we should leave Bobo with them as he feared that the baby would be threatened by him. So, at that time, even though it hurt, I agreed for sake of avoiding arguments, and left BoBo there. He was OK with our friends, but three months later, he was at my doorstep back in Georgia.. After that, I swore that all my pets would never have to go through a journey like that again. Funny, how all my dogs and cats never accepted my ex and I thought it was because he did not care for animals as much as I did.. they knew what sort of human he was and it took me a bit longer to grasp it.
Starby, through moving from one county to another often, I too had to leave a few loved ones behind, and it hurt like heck! But I at least had the knowledge that they were going to be taken good care of. I just hope that Brit who took our babies is taking good care of them. And Nicki loves loves you, you know that as well as I do, and will always stay with you - forever - in your arms and heart.
As you and Alty said, some things are meant to happen. I would rather not eat for a week myself just to make sure that Larry had his favorite food - he deserves that much from me with all the unconditional love I get from him.
Hey, no matter how a day starts, there is always room for improvement as it goes on.. so Alty, go and get that new puppy and we'll get all maudlin again.
It's OK to have these types of emotional rollercoasters - that's what makes us human.

Starby, that little post about children and grandchildren was absolutely super! I copied and sent it off to my daughter right away and let her know that I think she is a SUPER MOM!

As for sneaking over and seeing your lost babies, they would remember you and probably want to run off with you, so it's your call to make and I'll support you all the way. Just think it through though before acting upon it.

Stringer honey, polish that badge, but leave the plucking... You and M can find so many more fun things to do without the girls today. Let them go and travel a little down memory-lane - as long as they do that, they'll have no time to think of teasing you guys - take the break and be thankful. My brother John has three dogs now and one of them is a dalmatian - I think they are so cute, but I like all breeds of dogs and cats of any size. I just feel a little sorry for the doggies and cats that look like god played a joke and smashed their faces in because they have a lot of sinus problems - poor babies.. This naturally was not 'creation's' doing, it was some dumb human trying to play god..

Alty, glad you still have your feather and think it was such a wonderful thing for you to make those cookies - save one for me, but enjoy the rest with the boys. I think, that after raking the leaves today, we might just jump into the pile and start all over again - does that sound like fun? Let's have a nice fun day and forget the pranks of last week. You'll probably think of something else soon, but not this weekend, OK? The same goes for you boys!

Hey M, enjoy the cookies and your visit to the castle. I might stop by there later if I find the time. Got to work on some puzzles this weekend and a new coloring book addition. So... I hope all you children get the hint that Momma C needs a break these next few days, so save your pranks..

Come get some hugs, and we will go out and find the rakes and get started. Make sure you are dressed accordingly..

Got to go and do some graphic work, so will see you later...

When my daughter, Michelle was 12 I got her a beautiful bright white with a lot of black spots Dalmatian and she named her "Pepsi."

Pepsi and Kirby were already named when they came home from the shelter. I wasn't crazy about the names at first, but they grew on me, and now I couldn't imagine them having any other names, although they did have lots of nicknames just like Niki does now. Pepsi was nicknamed "Fat Dog"... in an endearing way of course, and the same with Kirb, he was "dumb dog" although that sure wasn't true! I had tags and T-shirts made with those names on them for C'mas one yr. It just made us laugh, and heck, they didn't know or care! LOL! My ex was always jealous, because our nightly routine was to let them outside, and then bring them in for playtime and a cookie, and then off to bed. My stepson slept downstairs, and we were upstairs. Pepsi and Kirby acted like an old married couple that loved each other, but had no desire to sleep with each other anymore... LOL! They would always meet in the kitchen right as we were off to bed, and slobber all over each others faces. Pepsi would go off downstairs to sleep with Ben, and Kirby would wait for me, until I got into bed, and slept on the floor bedside me all night. The Poor Brit felt all left out... awwww... yeah, get over it! ;) Then in the morning, Pepsi and Kirby instinctively knew when the other was awake, and again would meet up in the kitchen, and the whole slobbery kisses started all over again! :D

If Niki knew some of the things I call her, she'd probably bite me! LOL! She has a ton of nicknames, and knows them all. Actually she gets called the other things more often than she gets called Niki! She knows I mean business when I call her Niki though. Most of the time she's Bubba, Bubbers, Blubberbutt, Freak, Fatty, Snickers, Miss Piggy, Nikster, Chucky... do you think she has enough names? I sound like the bully on the playground don't I?! LOL!

