Alty, lottery or not, you are already with me - always in my heart! And, so are the rest of you. How's Chewey doing?
Last night, I got a call from Calgery (sp) and it was so wonderful to hear the voice of one of my 'inner circle' sisters. She's without a PC for a while and hope it won't be too long. But her Nicki is doing better which just made my day. I think we'd still be talking if I didn't have to get ready to see Alexander for a few minutes - he and his mom have colds, so I have to wear a mask - I think I'll do as she suggested and draw a picture on the mask so that he won't be scared of it. I plan on coloring one for him to let him take home and play with it.
She's going to be forced to be physically busy for the weekend, so please send her good vibes to prevent her back and hip from hurting her too much.
I've been busy the last few days and really missed you..
Another weekend... so you all know that I want you all to relax and have a wonderful time.

Hi Chery,
I sent this message via email to you and it came back that you are having "computer problems"...
"I am glad that it is still up and running Chery."
"I am having problems lately also; it is taking a lifetime to download pages now, and I am starting to see my pages 'freeze', I have to close so many pages just for it to work, I have to reboot 4 to 5 times a day, and I have used the “system restore” so much that it won't do it anymore….extremely FRUSTRATING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I may have to call a nerd in……"

What exactly have you done to fix the problem so far? AND good morning Stringer;)

Good morning sunshine...
I have been reading your posts on the "political" thread... way to go girl, straight from the heart. I was going to give you a greenie but it wouldn't let me.

Thanks... but I find myself a little too "ordinary" in there. The issues seem so simple to me, but then you add all the other nonsense bs and we get strong debates. Oh well, I am staying clear for now.;)
Have you done the disk clean up and defragmenter? Have you deleted old stuff and kept what you wanted? Have you gotten a good anti bug thing installed?
Stringer
Oct 25, 2008, 09:09 AM
I may have to take drastic measures I fear. I have to keep a lot of info for business and that may be the problem, however it says that my disk is 63% clear... and I am seeing some funny stuff happening; like the pages are moving around, etc. Plus what I said above, I may have an intruder.
For example, as I am typing this, the page moved three times and I had to move it back so I could type...
And it won't let me download windows upgrades or patches...
By the way, my security just emailed me that Microsoft has just released an "emergency patch" for a bug that is out there that can effect your computer without you doing anything. Go to Windows/Microsoft pages to find it... but it won't let me download it. It isn't them, it is my computer it takes so long that my computer times out...
EDIT: Yes, I always defrag and clean the disks, run CCleaner, NOD32 (anti virus) and Sammsoft to clean it up... along with the "go-back" Microsoft program... I hate this...
But... it is Saturday morning, although cloudy and rainy... but Saturday!!

I know it can be frustrating. I would suggest you take it up in the puter section here, lots a smarties here. Also, I want to advise you to have back up files... you need them if your puter is holding stuff you can't afford to lose;)
Ok that is all I got... heehee

Oct 25, 2008, 09:32 AM
Good suggestion Start, I have thought about an additional hard drive to back up and I haven't done it. I think that I will call my "puter guy" Monday morning and get it started and download everything to it... thanks for reminding me hon.
Have a beautiful, inspiring, delightful and loving Saturday sweet.
Marta and I are going to run some errands; prescription pick up, dry cleaning AND a political sign for to complete my Halloween yard display... ha ha.
A lot of my neighbors for the first time have put out their signs and now for the first time I am going to also... THEY started it!! ha ha...

I miss that a lot, I go when I can to my grandson's games. He is playing basketball and baseball only this year, he gave up football much to my dismay. He is 13 now.:)
If you remember, I coached Bryan's baseball and football for 14 years... loved the whole experience. I coached one year of Michelle's soccer also, she only played for one year though.

Wow, I'm sure glad that my computer has stabilized itself. Since it is a laptop, I unplugged it, turned it upside-down and spanked it. It works fine now..
It may be a coincidence, but my symptoms sound a bit like your's, Stringy - maybe it's a PC-flu or your PC is just having sympathy pains with mine. This just happened today though, after getting one of those famous Windows Updates that sneak in automatically - I put a stop to them and will call them up and install them when I'M ready to from now on. I can't believe that my Mozilla Firefox froze for no reason and then Yahoo acted dumb for a while. Maybe it's something in the net - lot's of crazies out there so I raised my firewall higher and told my antivirus program to do a check twice a day now. Not much more we can do - even if we call in those 'nerds' I don't think they can do more at this point.
You have pages move, and I have fonts that change.. something is really happening on the net - I bet it's a new hacker that is being very creative and until the IT security companies find and identify the issue, there will be a few more people who suffer... so do a FULL BACKUP of all you've got, no matter what happens. Starty.. I have a DVD in mine that backs up my graphics daily from now on, but a FULL BACKUP is the best idea - it's worth the CDs or DVDs we have to get, if we don't want to lose stuff. I have an external hard-drive too, but it's full, so back to DVDs.
And look at you, since then, you guys were really busy responding. Did you miss me?
My MOSTEST, it has not gotten here yet, but I'll give you a yell as soon as it's here - you know that I would not be able to keep that to myself. The year before they diagnosed me with fibromyalgia, I actually got to play soccer - was the goalie - but that was decades ago. After that, it was painful bowling but I wouldn't quit, and then that wonderful sports each mother gets to play with her newborn until it leaves the house.. oh yeah, it's called Motherhood.
I actually have a speech to text program in case I cannot type anymore, but thank goodness I don't need to use it yet. Also, my new pen allows me to scribble and it types for me - cool program, called Scribe. So, I'm all set in an emergency. I promise, you'll hear me, even if I just send brain waves across that big lake.
Hey there Starty, darling.. I'm staying out of politics for a while, just drop in on Magatory's thread because I just love the way he 'says it', but the others would just take too much out of me. Enjoy those Jetts dear. My cable TV is actually going to show some baseball games - and in English - I guess it's countdown for the finals. My dad used to love football and baseball and he explained a lot about them to me when my mom was not around. She'd get upset when we shared common interests. Too bad.
Well, I'm going to do a full backup now and hope that we don't get disconnected any time soon - it would take away my left arm and more - my AMHD family.. don't want that to happen. Stringer dear, call in your IT security people and make them aware of an issue - although they should already be informed.
Lost of love and hugs until then..

No interruption at all. This is where my AMHD family can talk to me any time and I am honored you joined in. Also glad to know that I helped you on your way to healing, dear. That's what I like to do is to help others as best as I can.
It seems that all of your prayers are helping me a lot because my monster has taken a break and stopped spreading so fast. My doctor said it puts me in the upper 10% with this medication - so I know all of you have contributed the greater part. I've never felt so welcome and loved before in my life. My little family and my AMHD family mean the world to me.
If you are so inclined dear jr.. find my address way back and send me a post card from Toronto. I collect them for my grandson so that he can have the biggest collection in history to remember his grandma by.

