For Chery aka Momma C,
Starbuck8 aka Starby and I have been talking about doing this for a while, so here it goes. Chery, we hope you don't mind.
As many of you may know, Chery has terminal cancer, and she’s recently taken a turn for the worse.
Chery has been a member of AMHD for many years; she is a wonderful person, a great listener, and a great problem solver.
Chery is always there when she’s needed, call on her and she comes running, ready to give a hug, a kind word, whatever is needed. Now she needs us, she needs our support during this difficult trial.
What can I say about Momma C, there’s so much to say. She is everything rolled in to one, and I, for one, consider myself blessed because she is my friend.
Tears are running down my cheeks as I’m writing this, I don’t know what to say, how to describe someone who is indescribable?
I know that all of you want to give her the support that she’s always given to us on AMHD. It’s our turn to give a shoulder, to lend an ear, to be there for our wonderful Momma C.
Hopefully you are all allot more eloquent than I am. ;)
Chery, all I can say is this, I love you dear, you have made such a big difference in my life. I’ve never seen you face to face, never held your hand, never gave you a real bear hug, but that doesn’t matter. I see your heart every time you write something on this site. I see your soul when you talk to us. You are an angel on earth, a bona fide angel, and you are loved.

What a lovely idea from two sweet friends for a special friend, Chery!
Chery, you have won the heart of so many on this site. You are the persona of love and acceptance. When I was a new kid on the block, you were warm and welcoming, making me feel a part of something so much larger than any of us! I thank you for that.
Your sense of humor hits me right between the eyes, just when I need a huge laugh! We know bad things happen to good people and if it were within our power to change this situation for you, we would all do it in a moment! We love you! I love you. You have taken me under your wing in PM's as well as posting together on same threads. You have a great way of looking at life and death and have been an inspiration to my heart. The love you have for your family, your little grandson, is so phenomenal and touches all of us. What a great legacy, this love of yours!
Chery, the fight you have in you, I hope I can one day possess. You inspire me to be stronger in my daily life with the issues I face. You speak with clarity of thought and purpose.
Thank you Chery for all you are to me and to this site! I love you! Anything I can do, I am here for you, day or night. Sometimes the nights get long. Just let me know and I will be here for you!
The love you provide Chery, meets more needs than you can even imagine.
Now Chery, just because we are sharing how much you mean to us, doesn't mean you can stop giving us all this good advice we need!! LOL We are not giving up our hopes and desires for a miracle in your life. Feel better soon and when we get out of line, give us "what for", will you??
Love you much! Jan (sometimes known as Princess Rebby!) :)
I sure would love to fly over there to Germany and take you for a ride on my Rebel. What a great time that would be. We will just have to take a "virtual" trip together on the bike, soon!

You've got all of the prayers and hugs in the world from me my sweets, and I am going shopping on Thursday, and buying myself some green apple candles! :D I'll think of you and know you will feel better soon, every time I light them! Lord knows my house needs a better smell than skunk! ;)
We started this just so you know how much we care, appreciate, and love you bunches Momma C. Feel better soon, and I'm so glad you had a nice weekend! :)
We aren't going to let you leave us here my dear! Who will kick butt, and who will give us a wake up call when we need one?! No one but you can do that, and we listen because well frankly... we are scared what will happen if we don't... LOL! ;) ;)
You can call me anytime day or night also. I'm awake, I'm always awake! LOL!

Rebbie, it was our pleasure. We've been wanting to do this for a long time, ad it's about time that we did.
Chery is such a wonderful person, I have adopted her as my mother, and she took me in with open arms, no hesitation whatsoever.
Chery dear, there is no one else like you, and I have been so blessed to know you. What would have happened had I not stumbled on to this site. Thank goodness for AMHD, and for my virtual family, my extended family, heck, my family. :)
Love you all so much.

Alty and Star - What beautiful hearts you both have.
Chery - We rejoice in knowing you, we rejoice in loving you and we rejoice for being so blessed to have touched our lives.
I believe with all my heart, there are beautiful angels who do walk this earth, who's calling is to love, heal and give. Chery, our angel on earth, my goodness how you have answered your calling in ways none of us could ever duplicate, but we cherish you, your love, your gifts that you give so freely...
And mostly, We love you and are right there by your side.
Thank you Chery for allowing us and sharing your beautiful innerspirit, love and wisdom with all of us.
Love,
Allheart

Momma C:
I've been on this site for only a few months, but even in that short time, you've shown me what a wonderful person you are. Your caring ways have shown us what one should strive to become.
My thoughts and prayers are with you, and remember, I'll be sure to have the green apple candle always burning.