Okay... I don't know why that went on so long again! I just got to thinking about my babies again I guess. I'm still not crazy about the name Pepsi... but it wouldn't have mattered if her name was "dirt", I would've loved her just the same! :)

I'm not done writing yet like Momma said. I have to go and clean my freakin floor! My company lastnite didn't take off their shoes, and since it was SNOWING (yuk!) their shoes were wet, and they got mud all over my newly scrubbed floor! Figures! Some people just don't have any manners.

Hey, there JJ.. glad you stopped by here. Are you done or taking time out to play with us for a while?

Starby, guess what I call Larry most of the time... Bubba, Bubby, or Bubbers! It's amazing how we really do have a lot in common.

Stringer, when I had my Jag, I had to travel 200 kilometers to get her checked out at a Jag dealer - and here in Germany, you'd have thought that the germans would learn how to repair more than their own kind of vehicles. Near Ramstein Air Force Base, there is a better selection of 'specialists' as mostly all of the military here usually purchase European cars to take home when it's time to leave. The top right now are Saab, Volvo, BMW, Mercedes and now Toyota... all with American specifications. You can tell which they are because the germans don't like it when the locals have tinted windows... they want to look in - and take better pictures at radar traps. But they cannot prevent non-locals from ordering their vehicles with tinted glass. That just makes me sad.. NOT. I hope that the weather is nice to you and your arthritis while out there taking care of business.

Gosh, I'm grumpy today, and now even more... they have a Woody Allen marathon night on Turner Classic Movies (one of my original language channels) - and I never really liked him. Don't ask me why, but he never made anything 'click' movie-wise or actor-wise for me. But, you all know that I'm different, right?

I sure wish that they would air bowling tournaments here. I miss that. I used to bowl myself from childhood on, no matter how painful it was, but I just loved it so. Later, when I couldn't bowl anymore, I coached kids on how to improve their games. Even enjoyed getting to know some of the military top bowlers who made it as television celebrities now.

Outside of receiving and answering some nice emails from family and friends, nothing worked out as I planned - so forgive me if I am not in my best mood. I wanted to work on graphics, cut my hair, and get some sleep - all of which did not pan out. Instead of mind over body, this time the body won and it was not nice to me at all. This coming week, it's doctors, x-rays, blood tests, interview with a new nurse, getting new prescriptions and doing paperwork... just the thought is frustrating me. Sometimes, I just want to be left alone to relax and not have to worry about getting dressed and going out in all kinds of weather, waiting in lines with my oxygen cart - I don't even enjoy going shopping anymore..

OK, Momma is done ranting. If I'm lucky, I might get a few hours of sleep before the phone or doorbell ring.. And I hope that I've still got my smileys after rebooting my PC as I just installed a new security program against virus, spyware and spam.. so cross your fingers for me.

Thank you children for being nice to Momma C during this time and not thinking of any new pranks. That helped a lot.

So, lots of hugs and kisses, until next time.

Love,

Chery, you vent anytime you want. I could feel your frustration all the way over here and just want to fly over there and take your place this week so you could rest, feel no pain, enjoy your computer, Larry, fun memories and photos, Alex, Jamie, get dressed only if and when you want to, not have to have oxygen and be totally pain free. I know these words carry little because I cannot do these things but I would venture to bet anyone on this thread would do this and more for you if only we were even in the same country as you and could take your pain. We could all take turns. It would bless you and bless us by allowing us to help in some way! We love you so much Momma C!! You seem to be becoming more of an earthly anchor than perhaps you even realize to all of us! You have so much knowledge and wisdom. If we could take your pain even just for one day, if doctors would and could, there would be some fast changes in the medical field I believe. Be grumpy any time you need to... we are here for you! You have been and are always here for us!!