Good morning my dear Chery,
Bears have a bye week this week... no Bears football for me this weekend. BUT.. I have the DirectV All Pro Football Package, I get to see any game of American that I choose... so it will be a movie with Marta.. ha ha. She wants the two of us to go alone (we usually drag a crowd with us) and stop at a 'ol time 50's diner for burgers and a chocolate milkshake...
By the way... I will record the Steelers game for later... ssssssshhhhhh... K?;):)
I took the pictures of my outside displays of Halloween:eek:, the ones I took before it got dark came out OK but as it started to get dark they aren't as clear. I also took some of my office (where I "talk" to you guys!! And some of the exterior and interior of the house, I thought you could get an better idea of me, Marta and our home... I will email them to you so you can post whichever you choose for me. Of course if you do not mind or if you are too busy, I would understand my dear.:)

Hi my sweeties!
WOW, Stringer, those pictures are sure nice. I will post a few at a time here so that we all can enjoy them. I bet the place looks super at Christmas time too.
Starby, I too loved our conversation and hope it was not the last. My 'puter' lost it's spell-checker again and I just can't understand why.. maybe our computer gurus can come up with a solution. Glad that Nicki is doing OK. How's your hip doing? Be careful out in the snow please and don't slip. Where did you get that questionnaire you sent? That sucker was a long one but I got it all answered. Let me know what you found out about me...
Guess what, I called in for my prescriptions today and when my companion went to get them, my home-physician gave her a hard time. So I had to go there at 11:55 - he closes at 12:00 - and have a little talk with him. He's such a **stard°! I walked in and told him off, got my meds. But it makes me so mad that he just has to play games. My poor companion was so surprised that a doctor would dare to act the way he did. His wife, who is also a physician, just stood there not saying a word because she knew that I would have the upper hand with her too. His excuse was that the paracetamol was too dangerous for me, and I had to remind him that my blood was too thick and that I would have to take aspirin if I did not get the paracetamol... he didn't say anything about the codeine though (this med has both) and that my blood tests came out good last week, so no liver problems.
Grrrrr, I knew today was going to be like this.. but I also knew that I would win any debate - and I was ready for it. Sometimes we just know we are heading for days like this and I just mentally prepared for it.
Now, I can lay back and relax a bit. Tomorrow my nurse comes by and at least the poor thing won't get the brunt of my madness from today. Wednesday I will try and go to group coffee and Thursday is the start of my second series of an Avastin regimen.
I hope that my JC and Alex have no colds on the weekend because I need to get a new supply of hugs from them. My sweet grandson had something very important to tell me on the phone last night and I agreed with everything he was saying even though I didn't understand a darned word. He was so serious though, so I guess he had an exciting day. I wish I could have seen his face while he was talking, just bet he had super cute expressions that I missed.
So, now I will see if there are any new trolls around - cause I'm still ready for bear.
Talk to you later!

Mornin Momma C! I have to go through all of my emails and read them. I got that questionnaire from my Mom. That one was nothing... you should see the ones my Aunt sends me sometimes. They are as long as my arm, and it takes me 3 yrs to answer them... LOL!
Yes, I get worried about falling on the snow and ice. I've done more than a few times! I've got no one to shovel for me this yr. so that is the next on my list. I hope I can find a neighbourhood kid, and not have to hire a service, because they chrg. Outrageous prices. I also need to find someone to walk Nikster. It actually looks like it might snow today again. It's usually just a light dusting this time of yr. but that can still be very slippery. I can't afford to keep on falling. One of these days I'm going to fall the wrong way, and there goes my hip. Damn those guys for putting me in this condition.
I'm sure glad you went in and kicked some butt today with your Dr. You have enough to deal with, without their bullcrap! Give them hell Momma!
I enjoyed our visit so much, and that definitely won't be our last! We have too much to talk about! My LD plan is a very good one, so we can talk anytime. Just give me the word and I'm a phone call away! I just hope I can remember how I dialed it the last time. It's a good thing I'm used to calling England, or I wouldn't have been able to figure it out! ;) I'll get it right again. I just have to remember if I took off a zero or a one, or if I added one... LOL! When we talked, I figured it out by the ring tone, which is also how I know if I've got a # to England right. At least I have your country code now, so it's not too tough.
I hope you are able to see little Alex this wkd. and he doesn't have a cold anymore. I know he's probably got lots more to tell his Ama.
I think I might dig out my Halloween decorations today... if I can find them that is... and look around and see what kind of Goblin Snickers will be this yr. She actually has fun when I dress her up. She gets all excited! LOL! Halloween might also be an opportunity to ask the neighbourhood kids if they know someone that would like to make a few bucks walking her and shoveling for me. So I better make Niki nice and cute! LOL!
Good luck with your Avastin therapy Thurs. but I'm sure I'll talk to you sometime before then! :D
Muchly!

Yup, real tough today. So Where are my COOKIES?? I could swear that I got a whiff of them a few hours ago - could be my imagination.
Thanks for the good thoughts and vibes babe, and I'm sure that they will work - they have at least 4 days, so I see no problem - not with the love and power of will that you use.

I'm going today to get a couple of Pumpkins to carve, and see if I can find something scaaaarrryyy to dress up Niki, and decide what I'm going to wear to scare the crap out of the neighbourhood kids that come to the door... Muwaahahahaha! The price of candy is scary, so if they want some, I'll scare them right back! LOL! I love Halloween! It's my fave holiday!

LOL! Halloween here, and in the US is the 31st of October. Why do you go to the graveyards? I guess some do here too, but it's usually a bunch of bratty kids that cause damage to tombstones, which is very cruel, or they go there and have a party and try and scare each other, and make a huge mess and steal things, like flowers that people have brought. Damn kids! No respect! They need a good beating... LOL!

Thanks for asking starby.. The infusion was postponed until Monday morning at 8:00! And I am mad as heck!
First of all this morning my gut feeling told me to all can make a new appointment and stay home. Well, I didn't listen. As I walked in, there were over 20 patients. There are only 4 beds, 4 reclining chairs, and the remainder are chairs at 4 coffee tables (regular chairs). So, the nurse pointed to the remaining chair and said she's be right with me. I said that I could not - because I cannot sit, so I guess we'll have to make a new appointment. She said she'd talk to the doctor. Well my doc was not there today so she talked to the other one. The other one (as related by her) said that if I wanted to reserve a bed or recliner I would have to pay 50 Euro for it (nope, not kidding) or come tomorrow at 0800. I said that I could not make it Friday but could come on Monday - so that was arranged. You can well imagine what I thought of telling this person who does not even know me or my spinal condition.
Now, I have to pay for the taxi fee for this 'ride' because I did not get any treatment. The taxi driver was kind enough to trust me for the money after payday. He and I have a good rapport on our trips back and forth - thank goodness. The insurance company will not pay for a trip where no treatment occurred. The taxi ride alone is so painful to me each time, that the entire day is shot, but I bear it becaue I thought it was worth the trips. I'm really thinking twice about his whole thing now. I'm tired of putting up with this crap, stress and pain.
So, you can imagine how my disposition is today... mad!
I sincerely hope that I have a nice visit with my family this weekend, or I might go over the edge and really lay down the law on Monday morning at the Oncology clinic. What makes me mad is that someone who's never even seen me feels he can determine the conditions - NOPE, not any more in this life -I'm the customer and I decide what happens, not him.
I kept my cool today because the other people I saw sitting there today depressed me so. They looked so pityfull and ill. I wanted to ask them if they really wanted to continue to suffer and sit there with all loss of dignity, but I did not - it just hurts me so to see them suffer like this. Most of them were just skin and bones and the worst was their sad eyes. I will never ever forget that sight. I am more and more determined NOT to wind up like that, ever!
Thanks for listening to me rant, but I just had it for today. If I were a drinker, I'd be souced by now. I hope I am calmer when I talk to my family this evening.
Hope you all had a better day and that you enjoy Halloween! It too is one of my favorites. Too bad there have to be some who like to spoil it, but not all have had the proper guidance in life to know when to behave.
C.U.later on when I feel better.

