    A bra at 11?
Hi guys I really need a bra. My nipples poke out of all my shirts and they are very sensitive. I am starting to develop breasts and need a bra. I am just to afraid to ask my mom. She asked me before but I said no. She hasn't asked since and I really need one. How should I ask her and what should I say? Oh... I am so scared! What if she makes fun of me PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!

Just ask her, all she can do is say no or yes, show her how your breasts are showing

Tell her what you posted here. SHOW her how your nipples poke out. Certainly that would convince her.

Why should you be scared of your mom? Why would you think your mom will make fun of you? Did she make fun when she originally asked?

Just go up to her and show her how your nipples show through your tops and tell her you think you need a bra now and when can we go shopping.

If your mom asked you before then she probably thought that you needed one. Since you said no maybe she's leaving you alone about it because she may not want to make you feel uncomfortable talking about it.

She's not going to make fun of you. She may smile but that won't be making fun--it'll be more like she'll be happy that you're acknowledging what she already knew.

Never hesitate to talk to your mom, OK?

Thanks guys. I am not scared anymore. Something came over that. I am now embarrassed. Please tell me word to word how to ask her! Thanks!

"Mom, can you please buy a bra for me?" will probably work well.

ABC please stop reporting the post to try and add more info, a report is like a "bad answer" You need to come back and actually answer your own post to add more info.
Most posters will never see what you write in a report.

Wondergirl, the poster wants to know what she should put in the note.

I suggest maybe making a copy of this thread and giving to her.

I told her what she could write. Or she could write, "Let's go out to lunch soon and while we're out, we can buy me a bra."

You're making it more difficult than it needs to be. If you don't feel comfortable asking her verbally then just take a small piece of paper, write "Mom, I think I'm ready for a bra now. Could we please go shopping for one?" and either hand it to her or put it somewhere where you know she'll see it.

Maybe if you explain to us why you have such a hard time talking to your mother we can help more. But otherwise you just keep it simple. You've been given suggestions on what to say.

I wrote can I have a bra down on a piece of paper, stuck it in an envelope, and gave it to her to open while I was at school. Three days later I walked into my room with six bras on my bed.

As a woman I have to ask - how did she know your size?

I don't know. I guess she just took a guess. But, that's okay because they fit!

I assume she knows your shirt size so that may have given her a clue.