Stringer and M, you are the best! I know it was really difficult to be as good as you were and I am proud of you both also! You do remind me, however, a bit too much of my brother and his antics but I love you both anyway!! LOL

The Best! The best brothers, the best friends, the best michief makers, the best Sheriff and Deputy, the best Protector and Angel... ah.. ah.. well, does that cover everything? You didn't take the girls fishing and let them fall face down in the mud then get so tickled you couldn't help them up before they started choking on mud, did you?? See what I mean about my brother? His best friend had to help me out of the mud from the waters edge!! Oh, I could tell you so many stories about my brother but I don't want to give you two any more ideas! LOL

Don't think I didn't catch that little mischievous "hee hee" at the end of that sentence. We all love you all but we do know you are mischief makers and are always striving to improve. Right? That is what Momma C wants for us is to be the best we can be at whatever we be!! :)

Thanks hon. I have seen a show like this on German TV and thought it was funny, didn't know there was a real show like this... have noticed that the Europeans like to play copy-cat to game shows and other popular shows on air. They have even started their own Soaps now.. yuck.. not my style -
I'll stick to sci-fi and spy/detective series instead of soaps. Too bad Jerry has not hit the english-speaking programs here yet - would love to laugh at some of those people - I wonder where they get them from or who thinks of the subject matter... someone bored, yet talented enough to make money off this type of show.

Have to get ready for a nurse and my companion today, so will check on you a little later,

Hi my dear Momma C! I am just on my way to bed my sweets! I should have gone long ago actually, so my eyes are tired and blurry. I feel bad that I have only been sending you a few quick emails in the last few days! I'm just not too focused lately, and then get diverted onto all sorts of things, and feel I just don't get the things done that I'd like to!. like writing my usual letters to Momma!

Today is going to be an aggrivating day, I can tell that already. Thanksgiving and guilt things! I just unplugged my phone because of calls, so maybe I can get a little sleep now. Cross your fingers!

I hope your day goes well with your helpers, and I will write soon okay.

... oh and I'm sorry, your little girl loves her soap. The ones that are in Europe are a little different. Like Coronation Street... blah! I only watch one, but I have watched since I was 12 or 13, and even though it gets stupid, I just can't give it up! ;) Just another one of my many vices! LOL!

Stringer... that Italian son did a super job! That's what I would have done too - If you want things done, sometimes you have to use your imagination.

Alex saw the real 'Knutt' in the Berlin Zoo last year - he's a little bigger now and still enjoying himself. That was a lucky little bear as he was rejected by his Mom and had a wonderful foster-dad. Not even all two-legged children are that lucky.

Starby, I too like the US Soaps, but the only one they air here is Bold and Beautiful - you know, with Brooke? Since I have a few other things more important to do, I've stopped as they are a few years behind anyway. It's the German Soaps that get on my nerves - that's why I subscribed to the luxury of pay-tv.. my choice and no commercials, no biased news media that brainwashes either. I enjoy history channel and National Geographic - and naturally my Sci-Fi channel now. SpiderMan 3 is coming on this next Sunday, in german of course, but I'll enjoy it.

I received my new Bamboo One Tablet and Pen today! Now I just have to wait until I'm feeling better to play with it. Not up to par these last few days and wish I could get some sleep without pain. I'm really sick and tired of being 'sick'. Glad that the day is over and I will have a fews days of peace without interruptions at the door or phone.. Maybe I can get some rest now.

Start.. thanks honey, I know you are probably pretty busy but I also know that my 'warrior' is there...

This is Chewy, he's 8 weeks old. He's taken to us as quickly as we've taken to him. I'll write more later, just wanted to show you.

Unky, I don't think Stringer meant you had to condense all of your posts into one. I believe he probably was kidding with you, and laughing to himself, because every one he opened that day was a posting of yours. I've got it down to a pat myself. I know myself that if I get up early and there is a posting in the castle, Momma C's room, and a few others, that they will all be you, because of the time difference.

I always enjoy getting my morning read from our Unky! Don't stop doing that... Starby won't have anything to read in the morning! :(

Hi babies, missed you all. Could someone send post the link to this new 'room' please, because I'd like to see a picture of Chewy too.

M. I like the Crocducky! but poor thing, how and what does this species eat?

My fever finally broke and my tummy had an erruption - after a little baking soda - and I feel a little better. Now I just have to console myself that the moist weather out there will have fun with my bones. My new son-in-law also has arthritis and is in some serious pain - poor guy - but at least he has good physicians who found a med that works most of the time and he has learned to give himself his own shots. He didn't take his meds with him to San Fransisco, so now he's paying for it and I hope he's symptom-free soon. I had to remind Jaime that this is on both sides of the family, so when Alex complains - she should think about that and have him checked out - it could be more than just 'growing pains'.. Then I get the usual rolling eyes and 'yes, Mom' but at least it registers.