Hi my dear friends. It's been a while, but I had a lot to do with my computer (not done yet) and then the doctor issue. My oncologist is on vacation and the other one just did not know or care about my spine and coxys, so I had to set him straight, which I did- I won, and at the end he asked me if I needed a prescription - I said no thank you.. and walked out. Got the infusion and will do two more, then I'll see if they all understand that I don't take crap from anyone. The nurses naturally are taking sides and try to make me feel it, but it does not phase me and I tell them off too. I'm just that kind of old gal...
had a super time with my grandson on Sunday, and gave my daughter her B-day present because Monday was her B-day. I reminded her that she was the miracle of my life and still is, and that she gave me another miracle - Alex. I am so super proud of her and don't miss a minute telling her that at least once a day.
I also had a chance to check out the pictures Stringer sent me, and WOW, I love his house and bet that there is so much warmth and comfort there. It is not a show-place, it's a place where people LIVE and LOVE!
I am going to attach the Halloween décor he had this year - bet it looked better in the dark with lights.. but he did a beautiful job and hope you enjoy them too. Sorry it's a little late, but as you now know, I've been busy with a few other things. I even found a few old pictures of me, and it brought back memories. More on those later..
So, going to try and attach the pics at once, if not, then I'll post a new post and add the rest.
Also, found a cute Joke of the Week that I will share... since you have not heard from me for a while, I needed to share at least a bit with you..
OK guys, you know I love you all, so please don't feel offended...
SMILE OF THE WEEK
(contributions for this section are most welcome)
=: Why Some Men Have Dogs And Not Wives :=
1. The later you are, the more excited your dogs are to see you.
2. Dogs don't notice if you call them by another dog's name.
3. Dogs like it if you leave a lot of things on the floor.
4. A dog's parents never visit.
5. Dogs agree that you have to raise your voice to get your point across.
6. You never have to wait for a dog; they're ready to go 24 hours a day.
7. Dogs find you amusing when you're drunk.
8. Dogs like to go hunting and fishing.
9. A dog will not wake you up at night to ask, "If I died, would you get another dog?"
10. If a dog has babies, you can put an ad in the paper and give them away.
11. A dog will let you put a studded collar on it without calling you a pervert.
12. If a dog smells another dog on you, they don't get mad. They just think it's interesting.
13. Dogs like to ride in the back of a pickup truck.
And last, but not least:
14. If a dog leaves, it won't take half of your stuff.

For all of you who saw the picture of Stringer and Marta, you'll understand why I feel that he and I have a 'soul mate' relationship... the man in the picture is the one I almost married (was with him for three years) but my mother spoiled that.. We are still friends today.
We were on a cruise in Greece in the 70's here.

Now, I will show you what Jaime looked like when she was a little girl, then I will present the latest picture of my Alexander. He wants to call me each evening now and tell me all about his day. He misses me as much as I miss him and he is always happy to see me.. So I must be doing something right.
I spent some time looking at her baby pictures too and makes me wish I could sometimes start all over again and have more...

Bow Chika Bow Wow! Look at you in your pretty dress, and a hottie by your side and meeting the Capt'n Momma C. Looks like a great memory!
I can't believe how much Alex looks like his Ama. Just want to pinch his chubby little cheeks and love him up!

Hey girl, when I set my mind to something, I'll get there. I even got my smileys back. Don't know for how long, but it's the little things that make me happy too.
Yup, during those old days, I had no problem meeting and dating all kinds of men. Some just wanted a 'Barbie' to show off, but he and another guy were serious about the real me. Too bad my mom ruined it, but then again, I would not have Jaime and Alexander. So things worked out the way they were planned for me and I accept it with all humbleness and happiness.
I also accept the fact that until I take my last breath, I will have something in my life to tackle and prove myself over and over again - but I can handle it - especially when I have so many AMHD family members that support me with their warmth and loving!

This last one.... the FOUR STAGES OF LIFE.... is my favorite! Was only allowed to place 6 images in, so a few are not included.. but I picked out the best.
Just had to see if this would work, and thank goodness it did. I had to share these goodies with all. I sure loved them!
Thanks Starby for approving of me being the CatWoman now.. It's great being free to do things the way I want to from now on.
And Alexander is just being such a super little boy! As if he knows that's what his Ama needs.

Huh? Don't understand that one.. I clicked with my right mouse and got the list, and you can save image as... try it... But, I am using Firefox 3.0 and not the Internet Explorer. The stupid IE is such a pain and has too many restrictions and I don't want to mess with re-setting all those internet options that never get it right anyway.
My Firewall (other than what Windows has) and Antivirus (AVG8) program protect me enough, so I don't need the other crap that Internet Explore prohibits if you don't understand how to set it up. Heck, with the Internet Explorer, I could not even click on links to get to them (not even the links here on AMHD). I always had to switch to Firefox, so I am sticking to that from now on.

Chery, how precious to see the photo of you, Jamie and Alex. I love seeing photos of everyone. I guess I missed the photos of Stringer and Marta! I had been trying to keep up but just ended up crashing and burning for a bit! LOL
You look like such a lady! I don't think I ever did. LOL
Jamie and Alex'x sweet little lips look so much alike. How precious. Just want to hug them both. I have been going through some photos and it just warms the heart, doesn't it and to see the similarities between our children and theirs. I didn't look like anyone in my family and thought I was adopted for years. Then my son stands in my mother's living room at around age 9, holding a photo of mother's dad and they could have been twins, well, brothers maybe. It was good for me to see that.
Alex has matured so much since the last photo I saw of him. OH goodness, just want to hug him.

I think I got what you mean now. When I sent them via email, there were only boxes without images... that's a problem I have with Yahoo. I always have to 'attach' them and not paste them into the text. So, from now on, I'll forward and you'll have to scroll way down to see anything, but it will be there, or attach them for you to open them that way. Sorry I didn't understand you the first time, love...
I get brain-farts now and then at my age.. need some rest and maybe time off from working on the computer for a while, now that I have a few important things working and can relax. Give me a few days and I'll be my old self again.

Thanks for noticing the 'mouth' trait. It's from my side of the family (my cousin also has those lips - and so do her kids) and mine was like that too until I had my stroke. Now one side hangs down a bit. But I too had the full smoocher's lips then just like JC and her son. Just goes to show that those genes of mine are pretty strong and will get passed on through my grandson - well maybe - if he does not choose an 'alternate' lifestyle. But even if he does, he is still loved forever and ever, no matter what.
Just the smile and sparkles in his eyes when he sees me, absolutely make me melt. I'm in love! I can't wait until our next phone call tomorrow evening, it's almost a ritual now. I can hear his dad in the background just enjoying the conversation his son is so seriously having. Jaime told me that after dinner, Alex always looks toward the phone cradle to see if it is there, as if he knows it's about that time...
So even though I had a bit of stress these past days, there was always a bright time to look forward to - and then coming here to share makes it even better.