My dear sweet friends. I thank you with all my heart for the friendship and love you have shown me in so many ways these past years and months - and this one is so endearing to me and always will be special. Of course you know that I am crying tears of such emotional endearment right now - and no my dear Alty, I'm not mad (how could I be with such a wonderful 'daughter' as you!).
The care and support I feel coming from you all just overwhelms me so and no matter how I feel, or how much pain I am in, I will certainly not give you or those who need me up. Even though my visits here have been a little sporadic lately, I intend to stay with you until I can no longer type - and you know me, I'm tough, so I will be here for as long as I can.
I have already talked to my daughter and asked her to inform you when the time comes where I can no longer join you on AMHD and I sincerely hope that this is still far away in the future. I am currently going through a new therapy regimen and hope it will improve my stamina so that I can sit up longer and be more active here - we'll have to wait and see. It's a new non-radioactive infusion therapy and I hope I am in the upper percentage of those it works positive on.
My grandson has started to look forward to seeing me and the looks and smiles I get from him now - and even a hug now and then, just make me more determined not to give up yet. So, keep them green apple candles lit because they seem to be working.
I'm attaching two pictures from this past weekend and hope that they bring a smile to your hearts as they certainly did mine.. Got to work on getting the red-eye out of the pictures and am making a DVD with slideshows of 2007 and 2008 so that Alex can watch then on TV later.
The love and warmth I share with you all is beyond description and I appreciate it ever so much.
In love, Your Momma C.

I sure hope that new therapy works well for you. We know you are strong, and you can kick some royal butt against those nasty little scouts! Cheers to you Momma C! :D
Love and Hugs from the little girl that first asked if you could adopt me, and if I could call you Momma C! You've got sooooo many children now to take care of now! What have you been doing with your nights? ;) LOL!
I loved seeing your pics when you sent them to me, and I meant to comment on how sweet little baby A is. Those eyes are some real lady killers!

I guess I am not as tough as I thought I was Chery, I am sitting here typing with tears running from my eyes... "Indescribable" does not begin to to speak to how I feel about you my dear. You and I go back over a year and a half, and every time we "spoke" your first concern was about me... me, can you imagine?. Wow (sorry... I had to stop... couldn't see my keyboard)... damn...
I have posted many times about how much I miss my mother and what a great adviser, friend and consultant she was to me. When she passed, you were one of the first to help... there was so much pain. Your sincere caring and help was so needed, but... you were there, not just once... you were there for me always.
If anyone would have told me that someone living half way around the world, that I have never seen in person could mean sooo much to me, I would never have believe them, never. But you do Chery, you do.
All the posts on this thread sum up how I feel about you, you are SPECIAL, very special. If anyone ever came close to being for me what I lost over a year ago, it is you.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank you. You gave me the strength when I needed it.
There are so many forms of love Chery, My love for you is admiration, respect, caring.. I feel like you are one of my family.
Well, I know that mom is looking down on you and smiling... and that you helped her boy when he needed it and nodding her head in agreement...
Much love to one of the best people I have been blessed to call my friend.

Oh, Chery, I feel very sad for you... I don't know what to say... I met you so recently and you're perhaps going soon... but this short elapsed time was wonderful with your presence, and that of the others. I was perhaps the first time that I could talk to people so openly. I know that you're a fighter and will always be for me, as you proved on one of the other boards. And you have a wonderful grandson there! Keep strong and don't be too sad. I'll pray for you as I did before and perhaps I'll even try the green apple candles for you. I love you much, you were like a mommy for me. Peace be with you, always.
Big big hugs,
Jeremy.

Chery I can only echo what everyone else has said on here , I have been on this site now for a year and have found so many good people who I have never met and yet I still classify as my friends.
You are one very special person , one who gives people hope and I can't imagine how many hearts you have helped to heal with all your great and caring advise. I wish you all the best with everything you do :)

One favor you can do for me is send me a nice postcard from Mauritius please. My address is: C.M. Inglehart, Am Stuhl 4, 66849 Landstuhl, Germany. I've always wanted to visit there.
Oh and by the way, any and all postcards are welcome, so all my children - I urge you to send some from where you all live too. P.S. Pass it on.
When I no longer need them, Alexander will have on heck of a collection - I hope.
Night, night for now, going to try and sleep for at least an hour.