I finally got a whole cup of broth down today and also 1 1/2 hrs of sleep. Wow, I feel almost new. Don't know who I got this flu from, but I plan on wearing a mask from now on when around other people. Instead of taking a nice trip, my little family was also at home fighting a flu - too bad they didn't get to enjoy the weekend as planned.

OK, now I too understand about 'Thanksgiving'. When I was emailing about this, I thought wow, it's till so far away, now I know when Canadian Thanksgiving is, and I hope you survived it honey, with that family of your's - it's over now and soon will your pain of traveling so far- I hope!

I didn't get to the lake, I wasn't feeling well among other things... but boy am I ever paying for it today! I not being let off the hook for this one, and there are always consequences for not doing what I'm TOLD! Yes I'm 4 yrs old!. in my parents eyes. Uurrgghhh! I need a nap... yes seriously I do!

Yes, Thanksgiving is about a month earlier here. It's Columbus Day in the states. I don't really remember why, but whatever... LOL!

My computer is being stupid again, I've had no phone service on and off since Sunday, and since my wonderful brother didn't bring over the smart card for my satellite receiver... that he got about 2 months ago... I now have no TV chanells! So limited computer and phone, and no TV makes little Starby a very unhappy girl! Now he isn't even in town, so who knows when all of this will be fixed, although I've been asking politely for months. Maybe politeness is not the way to go?

I'm so sorry that you haven't been feeling well again. You don't need the flu on top of everything else. :( I'm glad you are feeling a bit better though. I wish Mother Nature would at least work with you! I know about the arthritis that comes with the damp or cold weather. I sure wish you could get down more than a cup of broth Momma! I wish I could make you your favouritist meal, and you could wolf it down! I would sing you a lullaby so you could get more sleep. Wait... that would probably have the opposite effect! LOL!

Well I better go for now. I forgot I was suppose to call the vet today to try and make an appt for Nik tomorrow on short notice, as per instructions from Mommie Dearest! Sorry... I'm not in the best of moods! ;)

Chery are doing alright? I haven't heard from you in awhile dear...
Hi my MOSTEST son,
Been a little much under the weather lately, and sent you and the inner circle sisters an extensive email today. It's been hard on me the last few days and it is finally getting a little better. Due for another CT tomorrow and that always depresses me a bit, having to think about my monster and waiting for further results - and hoping that someone can give me a better or more extensive prognosis. I'm usually good at suppressing and diverting my attention, but when it's Oncology time and x-ray time - the subject of the day depresses me a lot. Then this cold and stomach flu - well they have a party at my expense which I didn't invite them to and during that time, I don't want to have my family catch it, but this time it was also too late, they were all sick this past weekend and did not get to go on their trip - that makes me sad to know that my grandson was not feeling well and wished that I could have been with him to comfort him. To top it off, Jaime thought she'd spare me and did not call to tell me what was going on until yesterday - all this time I was worried because I did not hear from them and thought something had happened while they were on vacation. So, a lot had been going on in mind and body. I hope to be energetic and well enough to see him and hug the heck out of him this coming Saturday.

On my few moments of coherence, I checked out the ArtRage2 gallery forum and at least was able to enjoy some of the new art that some pretty talented people created - that was a plus. Here's the link for all of you to check out. When there, search for the gallery of SADCLOWN - one of my favorites. The new entries this week are also nice, especially the ballerina - so cute. I hope you enjoy new talent as much as I do. I just get a kick out of people that use their imagination, be it in art, decorations, music, well just about everything - because these are all gifts and I am thankful when people share this with me.
The Artrage Gallery (http://www2.ambientdesign.com/gallery/index.php)

One of your AMHD sisters has a site of her own too.. and has mostly her pencil art posted. She's going to have a show this weekend of acrylics on window-panes and I was honored to get a 'sneek-preview' of them. I hope that when the show is done, and she has relaxed enough, that she will also post some of her oils and acrylics here. She's absolutely talented.

So, now you know why I want pictures of your Halloween decorations - that too is a talent - and I want to see it all.