Yes we are. When my husband and I lived in Georgia, he had to go to a Dermatologist Convention in Harris Neck, so he invited us for dinner there. My husband at that time, was so jealous that he beat me when we got home. Even though he acted normal during dinner.
We mailed each other a while after my divorce, but he married a girl that looked just like me two years after I married. He has a Dermatology Practice and specializes in Hair Transplants in Albeq. New Mexico - so no sparks there, but still friendship.
The other guy who took me for me instead of a Barbie is a Pulmonary Disease Specialist in Long Beach, Calif now. When I was dating them, they were in the US Army as doctors in the hospital I worked in.
Some of the best clinicians throughout the U.S. stem from service in the Military - take it from me - I worked with them and know how they think. While serving in the military, they did not think money as they worked for a monthly salary - and really cared for their patients. If you've ever seen MASH, then you can envision just a bit of what I'm talking about.. and now with the war going on - these guys are ready and willing to do their best - and they honestly do. And the hospital I worked in is the one who gets all war patients first before they even get sent to the U.S. the so-called Flagship.
I met some 'reserve' docs who came to help during the first Irak war, and they acted like it was hurting them because their private practice was not bringing anything in... and thought they were better - too bad. Wars seem to bring out the best and the worst in some people.
Yup, your Momma C has been to a lot of places and seen a lot of things during her life. I'm not done yet either...

Momma C, I think I missed the post where you said you had an attack. I'm sorry for that. However, it surprised me that my grandpa also had an attack and has half the body 'paralyzed'. I know how it is.
I've heard that some people manage to get over that handicap and use both sides of their body. Did you manage too? Sorry if that seems a rather intimate question, and no need to reply to my question if you don't want to.

Yes dear, I had a stroke and was in hospital for many, many months before my grandson was born and after that - glad that I managed to win that battle to be able to be with him. Jaime answered my mail for me a few times then. I recovered from that, have full use of limbs and all, but the muscle in my face never did completely regenerate. It took a lot of will-power and I admit, I did fall into a bit of depression during this time, but I'm OK as far as that illness is concerned. Now, my other ones just have a party at my expense some times, but I am used to that too. Life goes on - one way or the other - and I am still a fighter. Plus, I also have all of your best wishes and support here on AMHD and I do believe that it works.
Going over to the castle now for a bit to see how the court case is going, and then get some rest. Was out doing stuff today and it tires me a bit..
c.u. later.

NEW ZEALAND POLICE...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GOOD
A cop from the NZ Police was watching for speeders, but wasn't getting many.
Then he discovered the problem - a 12-year-old boy was standing up the road with a hand painted sign, which read 'RADAR TRAP AHEAD.'
The officer then found a young accomplice down the road with a sign reading 'TIPS' and a bucket full of money ( And we used to just sell lemonade!)
BETTER
A motorist was mailed a picture of his car speeding through an automated radar post in the Manawatu with a Fine of $160 included.
Being cute, he sent the police department a picture of $160
The police responded with another mailed photo of handcuffs.
BEST
A young woman was pulled over for speeding.
As a NZ Policeman walked to her car window, flipping open his ticket book, she said, 'I bet you are going to sell me a ticket to the Policemen's Ball.'
He replied, 'The New Zealand Policemen don't have balls.'
There was a moment of silence while she smiled, and he realized what he'd just said.
He then closed his book, got back in his patrol car and left.
She was laughing too hard to start her car.

Hey everybody!
Just dropping in for a quick seond again... Still working on the mid-term assigments and projects. EXTREMELY stressful! So, thanks M, those jokes really cheered me up :).
I wish I could tune in and contribute more often. I will in a week or so... I feel so behind!
Congratulations stringer! You must have had one hell of a decorated house! Must have been fun!
And thanks again, M, for the jokes. After 5 hours of homework, that helped:). Finally, Friday is here! AND, I have Monday off! 3 day weekend, I can finally sleep!
Anyway, I've got to sleep now, for however long I can... Get ready for tomorrow... Glad to see you are doing well, and I'll talk to you later! (hopefully sooner than later :)) Probably over at the castle :)
Night!

In fact I was going to put a couple of them in my tag lines before, but I forgot. I guess that would apply to #15 LOL! I also can definitely relate to #'s! 2,3,4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 12, 14, 22, 27, 28, and drumroll... 29!. and that's just today! LOL!

I just now came across this thread. How in the heck did I miss it? My thoughts and prayers are with Chery and her family.
Chery, I have posted with you a couple of times and it constantly amazes me that with all that you have gone through yourself that you still have it in you to help someone else with your excellent advice. So many other people would have given up and focused on themselves. That is what makes you a one of kind - there is no one else like you.
I just wish that I would have come across this thread a LOT sooner.

Hi my dear lovelies!
Yeah, Stringer has a Scorpio in the family too! Please pass on my best wishes to Nathan.. And, Congrats! - you well deserve the prize, no matter what it is. I'm so proud of my MOSTEST! Those of you who would like to see the pictures.. visit the Haunted Castle - I posted them there..
Starby, I know how you like to arrange floral things and wish I could find some interesting things for you. If I were in the States, I'd find some Indian Corn - I love the colors on those ears... Here, I used to take walks and collect the most colorful 'weeds', then dry them between pages. It's still fun letting artistic urges loose.
Unky... whether we get along with our family members or not.. I've divorced myself from one of my brothers because he was not treating me with respect - I still love him and worry about him while he's in Irak, but I also had to think about me and the stress. It would hurt me to have something happen to him too. Nobody really deserves to suffer unless they have made others suffer all their life on purpose - and believe that they know what they did wrong - and eventually will be sorry for what they did. And, there is nothing wrong with showing or expressing your feelings - as humans, we all have that right, dear.
Friend.. I just love those three cute jokes about the New Zealand Police- never heard of them and naturally am going to pass them on to my other friends. Just super, thanks.
Oh, and those 29 lines... one is better than the other! I know my brother will just love the original point and click interface!
jr... hope the stress of study is over soon and that you enjoy some free time dear. I'm sure you'll be rewarded for all that hard work.
Mom of 2 - welcome honey, better late than never and I love it when you come on board, any time... This site and the AMHD Family has done so much for me, so I will always be here to help and advise for as long as I can - it keeps me going.
Starby and Rebby, I'm OK, just spiked a fever and chills since Monday and getting a little weak from it. My joints are burning too so I needed to just stay in bed and under the covers. Unfortunately, I won't be able to spend time with my family because I don't want them to get sick and that depresses me a bit, but otherwise things are less stressful as last week. I just get mad at my body sometimes and just shut down.
I hope all is well with all of you, my dear AMHD Family and that you are planning on having a Wonderful Weekend.
I might drop by at the castle a little later after forcing myself to eat something - mostly liquid.

