    Kitchen Sink Repair Problem
I have a MOEN Kitchen sink that was leaking. I took it apart, bought some replacement parts, and put it back together. Now, when I raise the handle the sprayer works (both cold and hot) but no water comes out the faucet. If I loosen the black screw-in device that conatins a plastic washer enough, water starts to flow but then the assembly is no longer flush and doesn't assemble properly. Any ideas?

    Hi Brian,

What "black screw in device"? What "plastic washer"? WHAT ASSEMBLY and flush with what?
When you bought replacement parts did you also repace the diverter, (part # Moen 1589)? Please be a little more specific with the details so I can visualize what you're attempting to tell me. Regards, Tom

    Fixed it
Sorry about not having part numbers. I went to a local plumbing supply place with the part I took out of the sink and the guy gave me a replacement. I didn't have any numbers--it was all by sight. These are all parts that are in the area above the spout.

It turned out that the white plastic washer in the black screw-in device (sorry, it's the best I can do) was in the wrong way. When I reversed it, the sink worked fine without leaking.

    Thanks for your help.