It amazes and saddens me that there is such talent out there, but most don't have the chance to let it develop when living in a rented flat, not having a shed or yard to let it flow due to people being scared of 'messes'. How are children supposed to find out what they are good at if not allowed to practice somewhere without being chided by complaining ignorant prunes. That was one of the reasons I created coloring books in PDF format of Disney, animals, cartoon characters and clowns and flowers and fish of all types for kids to print and color, so that they would have something fun to do. I even printed, and made my own books with a special machine myself and gave them away at talent shows - naturally the favorites were Mickey Mouse, and Daisey for the girls and Dinos for the boys. Now I just have to find the CDs on which I saved them and make copies to have Jaime send the CDs out to special people - starting with my AMHD family. I always sent them out for free, but the files were sometimes too big to email, and I quit for a while. I will make sure I update them and burn them on CD to send. Seeing happy kids, makes this kid happy.

So, those of you whose addresses I have, please don't be surprised if one day a CD arrives - depending on when Jaime will honor my request - it will be from me. Just recently found a new theme to add - the Care Bears - and am working on the pictures when able. Now that I have my new Tablet and Pen, I can work on my graphics again - and am really looking forward to it. Anyone and everyone who sent postcards can post their address in a PM and they will be on the list for Jaime to send the CD to. No matter what age or how many kids you have - coloring books are great gifts.

The first thing I do when visiting Alexander is to go outside on the terrace and bring out the box of colored chalk that I got him. We color a bit and he always insists that I draw a cat for him. He just loves cats and giggles when I make a funny one. When I show him pictures of all our past and present cats, he actually knows which cat belongs to whom... He calls Larry ''Ama Katze'' for grandma's cat. And then kisses the picture.

There are so many things I still want to do and I try to do as much as I can while my body is in the 'sitting mood' before my back and legs yell at me. Sometimes it gets downright frustrating, but as long as I am still able to, I will try and take full advantage. Getting my Ottoman ready for when the time comes where laying down in a halfway sitting position with a special tray for my laptop will be my only option - have already constructed special pillows - one has to get prepared.

My health insurance offered to order me a special bed, but unfortunately there is no room in my place.. so I have to make due with what I have right now. Besides, I hate hospitals and also beds that look like hospital furniture. It's bad enough that I have a noisy air compressor already. It's in my bathroom and the hose is long enough to reach into my living-room. My bathroom is right under my ex's bedroom, so when the compressor is on late at night, I know he hears it - and it secretly puts a smile on my face (aren't I just nasty), as he cannot deal with my tumor and avoids my eyes when we meet at the door or are out in the yard. I hope he feels really guilty sometimes for treating me crappy the last few years.

Boy, this is getting to be almost a book, but I had so much to catch up on and share. I hope you get the chance to enjoy the forum gallery in that link. That always puts a smile on my face when I see beauty still exists in the world.

So, now I'm going to 'play' with some graphics for as long as I can to divert my attention from what will be going on tomorrow.

Talk to you all again soon. I will keep you updated. I'm still here, and will put up a fight to the very end, I promise.

M... it's OK to be confused now and then, you're only human. Hope your studies don't tax you out too much and that you max out on the exams!

http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_3_16.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZSYYYYYYMXDE)And Lots of HUGS!

P.S. If you are looking for a real good Firewall and Antivirus program for free, get COMODO Firewall Pro and AVG8 - they work super together and the firewall actually 'learns' with you. It took me a while to find them, and they let me keep my smileys and found stuff that other programs were not aware of - computer safety is super important!

Stringer darling, how did you know I just loved this woman all my life?
When I was a little girl I always wanted to be just like her, she was so funny. I was glued to the tube when her show was on.

Just another indication that we are indeed soul-mates.

Sent off an Important Email today - and I need you people to let me know if I forgot anyone.. don't want anyone to be left out.

Love you!

Bro didn't show yesterday again as usual! Grrrrrrr! Now APPARENTLY he is coming this morning. We'll see!

I'm still sitting LMAO at something that happened in the castle! If you want a good giggle... go and take a look at my last post! :D

Hope your day is going well so far!

Ok dear, I'm on my way to the Castle now. It might take me a bit to get there but I'm feeling better now and got good news from the Radiologist. He said that the Avastin Infusion therapy is working as they were hoping. My monster has not grown, although still in both lungs now.. so I decided to let the next regimen of 3 treatments begin on the 30th - despite the side-effects. I want to be with you and my family for as long as possible - there is just still so much I want to do. This is good news for me, although I still have to take my oxygen with me everywhere I go and cannot go anywhere without a companion - but it gives me a little more time. I just bet it's because of all the prayers and support from you, my AMHD family and I love and cherish you all! I have the CDs with the Cat Scan pictures on them and am going to show my uncle because I know he was as worried as I and he's the 'show me' type.