Momma C, where are you? Please, come back, let us know that you're okay.
I haven't been around much lately, and this trend will probably continue. My grandmother is dying, she won't survive the week, possibly won't survive the night. I can't go see her, I can't, it's too much everyone.
Starby, since I got off the phone with you I've been crying. It's too much on my shoulders, I can't be there for everyone anymore, I'm always there for everyone, when is someone going to be there for me? No one ever has. I'm the strong one, I'm the one that has to keep it together, comfort everyone, make the arrangements, say the eulogy, tell everyone that it's going to be all right.
Why? After all is said and done, my Aunts and Uncles will go to their houses, with their kids, and their grandkids. My cousins will go to their parents place, talk to each other, love each other, comfort each other. I'll go home, to my husband and my children (and yes, they are a blessing) and the rest of my family won't give me a second thought until they need me again.
I'm sorry that I'm posting this here. I don't want to steal the focus away from Chery. Please, ignore this post, I just needed to write it down. Just ignore it okay? Please. Sorry. :(

NOOO! We are NOT going to ignore your post! You are also allowed to say NO! It doesn't all have to fall on your shoulders! It's time you stood up to them and told them (you know who I mean) that this time they can take that burden and lift it off your shoulders dammit! You don't need to carry the weight of everyone!
You can't be Superwoman Alty! You have to tell them to step up and do the things they are suppose to do. You have enough to do! If you are needed in any capacity, then delegate, and use your skills to tell everyone what THEY have to do, and bow out. Don't let them back you into a corner. That is not you!
You know the players involved here, so just tell them that you will be there, but will not orgagnize everything for them. They need to step up and do what they know they should be doing. They can't pile this up once again on Alty's shoulders! It's not right... and it's not fair. Who has been the "caretaker" of your Grandma?. so to speak. Let her step up and do this.
Back away Alty. Don't let this bring you more stress. Don't let them make you feel guilt by telling you that you are the "strong one". Even the "strong ones" have a breaking point. It's time to pass the responsibility off to her children. This is NOT your job.

Alty, it is a lonely place to be where you are. You probably feel you have no choice although you do as has been shared earlier. Each of us hurt for the other here in this "virtual" family. You have such a giving heart and that makes you hurt more than some would in the same situation. Please just know whatever decisions you make in handling this, we stand with you. If you stand to give the eulogy, please just feel our presence, each of us who love you, standing beside you, holding you up, giving you strength. We are here for you if you choose to delegate. Just feel us love you and hold you and comfort you in your time of hurts in your heart and in the time you feel you cannot do one more thing. Sometimes we just have to know that we have a choice and when we realize that, we sometimes choose to do the exact thing we didn't feel we could do but having the choice, gives us great freedom. I love you Alty. I am so sorry you are having to go through this. You have been through so much. Just know we love you. Rebbie!

I'm sorry I wrote that post, I didn't mean to make you all worried. I just wrote it and didn't think before I posted. I'll be okay, I always am. Remember, I'm the strong one, I'll be strong again. I really don't have a choice.

I probably won't be around much for the next little bit. To top it all off we have a wedding to go to on Saturday. I'm not in a very wedding kind of mood. I may just have to cancel that, but it's a dear friend of mine that's getting married. I'm sure she'll understand though.
I will go to the hospital tomorrow, hubby is going with me so that I don't have to stand there alone while everyone else stays in their family groups. I miss my parents so much right now, it feels like they just died yesterday.
Thanks again everyone, I could never express in words how much your support means to me. You are all so precious to me, know that. :)

Good morning my dear friends,
My grandmother passed away last night.
Today she is with my parents, that is what I believe, that is what I must believe. I hope in my heart that there is a heaven, and that one day I will join them all there.
I didn't go to see her. I was going to go today. It's too late. Did she know that I love her?
I'll be gone a lot the next few days. I'll stop in when I can, or when I'm going crazy.
I love you all so much.

Alty, I am sorry to hear of your grandmother's passing. I think everyone feels if they aren't with their loved one right at the end, that they have failed them in some way but it is not so. It is who you were to her through out your life. She knew without a doubt of your love for her. When death comes, it comes according to a time table we cannot control. You know how I believe in my faith as I have shared with you before and I believe sometimes God just knows it would make it more difficult for some people to be present at the end. God may have been protecting you, out of His love for you, as it might have been harder had you been present. Just know your grandmother knew how much you loved her and you need to know how much we all love you.
Alty
Nov 10, 2008, 11:50 AM
Thank you so much Rebbie. Deep down I do know that she felt my love, and knew that I do love her. It simply was too hard to go to the hospital, I couldn't do it.
I don't regret that choice, now I can remember her the way she was. To this day I still remember my mother the way she was in the end of her life, I cannot remember the healthy, vibrant women that she was. I don't need another bad memory, I have enough to last me a life time.
Of course my Aunts and Uncles don't understand, they are upset that I didn't go to the hospital and say my final good byes. That is what's upsetting me now. Why do people have to make you feel bad about something that you can't change?
jrebel7
Nov 10, 2008, 12:04 PM
Alty, one of the most difficult things for me is feeling I have disappointed someone so I understand but there are times we just do not have it in us to do certain things. Others feel better sometimes if they can attack someone else or make them feel bad. Just know you made a decision and they do not need to know why. I always like to give the response if someone asks me why I didn't do this or that or why other things, just look at them and say, "I can't believe you would even ask that question." Then smile and walk away. You do not have to answer to them Sweets. You need peace in your heart.
Alty
Nov 10, 2008, 12:12 PM
Thank you Rebbie, you're right. I don't have to justify my actions to anyone, and I'm fine with the choice that I made. I'm glad that my Oma found peace, and that she's with my parents again. To lose a child, as she did, is the hardest thing, I can't imagine it. Now she's finally reunited with my Dad, her first born. :)

Alty
I'm really sorry to hear about your Grandmother :( I've been there and know the hollow feeling it brings even though we know its happening.
My Father died a few years ago and unfortunately due to circumstances that I won't go into I also couldn't see him the night before he passed :(
I have posted this song before and it's the song I always listen to when I want to just sit back and remember him , he was my hero!!
I hope you like it!
Chin up , and you know we all Love you a lot :)

Thank you M. :)
I've been in this position before too, but it really doesn't get any easier. I thought that I had pretty much gotten immune to death and how losing someone feels, I guess not.
In the past few years I wasn't as close to my Oma as I used to be. She moved in with my Aunt and my Aunt pretty much took over, moved all of us out of Oma's life and moved herself and her children in. Not physically, but emotionally.
Now that Oma is gone, my Aunt is starting to realize that she ostrasized everyone else in the family. My Oma's death will be the easy part in all of this (bad as it sounds), the battle afterwards, between her and my Uncles, well, I can predict with 100% accuracy that it isn't going to go well. I will be in the middle, this I can also guarantee.
Right now I'm just concentrating on what has to be done in the next few days, I'll deal with everything else as it comes. Who knows, maybe they'll all surprise me, but I doubt it.
Thanks for posting that song. I too had a very strong relationship with my father. I too was not there when he died, nor was my mother. My father passed on very quickly from the cancer that spread through his body. My mother and I were always at the hospital, not always at the same time, but if one of us was absent the other was there. The day we were told that there was no hope and that he'd only live a few more days at most, we decided to go to the house together and get a few things to make the hospital room more like home. That was the first time that both of us were absent from the hospital. Shortly after we left my father passed on.
My mother never forgave herself, I'm more realistic. Perhaps he needed us to leave in order to feel that he could go. The doctors said the same thing, that most people die when everyone is gone.
Of course my mother passed away 6 1/2 months after my dad, also from cancer, and also when I left the room for a minute. Those little buggers. ;)
Thanks again M, your friendship means so much to me.