I have to admit up front and admit that I have not read any of this post other than the first page. And I am so sorry I have missed this thread until now.
Cher... You have been such a strong and courageous woman for the two years that I have known you. You have perservered an enormous amount of weight on your shoulders, yet you stayed strong and hopeful.
I remember the day that Alexander (Peanut) was born. You e-mailed me with such pride. I remember when your daughter e-mailed me with the news of your stroke. That was around Thanksgiving, and look how far you have come. You came home when we didn't even know if you would survive.
You are my angel in spirit, you are my light in the tunnel, you are the definition of strength.
I stand behind CBW in saying that we love you. No matter what happens, when or where, please know that we love you.
PS: Please haunt me. :p

The pic of your grandson touching your face is one of those candid moments that I personally cherish the most.
I'm so happy you have that moment captured forever along with the many others that you are putting together for your grandson.

Oh, you wonderful people! This is better than Christmas! - Thank you°I love hearing from you any time and can't wait to receive the first postcard.. will let you know who's came first.
Since I cannot leave the house without a 'companion' (dumb body restricting me) but my mind is still fully functioning so you know that you all are my life-line and I appreciate each post you share with me. Every time I come to this thread, I don't know what comes next, but it always winds up me clearing my eyes and radiates warmth in my heart. J_9 and CBW - thanks ever so much for visiting as I know you two are busy and you do make me feel as if I am a special friend so far away - you have no idea how much this means to me.
Stinger, I have never been to the Windy City - but have seen it on TV and cannot wait until I get pictures personalized by you and the family.
I spent the weekend with Alex and his mom. We did have a few plans, but they got side-tracked by Alex's stomach flu - poor baby - I convinced his mom to let him drink flat coca-cola so at least the eruptions stopped after a while, but he just didn't know which way to sit or lay down.. he just didn't want to move and his fever did spike. We got that down and he slept a lot so he's better now. So, now I am on a 'forced diet' of clear liquids. What a way to loose a few pounds... but that too will pass (ha ha) and there will be better days to look forward to.
And, I am absolutely serious about the postcards, AK.. the more the merrier.. they will make me feel a lot closer to those of you who encouraged me and lifted me when I was down.
I have exactly three 'physically close friends' besides my family here.. but I have many more friends in you - so, I'm one lucky woman! Starby and Friend... don't stop the music either. When my eyes dry, I feel so much better and always send you super virtual hugs. As for 'spooking'.. there will be enough of me to go around to give some of that warmth right back at you, when the time comes.
C.U. later folks, going to watch 'My Family' on BBC and then Eli Stone... That's Entertainment!

I too was worried about the tears, but you know what?. I let the tap run now because it brings release and reduces the stress-level and makes me feel so darned warm when I hear from you, my friends, so I am letting my emotions do what they want because both laughter and tears are essential emotional healers - and it can't get any better than this. Thank you all for making it possible.

And I am ready and willing and anxious to receive, my dear. Can't wait to see more than just bills and crap in my mailbox! I plan on making a special sheet on my japanese wall-divider for the cards and will take pictures when it is full - and naturally I will let you know when they get here!
You are all so sweet!
My dumb back and legs restrict me more right now, and I twisted my foot twice on Friday, (my legs didn't wake up the same time I did - nothing broken though)... but I will sit up long enough to join you here on this site at least once a day...
Until next time, lots of love and hugs!!

I feel the same way Chery, my tears are tears of happiness because I have you in my life.
Some people take a lifetime to make an impact on someone, and some people are so special, they glow, and only need a moment to impact you for the rest of your life. You my dear glow. :)
You are my light, that's the honest truth. One word from you puts a smile on my face, even when there are tears running down my cheeks. You make me realize how lucky I am to be who I am, to have what I have. You are my inspiration, my adopted mother, and so much more that words cannot express.
You Chery are an Angel here on earth, a certified Angel. We are all so lucky to have you in our lives.
Okay, the computer keyboard is getting wet, got to grab a tissue.

As per your request my sweet Momma C. that so willingly adopted me, and all of the others... from one Aerosmith fan to another! Alty and I had a conversation about Aerosmith the other night because I mistakenly left them off my top bands or singers I really want to see live in concert! You're a girl after my own heart with your choice of musicians, so you can expect some of those songs, by the other artists too! :D
I will continue to post a song for you everday or two, by your faves, and other related ones.
Stay off that foot, rest, and know I'm always thinking of you!
Love you much, and another GREAT BIG HUG my sweets!

A postcard from Graceland would be wonderful dear Janine.
Believe it or not, this song is one I dedicated to my daughter and grandson and it still brings tears to my eyes every time!
The world would be nothing at all without music to help us express how we feel and I appreciate every musician that has the talent to bring so much pleasure to us. Be it art, music, poetry or paintings, I just love those that share their talents with the rest of us.
Even as a kid, Renior and Monet were more my taste than Picaso ever was and I still have not changed my mind in that topic.