Tomorrow, I get to go with Alexander to look for a Halloween costume and I'm as excited as a kid about it. He called me this evening and just rattled on and on... at first he was slow in starting to talk and now there is no stopping him - I think that is just divine!

I also sent out the Jigs@w Puzzle V.1.26 out today to a lot of people, and hope I got all - but if I did not, please PM me your emails and I will get right to it. I don't want to forget anyone.
I'm also working on a new coloring book (well pictures of the care bears) and a program that lets you import *.wmf files for kids to color on the computer.. - so that will be next, for me to send to you who have children so that they have something to do on those cold and rainy days.

I'm glad that I finally feel well enough to get some projects done. My flu left last night and I will wear my masks when among the 'public' so that I don't catch anything again so soon. I hope it won't scare Alex, but maybe if I let him wear one, he might think it's for fun...

Oh, yeah, I was on the way to the castle... my mind is going a thousand miles minute right now. Boy, Starby, if your bro were here right now, he'd get a kick he'd never forget!

Hi all, I'm back from my unfortunately short visit with Alexander. No cold, no flu and in a good mood, we started to a store to find a costume for him. The only one in his size was a little devil - and he won't keep the head-dress with horns on long enough for me to take a good picture. He just does not like to have anything on his head - just like his grandma - we suffer in the winter, but still can't have anything on our noggins for long.
Well, the reason the visit was short was because my body complained too much and I did not want to be in a bad mood while around my loved ones, so the visit lasted less than 4 hours - maybe I'll be lucky next time and my pain will leave me alone without having to take too many drugs - I don't like taking these meds when with Alexander because I want to be aware of everything around me instead of being a 'dizzy grandma' - but maybe I don't have that choice any more and will have to get used to it.

Then, we went to Burger King to take some stuff home to eat. I had the craving for meat for so long that this tasted like a feast. My stomach took half of it in and said 'enough', so I eat the other half tonight.

I got to use Jaime's computer to collect all the pictures I lost on mine, and also get the new ones (a few) from the visit to Missouri and the 'wedding'. I told you it was quick, and the pictures show it too. But they do show happy people on a nice terrace - and Alexander's other grandparents. The reception/celebration is going to take place here next month and I will also have new pictures after that.

I checked my email and noticed that the puzzle gift file I sent did not work for one of you, so I used my original CD (which I took with me just in case) and resent the installation file I also installed it for Jaime and Alexander and it worked fine. Alex found a cat right away and giggled while we put the picture together. Hope some of you got it by now. Let me know if it worked and also if you need 'visual assistance' in learning what this program can do. It really is worth trying out.

After getting home in the afternoon, I took my meds and cried myself to sleep, slept for 5 hours until my legs woke me up again. I'm ready to have that darned spine of mine ripped out - so where is Freddie Kruger when you need him.

Thank you all so much for being here for me when I need someone to talk to - I just wish that I had more livelier things to convey and not be such a cry-baby lately.

Well, going to play with something else now to get my mind off the 'pitty-pot' and check back with you all later. Thanks again for being here for me.

Well, dear, that's life and I just have to suck it up.

I just loved that page you sent about what children learn... children are the greatest gifts ever.

Since email might be slow, I uploaded the file to yousendit.com and will include the link here. It's good for 7 day and/or 100 downloads, so any of you can link to it and download. Chicky, please try this and let me know if it worked as gmail does not accept executable files at all.

https://rcpt.yousendit.com/616578849/4b00a268da85b155b47f00fd24c03775

It only takes about 20 seconds to download. Please let me know if this worked. Please email me for visual instructions or further help. I'm sure the newer version on the software site is just as good, but has too many bells and whistles for me.

I'm anxiously waiting and hoping that something will work right today!

Yes dear. Since the 'gift picture' did not work, I uploaded the trial version and just need all of you to email me for further details once you have it installed. I PMd you just now to let you know that you already have the email, but if you lost it, I'll resend.

It is cool, has 'shadow' for underneath so you can see where to place the pieces, lets you create puzzles from 25 up to 3000 - and you don't have to clear the table to continue. Also, you can use (import) any picture you want to and play with it. Then, when done, there's a gallery where you can place it. Enough bragging, just try it out and see for yourself.