I'll be gone alot the next few days. I'll stop in when I can, or when I'm going crazy.
I love you all so much.
And we love you dear.
Of course she knows that you love her - and always will. You keep her alive in you with all of your fond memories - that's what we all rely on when we pass on to the next stage. She will always be with you - in your heart - and I can't think of a better place to rest.. in the heart of those we love.
Take your time mourning - then do a lot of smiling when you think of all the wonderful times you had together. You'll remember the smells in her kitchen, her laughter, her favorite color, and most of all - her without pain and bodily weaknesses.. so be happy for her too.
Love,
Chery

Momma C, where are you? Please, come back, let us know that you're okay.
I haven't been around much lately, and this trend will probably continue. My grandmother is dying, she won't survive the week, possibly won't survive the night. I can't go see her, I can't, it's too much everyone.
Starby, since I got off the phone with you I've been crying. It's too much on my shoulders, I can't be there for everyone anymore, I'm always there for everyone, when is someone going to be there for me? No one ever has. I'm the strong one, I'm the one that has to keep it together, comfort everyone, make the arrangements, say the eulogy, tell everyone that it's going to be alright.
Why? After all is said and done, my Aunts and Uncles will go to their houses, with their kids, and their grandkids. My cousins will go to their parents place, talk to eachother, love eachother, comfort eachother.
Please. Sorry. :(
Honey, you are strong.. that's why your other family members count on you so much. You are also a pillar of strength to us all here on AMHD - and we have felt that strength many, many times.
You are only human honey, and you too suffer, so it's OK for you to come here and let us know how you feel and that you need some support. You will receive all the support we can muster - and well deserved.
I'm so sorry about your grandmother and know when she leaves this planet, she will no longer be in pain, frail, or helpless in the shell she's had for so long. She's ready to evolve out of that shell now, and move on to bigger and better things. She also knows that you will keep her alive in your heart with all the fond memories you have - she too will wrap her arms around you - and you will feel this when you need it most. I am certain of this, my love, and hope you too believe it.
So, take your time and come back to us when you are ready. Right now, do what we humans have to do (some of it automatic), then we break down for a while, but after that - you will see, just as we all need to, that life will go on ---- with one extra angel in your corner and in your heart.

My dear, dear friends, need, family.
I adore all of you so much. Even though your words brought tears to my eyes, they are good tears, tears that need to be released, cleansing tears, and I appreciate it. I have a hard time crying, sometimes I need a bit of help. ;)
I've started the eulogy, but I'm a bit stuck. I don't want to make it just about my memories, my experiences with Oma, I want it to be fore everyone. Of course I don't want to call everyone and ask for a quote or a story, the eulogy would be 3 hours long then. This is what I have so far, it isn't done, but what do you all think?
Maria Frank
Daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, mother in law, she wore all these name tags and more.
A women that moved to a new country twice in her lifetime, spoke 3 languages, raised 6 children, and lived to see her grandchildren grow up and have children of their own.
She lived a good life, a life full of joy, full of happiness. Yes, there was heartache along the way, but she survived it, she took it in stride and kept moving on.
She lost her father, lost a husband, her mother and a child. She mourned those losses, but she wouldn't want us to mourn our loss today.
She is now in a better place, with the loved ones that went before her. She is at peace, at rest, and she has left us with memories and the feeling of her love in our hearts. As long as we keep those memories alive, she will live on forever.
My memories are many. Family barbeques, picking the raspberries on the side of her old house. Christmas eve (she always gave me extra turkey skin because it's my favorite), I always looked forward to that, seeing all of my family, Oma sitting by the tree in her family room, passing out presents for her children, and cards to her grandchildren (which of us didn't appreciate the money in those cards?), birthdays, weddings, baby showers, coffee at her house on Sundays. In recent years the get togethers where few, but every time we were all together you could see a smile on her face, she loved her family so much, each and every one of us. We are her legacy, her life's work. Let's make her proud.
The Matriarch of our family, the strong women we all knew and loved. May we all find a bit of her strength so that we can get through this difficult time together. She would not want our tears; she would not want our sadness. Remember who she was in life, not who she is in death.
I know we will miss her everyday of our lives, until the time when we too will pass into paradise, and then we'll see her again.
I won't say goodbye Oma, I will see you again, I know it in my heart. Until then, guard over your family, watch us from heaven, our own guardian angel. We are truly blessed.

That's beautiful Alty! I have tears rolling down my face. So nicely written, and from your heart. I think you summed it all up, and there probably isn't much more to say, as I think you've covered it all.
Now, you are done with that part of it, sit back and relax for awhile! You deserve it. Oh, the kids are home for the week aren't they! Okay, well sit down for 1.2 seconds then, and breathe and dream of bubbles! BUBBLES... BUBBLES... BUBBLES!. and more bubbles!!
I didn't call lastnite, because I figured you were probably worn right out and needed some sleep. Call me anytime though. I'm dogless for part of the day. Snickers is off with the groomer, and she will come home looking all perty I'm sure! I'll probably have an excited buckin bronco on my hands when she gets back I'm sure! LOL!

Alty, you did a beautiful job on the eulogy. You encompassed many subjects and memories using few words. That is a gift to be able to do that. As I read it, I got a beautiful picture of a giving, loving woman, strong woman, one to be admired. Just beautiful.

Thank you guys. You don't think it's too short? I could go on, but then it would be mostly stories of her and me, and I don't want to make it all about my memories. I tried to keep it neutral, so that no one feels left out.
I'll run it by my Uncles, see what they think, if they have anything to add. :)

I don't think it's too short Alty, unless like you said, your Uncles would like to add a word or two. I really think if they want to do that though, they could probably come up and say their own words that they want to share. Don't let the whole load be on your shoulders, you'll wear yourself out!
You still have the other things to deal with too, so don't spread yourself too thin. You'll need your energy for other matters also. ;)

Somewhere on this planet it is Happy Hour, so go and fix yourself a nice drink dear and enjoy it!
What you wrote is not too long or too short - it's just right!
I have not had a drink in over 20 years, but if I ever would again, it would be a nice cold glass of Bailey's. There is something about that drink that just tastes sooo goood.
One of my dentist friends of 20 years gave me a bottle of expensive Champaign for Christmas - when I reminded him that I no longer drink, he told me to save it for when I get ready to move on off this planet.. that's when I thought that it was really a nice gesture - what a way to go - moving on with bubbly instead of in a hospital! I hope it will be in the cabinet for a while yet because I still have so much to do, but it's there just in case.
I had my hair cut today and feel 10 years younger. I wonder what Jaime is going to say when she sees it as I never had it that short before - looks really 'fresh' with a lot of gel in it.
Alty baby, relax for a while now, Momma C's orders.. you need your energy for yourself and your family too.
Night, night, all. C.U. tomorrow!

Hi all!
Oma's funeral was today, what a masquerade. They decided that they didn't want me to read the eulogy, the pastor wrote and read one instead. He went to my Aunts house to ask questions about my Oma for the eulogy. Well, my Aunt is very self absorbed, so most of the things she talked about where about her life, not Oma's. It was so bad that even thought the pastor stated twice that my Oma was an only child, he kept referring to her 5 sons as her brothers.
At the end of it my other Aunt came up to me and said "well now we've had Auntie's funeral, I wonder when we'll have Oma's".
I showed her the eulogy I wrote, and she cried. "Oh Alty, I wish that you would have been allowed to read this, it would have been much more appropriate".
My Uncle from out of town, my Oma's second youngest son asked me if I was going to Oma's house afterwards for coffee and cake (even though we had a luncheon after the funeral). I didn't know about it. He told me that everyone was invited. Not me. I decided not to go.
I'm glad it's over, and I'm trying not to be upset about the whole thing.
Oh, one thing good came of it. Hubby's sister (who we haven't been on speaking terms with for 1 1/2 years) came to the funeral to offer her support. This is the first time that she's reached out. We've tried many times to no avail. Maybe this relationship can be mended after all. I hope so.
What a day, I'm so glad it's done.