I still make Jigs@w Puzzle pictures from downloaded art, so if any of you would like me to make one of you and the family or pet, or favorite vacation site, send the picture and I will create the puzzle - just PM me and send me your email address. No problem at all love. With the first picture (only 25 pieces) it's easy to assemble, but I can make puzzles with up to 3000 pieces - and that's when I cheat. I put a border on the pictures so that I can find the frame pieces easier. It's a super application for kids of all ages.
Going to rest my back for a while and wait till I get your pictures to play with later on.
I will also let you know when those postcards start arriving.

And the Assumption song... wow, imagination can go a long way, nice.
Stringer dear... I GOT IT TODAY! The song reminds me of a movie that I can't remember right now, but will eventually get to it - it's an old-people thing, probably at 4 in the morning, the name will pop up. Thanks so much to you both, dear. My companion was here when I got my mail, and she was really getting wet eyes when I told her the story behind me getting mail from my AMHD Family - she's happy that I have such wonderful people in my life - not all of us are that lucky.
I think I started something because I told my cancer group about it and suggested that they should get on the net and ask their friends to do the same.
Thanks again darling, it was beautiful!
I will keep you all posted as soon as I receive your postcards. Am working on the puzzle pictures right now too.

NO Postcards yet, but the day is still young.
I will let you know when the first one arrives and who it's from.
Had to answer a bit of email today, and will work on some puzzle pictures later on today so that I will be able to start sending the 'gift packets' by next week.
Got to go for some blood tests today and get slowly ready for the weekend with my family. I have deer meat that my brother shot last year and plan on cooking up something special for Alexander to try. I just hope I don't run out of energy in the middle of cooking. After I'm done with the meat, it tastes more like veal instead of wild stuff (and I don't use buttermilk or wine), so can't wait to have a meal that I enjoyed surprising people with. I miss that a lot... too much fast cooking or microwave lately and I need a change.
And, yes, I promise I will rest my foot - have a chair for ironing and it works good in the kitchen too.
Be back after a nap, Larry is already waiting on my pillow.

Wow, I just go to visit my grandson over the weekend, and look at all the sweet posts I missed! You guys and gals are really something.
Here's an update on the Postcards..
Got another one from Stringer and one from Albear Saturday morning before I left, but did not have internet connection since then. Thanks again, I really love this gesture a whole bunch! I showed them to Jaime and she's just as tickled as I am to see all the places on the cards that are yet to come. She and Alex really liked the song, Stringer, and I am holding on to all the cards and passing them on to Jaime until Alex is old enough to understand that they are not to be torn up... just to look at.
The deer meat was so tender and delicious.. we ate it with dumplings and red-cabbage. Naturally I made 'real' gravy with it. I really enjoyed making a home-cooked meal from scratch for a change. I thought I lost my touch, but glad I didn't.
So, now that I made it back home after spending a nice weekend - too long on my feet though, so I have to lay down, take meds and sleep. Then, I'll come back and tell you about the new words Alexander learned... one in 'school' in german that his mom is not too happy about, but I don't think he really knows what it means. His middle-ear infection is getting better since he's on antibiotics, poor baby wanted to go play in the rain, but still had fever, so I did my best to keep him busy in the house - wore me out, but wonderful!
TTFN,
LOVE AND HUGS,
Chery
Alty, what is Kanga Mail? It sounds exotic..
Friend... you can be rugged and tough - and still sweet - take it from Momma C.
Tal,. You all light up my life too and I got the message, dear. Thanks.
Starby, going to listen to the song in the morning when I'm not so crispy so that I can really enjoy it. I just answered a bit of email, so let me know if you got my LONGGGGGG reply to your LONGGGGG reply... C.U. tomorrow.

Well Mr's Cherry hello from me too... I didn't have the chance to know you personally but from your answers and solutions to many problems at AMHD I realized that you must be a wonderful person...
You know my mom had breast cancer and left me at the age of 2... She went too late at the doctor because she could not believe that after giving birth to me (without being married to my father who was already married) she would leave me alone..
I don't know what an 18 years old boy like me could tell you that would be helpful for you. I just wish you will be as strong as you can and live as less pain as possible.
Starbuck8 told me about you... You know you have great friends here, who love you, and will be here for you as long as you need them.. really sad I did not have a chance to know you better and be a friend of you..
I really wish you all the best I can, Be strong... and if there is anything I could do.. don't hesitate to ask...