Did you hear about starby's dog nicki... she's really sick right now and poor starby is freaking out. So, please join me in sending her all very strong vibes and wishes for a swift recovery. I will be sitting on pins and needles until I hear from her..

Going to email you right now, my dear..

I guess I didn't mention on here what is wrong with Niki Momma C. She has a lung infection. I'm suppose to keep a close eye on her, and bring her in right away if she changes any or starts to get worse, but bring her in again in 5 days regardless. She's on antibiotics and muscle relaxants. It's hard for me to sleep, because I'm always waking up to make sure she is all right. Poor baby.

I finally did get her to eat a bit of something lastnite, and I gave her some water through a syringe. She finally went outside late lastnite, and at one point she started barking at something, (even though late night barking makes me a little nervous) so that made me happy, because all day she couldn't even stand up without coughing like crazy and throwing up. She's still like that, but I hope the antibiotics will do their job. It sure worries me though.

Chery
Oct 20, 2008, 06:36 AM
Starby, thanks for clearing this up for me, getting old...
You know that I think of you and Nicki constantly - even my horoscope said that my mind was mainly on animals today.. strange but true. If she can already stand on her feet a little and bark, my feeling is that she is recovering. It might take time for the antibiotics to really do their work, but they are doing something.. and I'm sure she will do fine. Her temperature should also go down within the next few days.

Got to go and do some work, but please keep us informed.

Uhhh... my mom just returned the connection I had at home and... the downloaded file you uploaded Momma C was on it. I didn't have the time to save it on a pen drive. And I don't have any connection at home to download it... sorry. Until my mum gets another internet connection, I don't think I'll be able to download it.

Ok, later I'll tell you when things get better.

You are perhaps wondering why she returned the connection? That's because the service that the company was giving was poor, and they charged us double fees!

Starby, how's Niki now? We all here are supporting you, OK? Don't worry too much, I'm sure Niki will heal.:)

I'm sorry you lost your internet connection for the time being Unky. Some of those internet companies are famous for charging more than you signed up for. That's too bad. Maybe your Mum will find a decent company.

I was so happy lastnite. Niki wanted to stay outside for a little longer, and when I let her in she was jumping all around like she normally does. She even chased her ball once without coughing and weezing. Unfortunately, it was time for her meds, and they make her really groggy and sleepy, so she looked at me with sad eyes, because I think she knows that when she takes them, playtime is over. Oh well, she needs to get better. I think she understands that mommie is just trying to help her.

I bet you had a hand in her starting to get better Momma C! Keep those good vibes coming! :D

Come this afternoon, I won't be online until at least Friday. :( My Mother is taking my computer back to the lake with her, for my Dad to have a look at it. My Mom's a big snoop, so I'm a little worried about her getting into my things on here, because it's none of her concern. But I guess if I want this thing fixed, since I can't afford right now to have someone come in, that is my only option. Oops, hope she doesn't get in here and read that. LOL! ;) It's going to seem strange, not to get up and check my mail for a few days, but I guess I'll survive... maybe... LOL!

So, I'll catch up with everyone when I get puter back. Later Gators!

STRINGER... this one is for MARTA, so let her enjoy, then start learning the words...

Marta dear, this is what I call CFM music. Let Stringer explain what that means.

Enjoy it, both of you.

MARTA dear, here's another one that Stringer should be singing to you often.

YouTube - Soul Provider - Michael Bolton (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VO2NB6T5CKI)

If he does not sing, he can let Michael do it for him.

C.U. Later folks.

Actually Chery, ha ha, I have been singing all my life. First time was up front by myself in church.

I have been in about six or seven bands, cut two records (but nothing really happened with them and they were a long time ago) and did a lot of gigs all around. Along with some minor theatrical work. This helped pay my way through college.

And a secret that I have kept from most here, I did some modeling off and on over the years when I was younger...

Not the sort of life I envisioned for myself in the long run though.

WOW Stringer, another thing we have in common - I sang with a band for two years after winning a contest. My mom didn't like it, but it was a lot of fun - that's how I met Ozzy in person.

I'm so happy for Marta - she has someone who is not boring at all, lucky girl!

Night,night..

No... I am indeed the one who is very lucky Chery. She wants me to go with her for a walk now so I think I will take a break and go.

You may or may not remember some of the people that I knew and palled around with; Lou Christe, Tommy James and the Shondells, Bobby Vinton (The Polish Prince) and some others...