Bless your heart Alty! That was a horrible experience but I am so glad your aunt got to read the eulogy you wrote. I am sure she will pass the word. I am just so sorry as I know you put your heart into every word.
Good things do come out of bad sometimes and hopefully, there will be a healing with your husband and his sister and all within the family.
Funerals are so stressful anyway. You did not need this added to it. Think of all the people, world wide that has had the privilege to read the eulogy you wrote. What an amazing thing if you think about it. Your Oma would be so proud of you. You can end your day today feeling loved by all of us and by your Oma, as well as others in your family of course, but knowing you put forth the effort to honor her... how precious that was of you. Thankfully, we only answer for what we do and not what others do and you did your best! I am very proud of you. Love and Hugs!!

I'm so sorry the funeral didn't turn out the way it was meant to Alty. Your Oma would be proud of you for what you tried to do though. I'm sure she understands the circumstances of the whole thing. I will call you later if you aren't too worn out. I have to run out for awhile, so I'm not sure what time. If you're tired, don't worry, we will talk soon.
Rebby, I just received your email about your sis-in-law. You did tell me about that when we last spoke, but I'm so sorry that you have to go through this. I will repley to your email, or I will call you also. I don't want to bother anyone when it is just such a hard time. You know you can ALWAYS call me at any time also right?
As I said, I need to run out for awhile, but I will be back later. I'm sorry both of you are going through all of this right now. I think of you both every single day.
I'll talk to both of you soon. :)

Rebbie, I hope that you're okay. You know that we're all here for you if you need to talk. Anytime my dear, anytime. :)
I would like to share a poem with all of you, it's the one thing the pastor shared with us that I actually really appreciated. I've heard it before, and it's very fitting. I hope you all enjoy it, and live it. :)
The Dash Poem
by Linda Ellis
I read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
From the beginning to the end
He noted that first came the date of her birth
And spoke the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years
For that dash represents all the time
That she spent alive on earth.
And now only those who loved her
Know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not how much we own;
The cars, the house, the cash,
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.
So think about this long and hard.
Are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left,
That can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough
To consider what's true and real
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.
And be less quick to anger,
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we've never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect,
And more often wear a smile
Remembering that this special dash
Might only last a little while.
So, when your eulogy is being read
With your life's actions to rehash
Would you be proud of the things they say
About how you spent your dash?

Yes it is simple and probably "old" information but it is still true now and will always be. So, this is my little gift to you today, be well, feel good, and keep on, you are stronger than you believe. You haven't even begun to test yourself.
Sometimes when I get down or blue with all that can happen I play this (and others) to help. And it does, because I believe that each of us is responsible for their own happiness, success, and answers...
That, of course does not mean that we can't use a shoulder from time to time. I have had many mentors and friends over the years (and now) that have offered me "that shoulder" but almost all of them have said "you can do this,"... one more time.

Yep, I guess in all fairness we should disclose now that the Deputy is being fitted X-ray goggles, suit of armor (sorry Start), a machine gun that fires paint bullets (not wanting to hurt the Duck) that splash permanent bright orange paint all over the subject (Duck) that cannot be washed off. And a night "duckscope" for this machine gun...
He is ready for the constant chase and pursuit of the ONE feathered Duckie... hahahahahahahahahaha...

I don't write my letter in Microsoft word, never have, and actually don't know how. So I don't have the option of writing a bit and then saving. I honestly have never learned how to do that. I am afraid that further research into this matter is necessary on your part DUCK.
1. It has been stated early this week in my post that you have been reduced to one feather and all "fuzz" is to be removed permanently.
2. You were mislead, misguided and confused (again); what the Deputy and I let you find was nothing more than Fool's Gold and Confederate Certificate Money, both worthless...
But rest assured that... we still love you and like playing with you!:D:D

Ducky, is it true, is all the money conterfeit? But we spent some of it, we went to the bar, had drinks, danced on the tables and... oh, I wasn't supposed to mention that. Ooops. :o
What are we going to do?
I think we should steal the Sheriffs credit card, we'll max out the card, go on a cruise, find an island that's bunny and ducky friendly, somewhere that they'll never find us.
Grab the cabana boys, they'll help us distract the Sheriff and then I'll swipe his wallet. :)

I do not use my credit cards on line much at all, once in the last three or four months. I called Ticketmaster to order those tickets for the Rockettes the day before Thanksgiving.
We got a call from our credit card company asking us if we charged $517.00 at a children's store in New York City. Of course we haven't been to New York. We said no and they took the charge off our bill, canceled the card and sent us new ones... Thank goodness that they were checking huh?

Hi 'kids' see that you've been a bit busy here and sorry that I have not had the time to come in and catch up..
I have to use my oxygen more often now so I could not spend much time with Alex today and that made me sad. He even cried when I got out of the car. He gives me more hugs and kisses lately too - so it hurts even more not to be with him. I love that little man so much it hurts and makes me mad that my body won't let me spend more time.
I cried after they left and am still so pissed that fate has decided my life will be so short - and not give me time with Alex for at least a few more years. Am crying now just thinking about this. My body is killing me, but I am trying hard not to let it do this to my spirit or soul - it's hard sometimes and I don't know if I could do it without you all and my family.
So, you see that the weakness of my body takes over too much and depresses me at times, but also be aware, that without you, it would be harder.
Be patient with me and I will try my best to come on for a while later on.
Love,
Chery

Chery, I am so sad that you are crying. But you just cry your little heart out as needed. Tears help sometimes to calm our nerves, by releasing some of our stress and sadness. You are such a strong person and loving. You are touching so many lives all over this ol' world. Many are going through some of the same things you are and I know it helps to see we are not alone in our struggles. I think sometimes, that lonely feeling comes in when we are ill because illness is something that affects those around us yet we are the only one actually experiencing the physical pain of needing the oxygen, of nerve endings hurting, of no position being comfortable to be in, sitting or standing, etc. It is one thing for a person to say they understand but until a person walks in the same shoes and the same body, we can only try to understand and all we can do is offer our support and tell you we love you and our hearts are full of compassion for what you are feeling, physically as well as emotionally. I know if you could kick this thing in the butt, you would do it in a New York minute and the victory would be yours. Realizing we are vulnerable is not something we feel every day but when our bodies hurt, then we begin to feel that vulnerability. You sharing your experience on this thread is invaluable for so many. Please know we appreciate you so much. You sharing about Alex and Jamie is also special to us. I am so thankful you have time with them. I know it hurts your heart when you can't be with them as long as you would like because you are hurting. I wish all of us could come to where you live and just envelope you in so much love, there would be no room for illness or pain. I love you Chery. Hang in there knowing you are much loved. Your sense of humor is such a wonder drug for all of us. Thank you for perservering and for loving us!