Thank you so much for your post, fwnaklas.
For whatever reason you signed onto AMHD, I welcome you to one of the best sites on the internet! This place is like a home away from home, and you've just joined one big family - as I have learned in the years on here. You joined us in July with a Relationship issue and I noticed that you were doing well with the responses you received from other 'family' members - and hope that you don't think I ignored it. It's just that when I see things moving on, there is sometimes no reason for me to interrupt the dialogue already started. And I watched your progress. Now you know that love (as you perceived it then) can hurt too, but we all get over it - and it's OK to hurt, and also remember our past loves. You realized that sometimes, the first real love will NOT be the last real love. You've grown since then, and I hope you stay with us and help others who are in the same 'boat' as you were. As Altenweg said, just keep looking and going forward and don't dwell on the past. Heck, I still remember my first love - and many others after that. That's what makes us emotional human beings and not robots - and we learn a little from each experience - that's what makes us who we are when we 'grow up'.
Starby calls you her Virtual Bro, so that is what I too will call you from now on, if that's OK. You can call me Oma C, which is 'grandma' in german, if you wish. And, dear, there is one thing you can do for me - send me a postcard. You have no idea how much it means to me to check my mailbox and find these wonderful gestures from you all.
Sorry you did not get a chance to know your mom, but I hope you had a chance to enrich the life of a grandmother or aunt, or even adopted mother. I'm sure you filled someone's life with your smiles and hope you got all the warmth and love you deserve while growing up.
Stay with us little 'Bro'. You'll see that it's great to get help growing up in this big 'family'.
Talk to you later.. Oh, and it's Chery - with 1 'r'... I had to be unique from the start and my Dad, who I didn't have for long, gave it to me. It's Cheryon actually, and I shortened it because not too many people pronounced it correctly. But it's the only thing I have left from a father who was not allowed to share my life because my mother threw him out.

After a weekend with my grandson and seeing the new things he has learned within just one week, wow, it brought back memories of my little girl (who is now a wonderful mother). She is so caring and patient that I am so darned proud of her it makes me cry. It frustrates me to know that my time with them is limited because I don't want to miss a thing... that's what makes me so darned mad at my body right now. But I am glad that I get the chance to experience as much as I have and want more...
Jaime is the most wonderful daughter a mom could ever ask for. Here she was, tired from being up all night with a sick son, shopping, working all week, her partner in school in the States, and she still was able to handle a cranky sick son and a fragile mother who needs help in walking and needs to drag an oxygen unit with her.
I am so super proud of my daughter and just had to let it out today... Hope you forgive me for being a little maudlin today.
Don't worry, Stringer darling, you know that I will let you all know when I receive mail from you, my wonderful internet family...
Just got this in the email from one of our 'family members' and want to share it with you if she hasn't already..
WHEN YOU THOUGHT I WASN'T LOOKING
(A message every adult should read because children
Are watching you and doing as you do, not as you say.)
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you hang my
First painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately
Wanted to paint another one.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you feed a
Stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind
To animals.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make my
Favorite cake for me, and I learned that the little
Things can be the special things in life.
When you thought I wasn't looking I heard you say a
Prayer, and I knew that there is a God I could always
Talk to, and I learned to trust in Him.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make a
Meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I
Learned that we all have to help take care of each
Other.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you give of
Your time and money to help people who had nothing,
And I learned that those who have something should
Give to those who don't.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you take care
Of our house and everyone in it, and I learned we have
To take care of what we are given.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw how you
Handled your responsibilities, even when you didn't
Feel good, and I learned that I would have to be
Responsible when I grow up.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw tears come
From your eyes, and I learned that sometimes things
Hurt, but it's all right to cry.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw that you
Cared, and I wanted to be everything that I could be.
When you thought I wasn't looking I learned most of
Life's lessons that I need to know to be a good and
Productive person when I grow up.
When you thought I wasn't looking I looked at you and
Wanted to say,'Thanks for all the things I saw when
You thought I wasn't looking.'

Chery, you are so special.
I thought you may like some more "thoughts;"
A smile is a whisper of a laugh.-A child's definition
Genius is eternal patience.-Michelangelo
Life's most urgent question is: what are you doing for others? -Martin Luther King, Jr.(1929-1968-)
The highest reward for a man's toil is not what he gets for it but what he becomes by it.-John Ruskin
The highest reward for a man's toil is not what he gets for it but what he becomes by it.-John Ruskin
Too much time searching for happiness leaves to little time to recognize it.
It Is Your Heart I See
It is the beauty of your heart I see.
And there is nothing to compare.
It is not what I see with my eyes that makes me care,
But with my soul that makes me feel.
It is the smile and the softness that radiates from you.
You cannot fool me for I know it is there.
I know you,
But I am not sure where you have been to make you this way.
You fill the world with your goodness and speak nothing of
this, but I know!
It is the soul that makes us who we are and surrounds us with
the beauty that we have.
It is deep and it makes the world see us for who we really are.
It is the tenderness that never fools a child.
And is the light inside that never ceases. :)

Stringer, that was heartwarming and naturally I passed it on to Jaime because she is all of that and more. So are you, dear. Thank you and tell Marta I said hello for me.
Bless you all for brightening up my day - it got my endorphines working!