And, you are so correct about the "friends forever" part... yep

Well I thought I would be gone... but still here! This happens every time. My Mom decided to go do different things, and now I guess everything is rescheduled to do for Thurs.

I don't know if she is still going to take puter back with her today or not. Jeeepers!. I've been waiting all day, and it isn't very easy for me, especially with the lack of sleep lately, and my back and hip, and without pain killers to do this to begin with... which I'm soooo looking forward to! HA! ;)

Now I have to do it all over again on Thurs! Plus somehow fit in a haircut and color, and go and find an outfit to wear for family pics!

I guess we all have more in common than we thought. I used to model too. I was more of a fashion model. I remember one time, I was in a show where the models all had to have a certain "glam" look of the 50's and 60's. Marilyn Munroe etc. This guy cut my hair, and said it would be 'fabulous" lol! It was awful!! I was apparently the Jean Harlow girl. But what I really didn't understand, was we wore these outfits that litterally looked like gunny sacks!...green gunny sacks. They were hideous! I was so upset with my hair, and...well the whole show...I left after the first day. They had the nerve to try and bill me for the haircut, because I had signed a contract. I don't think so!!!......wasn't payin for that!

I also sang a few times in my brothers band. I really don't think I have a good enough voice, and was always nervous and afraid what the people would think. It has to be a certain song, in the right key, in order for me to be able to sing it where I'm happy with it. Either that...or several shots... preferably tequila...LOL!! So, I guess the 3 of us would have had a blast with our "talents"! ;) LOL!

Stringy... Who the heck doesn't remember Tommy James and the Shondells. Even the teenagers! They might not know their name, but I'm sure they've heard a song or two... probably re-done versions though I suppose.

Yeah, those guys were cooool. I sat in on two practices with Tommy (Tom) and became pretty good friends. He is still traveling 6 months / year doing the shows though.

Didn't care too much for Lou Christi, real self centered and always throwing slams at other people, he kind of felt like he was the center of everything... got pretty boring...

Hey kids, how's tricks?

I hope everyone is doing well, there are too many pages for me to read back so I'm not going to do it. ;)

Momma C, Stringer is still picking on me, he stole my favy whippy and won't give it back. He also smacked my wee butt with it and said Giddyup, why?

Can you tell him stealing isn't nice, and my bum hurts. :(

Mean boys, why do they always pick on us giwls? :(

I am fairly new to this forum, and I had no idea, Chery. Just so you know, you were a great help in the questions I asked. Your replies were always 300 words long, lol. You really gave me a lot of useful advice, and thank you for that. The graphics at the end of your posts were also always so comforting! I love those... You stayed with me all the through my situation, even when I was stubborn sometimes... Thanks for helping me through that :)

I am really sorry to hear of this. And you will definitely be in my prayers tonight. :)

Thanks for all the help, Chery! And stay strong! Even in the few months I've been here, I have seen you change dozens of lives with your advice. It is a real great achievement, and I can only hope to help as many people as you have, Chery!

Again, sorry to interrupt your converstation here, but I just had to say my piece. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Thank you for thanking me JR. :)

We all love Chery so much, she's such a special person, always kind, tough, caring, sensitive, she is whatever she needs to be to get through. We all love her so much, for so many reasons. To me she's a surrogate Mom, I wish just once I could give her a big hug. If I win the lottery that wish will come true. :)

From what I've seen of your other posts you are a kind caring person as well, you have a good head on your shoulders and you always give good advice, you are a valued member on AMHD. :)

I think most members here would like to do that... She really does help out so many people. She never gives up on anyone, and has an incredible amount of patience. I don't know how she does it!

I still look up to you, Chery, Starby, and others though! You are incredible here. Sometimes, I see a question that I can't even begin to think of a solution for, and say to myself, "Whoa! No interruption at all. This is where my AMHD family can talk to me any time and I am honored you joined in. Also glad to know that I helped you on your way to healing, dear. That's what I like to do is to help others as best as I can.

It seems that all of your prayers are helping me a lot because my monster has taken a break and stopped spreading so fast. My doctor said it puts me in the upper 10% with this medication - so I know all of you have contributed the greater part. I've never felt so welcome and loved before in my life. My little family and my AMHD family mean the world to me.

If you are so inclined dear jr.. Find my address way back and send me a post card from Toronto. I collect them for my grandson so that he can have the biggest collection in history to remember his grandma by.