Rebby my sweet, you've got me crying again, but these are tears of gratefulness. Grateful that I have you wonderful people here to talk to when I'm up or down. Your words comfort me and I know that if you were here, you'd do more than that.. and I would do the same for you.
My companion comes again tomorrow and she too is so wonderful to me, since 2006, she's been there and also hugs me - even though we are only on a 'professional' basis - she gives me the feeling that she really cares. She calls me on weekends and evenings on her off-duty time when she knows that I had a rough week, and she's such a wonderful person. I always look forward to her visits and she gets just as excited about coming. She tells me that I light up her days and teach her more than books could. She liked a particular picture of me holding Alex shortly after he was born, and I printed it out for her and gave it to her in a frame - she was so happy to get it and told me she will always have a special place for it in her home to remember me by. We also talk about the love and pride we have in our children and the fears we have for them as the world changes for the worst.
Going to take a break from the oxygen now and smoke a cig - I need it. Am also downloading a few albums from my favorite site where each track only costs me 15 cents - so loading up on my music collection and will spend the remainder of the evening enjoying these tunes - it will help me a bit.
I was going to answer some relationship posts, but see that there is nothing too crucial at the moment, so will tackle that issue tomorrow. Right now, Momma C needs a break and I know the world will still keep on turning - thank goodness. I just need to blast my head with some music to forget my pain and sadness for a while.
So, until tomorrow... please have a good evening and share a candle with me too.
Thanks again rebby, you always know the right things to say and I appreciate it more than you'll ever know.

Hi Momma! Blast that music of yours, and I'll light one of my apple candles and blast mine too.
I couldn't believe it. I was so angry lastnite. My headache had finally gone away for a bit (back now) and I wrote a very long letter to Rebby, which I was going to send you a copy of also. Just before hitting send, it disappeared.
So later on, I thought, well I'll write you one, and send a copy of that to Rebby. I wrote a really long one again. It took me almost an hr. and I had told you about many things. Again... I got to almost the end, and bang... into Cyber Space it went again. Well I could have picked up my computer and threw it on the floor I was so damn mad! I just couldn't believe it happened twice in a row.
I don't know how to write it through Microsoft word, or how to save it along the way. I write all of mine through hotmail. That is the one I know how to navigate, and I'm not so good at the other programs.
I hope your day got a little better sweets, and you are enjoying your music tonight! :)
I will try and write another letter once this awful headache goes away. It's hard to stare at the screen for too long.

Thanks Stringy. Yes I have XP. I guess I'll have to figure out how to do it that way. It's just such a pain in the A$$ when you get used to doing it one way, but I guess it WAY more of a pain when you lose a long letter. (It seems to me though, that I have also typed letters in Outlook before. I remember in fact typing a letter of complaint to a local supermarket, and I went to send it and I couldn't. It was on my list on things that didn't work, when I gave my computer to my Dad to fix. Now whether he fixed it or not is a different story.)
Chery
Nov 17, 2008, 12:31 PM
Oh Gawwd, I just hate Outlook. I had to use it at work so much and it downright frustrated me. And hotmail, well I had an account many years ago, and never used it after a few weeks. So, that tells you what I feel about it. I use mainly Yahoo - and the only thing that bothers me about it is that I cannot place pictures into the text - I always have to attach them.
But anyway, when writing a letter, or even a post for here, I have learned to use the plain old windows editor. It has no bells and whistles, but it does not wipe away anything I've typed so far. Just find 'notepad' in the search box in your windows menu - and there it will be. You can type, and when finished, just highlite it all and copy, then paste it into your email text area or into the AMHD answer box.. Then, you can check the spelling there.
Talk about computer frustrations, my Internet Explorer is so screwed up right now that I cannot play at least 50 of my 100 and so games and I communicate with RealArcade now almost more than with you guys trying to fix the problem. Even when I go to the directories of my games and click on the executable files - nothing happens, they just won't open up and that is really frustrating. I hate it when Windows and Internet Explorer just take over and do what they want and then you spend hours trying to find the problem and fix it. One keeps telling me I have to contact the Administrator - but I'm the Admin - it's my computer and I'm not on a darned network nor am I a server... so go figure! I will get this issue taken care of or I will re-format this thing and start all over again which will take at least 24 hours or more... but at the end, I WILL BE BOSS again. Another thing is that one day my spell checker works, and the next it does not.. again go figure! So if there are any misspelled words in here now, sorry, but I'm sure you get the message anyway.
Otherwise, how I feel, and how my past few days were - don't ask... it would take a book longer than this post right now. It's just an emotional and physical phase that I have to ride out, but I promise not to let it take too long -with your help and your emails, I'm sure I'll be better soon.
I still think of all of you, and especially Chicky and Alty and hope that you two are doing as well as you can. Thinking of you and sending you good vibes before I close down for the night every day. And Jan, darling, I hope my email got through to you love, and hope it helped a bit.
OK, now I'm closing for the night and blasting some more tunes...

Between you and Starty, you saved the day! ;)
... I can't forget our other dear inner circle girl either... her emails gave me a good laugh today too! :)

I wish there were a way to make the fonts larger on here - it's getting harder and harder for me to read the posts - guess it's time to buy magnifying glasses.
MommaC
If you go too your IE toolbar there is a "PAGE" button , click on that and then the "ZOOM" option. You can resize the fonts on that :)

Thanks for the advice my sweet, but I HATE Internet Explorer and don't use it much.. Sometimes the problem is because I don't know how to work with Java to enlarge the fonts in Java applets. but that's OK.

Hey honey, hope your head is still fastened and not too painful. Jaime's wedding reception is in the afternoon so we hope that not too many people get snockered. Really looking forward to the 22d - four days to prepare yet, thank goodness. I look so pale I might need a whole jar of make-up so as not to scare the kids.
Now I am going to log off and listen to some tunes before crashing - so, until next time...

Wow, I slept for 4 hours straight without pain. Then my legs woke me to say they needed drugs. I think that I am becoming addicted but at this stage I don't think it will do more harm than all the other crap my body is having me go through. As long as I can walk and sit for at least a few hours a day and spend time with Alex, I don't care if I fall into this category. I have not yet 'upped' my dosages, so I guess I'm still safe. It does help a lot to have my companion and a nurse come by on a regular basis but it sure makes me angry sometimes not to be in control over so much of my life - so I fall into depression. They, and you help me ride this out though, and I'm really grateful.
I found a few interesting one-liners to share and hope they also cheer some of you up too:

Hey Momma, my sweet inner circle girl! I guess I kept missing you today. I loved all of your quotes! I really laughed at the one that said... If you can't dance, don't blame the dance floor!
Are you sure I can't? I'm pretty sure it was the dance floors fault a few times! It had nothing to do with who I was dancing with, or the fact that I had had several beer (rich in vitamins I'll have you know :D) or that I had a few Tequila chasers ( Hey tekillya is all right as long as you have a lime with it, it's a serving of fruit isn't it?)
I know one time when dancing with that damn Brit, it was his and the dance floors fault. He twirled me... and just forgot to catch me! The dance floor was so darn slippery (that's my story and I'm sticking to it) that I went head long into the wall (the walls fault) and sliced my hand open on my brothers drum cases. Again, drum cases fault!
So I question your sources who gave you that quote! I bet they are floor layers, or carpenters of some sort! :D

I just love the time-difference sometimes so that I can just sneak in and right out again, just to give you a little exercise.
