Honda Ballade Automatic 1989. Gearbox/radiator connected? Why?
Hi I'm new on this site and know very little about cars... can't afford to get my Honda repaired, so I have to do it myself.

One question... In a Honda Ballade Automatic 1989. We need to repair the radiator but cannot remove it because two pipes are connected from the radiator to the gearbox.

Why? When I remove it oil starts leaking out. What should I do? Help!

I've never heard of a Ballade, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night...
Just kidding. The pipes you refer to are probably a tranmission cooler that 's built into the radiator tank. They provide heat exchange to keep the trans/gearbox cooler during operation. When you disconnect these pipes you'll lose a little fluid from the lines so be sure to check the fluid level when repairs are complete. Good luck!

Btw: you must live overseas from the US. Some manufacturers have different model names in different countries