I LOVE that song! Funny story... I went to a Dr. Hook concert one time, and the whole band were so toked up and drunk, that they played two songs and left the stage. The guy with the patch felt so totally embarrassed that he sat by himself with a guitar and played for 3 hrs... it was FANTASTIC!

I do it all of the time, and I can usually remember where I was the first time I heard it too! A lot of good memories... some bad... but what the heck hey?

Absolutely, without the rough times,we wouldn't be who we are now.
I remember when I was entranced by BB King's Bass player in the 70's and made my fiancé jealous at a Santana concert because I sat way up, behind the band and loved every move that drummer made.. Ha ha, I still have my memories! Yuppers!
Even had a joint (didn't inhale)... with Ossie Osbourn sitting on one of the biggest speakers I ever saw when Black Sabbath played in our town and I left the group I went there with. That's when I was with a band myself, that I told you about.

UPDATE..
Got two more cards from you, darling Stringer - Millennium Park and the Sky View. You have such beautiful handwriting - it's a joy to read.
I'm glad you liked that song, it was one of my favorites a long time ago, and it was a joy finding it again. That memory train really takes me for some fun rides lately. I'm just such an emotional old lady.
It's never too late to go back to college. Jaime is going to go back next year and she has not chosen her final 'subject' yet either. She's great in financial fields, but she is still concentrating on her man and her son right now. He said he will give her his military scholarship when she's ready as he can transfer it over to 'family members' after they are married. He's in San Francisco right now, and it's the first time where he has been away where he wishes he was not. Usually in the past, he was glad to be gone (from former wife), but now he can't wait to get back home. I guess that says a lot for my girl... I'm so super proud of her.
Alty, I got the Bear and the Karl's postcards from you today. I just bet that Canada's Rocky Mountains are just a sight for all eyes to wonder. Honey, paint is a lot better than glue, so sniff right along - let me know where I can see the finished products.
Thanks again to both of you.
Starby, I too heard 'sexy eyes' at the end the first time.. so it must be a You-Tube glitch and not our 'puters'.
Had a scare today. I uninstalled a trial version of Windows One Care (security prog) and installed three freebies to take it's place. Well one of them was sooo strong that it wouldn't let me into the internet.. until I figured that out, it took a while, but it's sure is working. Found some that even One Care did not find and did a boot record and memory check. Pretty good for a freebie. So, after taking all that time to 'clean' my baby, I'm running late on a few other things today. Will take a nap, eat something, and then see if I can be of any help in the Relationship section.
Talk to you later, folks.
Grrrr.. the new antivirus and antispam progs just junked my smilies... so I got to get them back.

Couldn't install my old smileys, so I guess 'WE' are going to try out some new ones. Too bad, because I really liked my 'grandma' smiley.
But life goes on and I will make due with what's available.. it might take me some time to find my favorites, so have patience with me.

I think that there may be one or two more coming Chery... time for the rest to go. I will send more in the next day or two...
Thanks for letting me know that you received them Chery.
Marta is loving it... she is really getting into it... some of the classes are requiring a lot of study time... but she's a smarteeeeee and she will do fine. She is always coming to me and telling me what they covered that day... I am proud of her too.

I think you know my story about my Dad and how he was/is my hero. From my personal experience with cancer, I have a "history" with the thing.
Every time you post, you touch my heart. Every time you give a little smiley, you make me smile. Every quote, every encouragement, every sarcastic comment, you inspire me. Chery, you, my dear, are priceless; a work of rare beauty.
I've often found myself fascinated by mosaic portraits and have come to the conclusion that it is because life is a mosaic. We are mosaic. Some of the most beautiful works of art are simply broken pieces of glass, pottery, wood, metal... in keeping with this, some of the most memorable people are those that are broken, put back together, simply holding on to life by the threads, and yet still walking, still singing, and still thriving.
You, Chery, don't simply survive... you thrive. You make every day, every post, every moment a chance to better your world and the world of those around you.
You are an inspiration to goodness, my favorite mosaic.
Much, much Chicky love from me just for you. :)

Dearest Historian Chick.
Thank you so much for your wonderful words. I just love mosaics and used to do window-colors in tiffany style and give them to all my neighbors and family on holidays.
They still have them in their windows and I enjoy walking by and seeing that my time and effort was appreciated. Throughout all my time in elementary school when I was not allowed to partake in sports due to my fibromyalgia, I spent my time with my arts teacher who was such a wonderful person with a great imagination. She taught me how to do pictures in charcoal, pencil, and then oils, and mirages of all sorts, and I have loved all art since then. I even charcoaled a portrait of her and her new husband for her as a wedding gift. (She even invited me of all her students to her wedding). I guess she knew all along that I was abused at home and needed a role-model - and she was one of the best I remember. So, every time I was distressed, I escaped to art of any kind to confirm that there is beauty in life, no matter how hard it gets or how painful my hands felt afterwards - it was worth it. Now I do art on my computer by creating coloring books in PDF format and send them out. Unfortunately, all these are on my other computer and I have to burn them on CDs and ask my daughter to send copies when she has time because the books got too big to send via email. So she will have her work cut out for her as I will give her a lift of people to burn CD for - and naturally print them all out for Alexander to color. He'll never need a coloring book from any store and I hope he likes what his Oma left him as an inspiration.
Here I am, going on and on.. my medication is working on me and gets my mind remembering a lot of good times.
Yes, dear, I do thrive... but it's because of wonderful people like you and others on AMHD and the love of my little family. I am so grateful that I signed on to this site because it has helped me through many phases in these last years and I hope that I was able to help a few people too who took the time to read and get to know me.
And, I would just love to have a postcard from Tampa.. or anywhere for that matter, as long as it's from you, my friend.
Too bad I lost my original smileys program, but I'll try and make due with the one that is available now...
Thanks again, dear.. and talk to you later..

Chery... Jaguar was purchased by Ford. It took them 4 years trying to turn it into a Taurus. It worked and they destroyed the Jaguar. Then they sold it... nice huh? So if you got a new one... it wouldn't be the same... so you didn't miss anything...

You know what though Stringy? I kept it for a second car until just this past spring. It was a back-up car for me, just in case. My brothers stepkid inherited it from me free of charge, just to use for awhile, and he ended up totaling it. That car, (an '86 I believe) very rarely broke down on me. If I forgot to plug it in, in the winter, I never had a problem starting it. The only things that really broke down were the things like auto windows or wipers, that cost a couple bucks for a new fuse.
Now I have an expensive Ford Windstar, that always needs something! I've always gone with Ford, but this one hasn't given me much luck. I want my first car back! It was a '64 and a half, Mustang! First edition! 4 speed stick on the floor, 289 engine. Waaaaaaaaaaa! :( I want my Mustang back! Won lots of races with that car!

The Jag I had in the 80's was so nice, and I know I'll never have another one like it. While driving, you could hear yourself think because it was so nice and quiet.. and then there was the 'cruise control' button, when I pushed it, it felt like the baby was spreading out wings to start flying - and believe me, on the German Autobahns, one could fly.. at 130-160 Kilometers/hr and not worry about getting a ticket. Those were the days!
In my young and dumb days, I told myself that that was the way I wanted my life to end, fast and down a cliff in a Jag.. even joked about it a lot. It sure would have been better than slowly sitting on life's death-row like I am now.
But I wouldn't trade a moment now, because I would have missed my daughter growing up to be a beautiful woman and mother and my grandson and getting to know all of you wonderful people. And that's what is keeping me going... till the last minute. Your love and encouragement means a lot to me.

Know how you feel. Gosh I even freak when Alexander jumps on the couch now and he's just starting and it's not even a 'real' adrenalin fix yet.
I tried looking for the Jag that I had and couldn't find it. It had a gas tank on each side (in the back naturally), coupe style, and the cat on the front. The headlights were round and the color was metallic chocolate brown. I remember it had XJ6... something on it, but still cannot find it.
Start and Starby...
... as for hoping your kids won't do what you did.. they won't.. they'll do differently with different cars and bikes. We can only hope and bite our nails to the quick until they come home safely. Jaime had a fast Alfa Romeo when she met Dan, sold the car to him, and when she had Alex, she switched to a 'safer' car and does not drive as fast as she used to. She raced on the autobahns before and now is very careful (she's a mom). I used to run in rallies before I had her and then turned into a part-time 'safe' driver, but still loved those fancy wheels. So, just teach your kids to 'try' and be safe and that you 'trust' them... all the while having a nervous breakdown until they walk into the door and are safely home... we can do no more than that, hon.
I have always wanted a Mustang, there is one just like your's in yellow around the corner. There is just something about the Mustang that sticks with you.. My brother had a 1986 Ford Capri Mk III 1.6 Laser and that was as close as we got to power and style - nice.
I had a Corvette Stingray, bright metallic orange - fast, but too hard to handle and loud. The only Mercedes that ever impressed me was the one a friend of mine had - was an 'oldie' but beautiful... Mercedes-Benz 300SL 2 door convertible. I had fun helping him polish it - at 19 yrs of age, I guess I got easily impressed.
Ok, enough about cars already, it's late, and we've got things to do, or sleep to catch up on.
But I tell you, this was fun! Music, cars,. what's next? I'm open to all subjects we share with each other.

I remember we use to go four by'in all the time, there was one (or more) we almost lost lives. It sure was a blast, but I think back and do not want my kids to have any part in anything like that....oh please, do not let them do the things I have done...oh please....
If they grow up to be like you... they will be blessed.:)

Which one of these picks of mine do you think will win this? Here's three songs I think you'll like Momma C. These people have got incredible talent! I'm not sure of my fave, because they are all so good!
YouTube - AMERICAS GOT TALENT-QUEEN EMILY-Semi Final 2-AGT-2008 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZNpiL75Coo)

YouTube - Eli Mattson - If I ain't got you - Top 20 agt 2008 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2_vUJx8NZQ&feature=related)
There will only be 5 left in the competition tomorrow, and I really think those will be the top 3!

I have had many cars, many were fast and cool but the one that I miss the most (start, you know this already) was my Dodge Charger R/T 440 Magnum she was a dark forest green with two white bumble bee strips on the end. Exactly like the one in this picture except the color. Four on the floor, roared like a mean lion, 400 horse power... damn the gas pedal was nine inches off the floor board. NOTHING, nothing could touch her... loved that car. Bought it in 1970 and it had low mileage and was "cherry." I polished her so much you could see two feet into the finish...

Almost Chery... almost.
I only lost one race in that car... first time I raced. Off the line I floored it and sat there burning tire and fish tailing left to right... I couldn't get it off the line. Made the adjustments by getting off the line a lot slower and then hit it... never lost again... I literally LOVED that puppy... and she was always spotless... inside and out.
And those pipes... man.. she roared with a deep growl...
Man... what a feeling this has brought back... feels great...

UPDATE:
Dearest unknown... I finally received your card from Mauritius! Beautiful picture of the Paradise Hotel beach. Thanks... it made it, and yes, we will meet one day, I promise!
Friend4U, After going through the customs inspection, and probably dog sniffing, at the Frankfurt Airport, a cute little kitty arrived at my door today. Manx survived the trip in great condition and he made friends with my Larry right away. Larry checked him out and even let Manx rub him behind the ears, so I know they both will get along just fine. Manx brought two postcards with him too.
Thank you so much M. I promise I will care for him well and pass him on to loving hands of my grandson later. I will probably take a picture of him and post it here sometime next week.
Just got back from infusion therapy and this time my arms did not swell up. Pneumonia was confirmed again and getting antibiotics for it now. I hope that the side-effects will be less this time so that I can enjoy the coming weekend with my whole family - it will probably be the last time. Although my brother wants to come from Vegas on Christmas and has asked me to hold on until then... I will give it my best to do so, I promise. I just hate what my dumb body is doing to me, but will not give up so easily - never have. So, cross your fingers, light candles, and send me good vibes in your spare time - they mean so much to me.
Going to rest up for a while now and be back later.. Even a few hours on my feet seem like days on a long march.. going to try to do some inner eyelid exercises and hope it brings down some of the swelling and puts me to sleep.
C.U. later.

Sure is dear. I tried to find my Dad's side of the family but no luck. He was born there in 1927 (I think) and left there to join the Army, met my Mom in Germany in the 50's, and was also in Korea. After that I had no luck in finding him. I was told that I have a 1/2 sister who was born exactly one year before me on the same day, 22 January... He is the one who insisted that I have the first name that I have and loved me dearly until my mom threw him out of her life.. Maybe if I PM you his full name, your friends might have luck in finding my 'kin' there, if any exist. It would be nice to know.. Do you think Hazard has any postcards??

That was so cute, Stringer. At first I thought it was the island of Santorini, but you have to go up 600 steps to reach the town, with or without a mule. It does remind me of a wonderful vacation in Greece. And those two - well I call them 'lovebirds'..

I received your wonderful card and so blessed that you let me into your life! You all have enriched me - so it goes both ways. OK, turning off the faucet now.
The last infusion was OK for a few days, but now, I have burning of all my joints, fever, and a rash... so I will be off for a few days as my hands are swollen and hurt like heck. It too will pass (I hope) and I'll let you all know when the burning has stopped. Shucks, even my ears are swollen and on fire... go figure. No new blood when I cough, so I guess that's the GOOD part.. my get-up-and-go got-up-and-went and I hope it comes back soon.
