Interior musty smell when rain comes
This does not have to do with actual improvement of the home, but to a point I guess it does.

Whenever it rains I notice this musty smell in my living room and office. We used to only notice it in the office room, but now we notice it in the living/dining area too. The office and living/dining area are on the same side of the house. Could this mean I have mold?

I do notice some mold on an area of the ground outside where grass isn't growing, and it is right outside the dining area of my house.

    Please help!

Yes,it is very possible that you have a mold problem. If you have a slab house rain water could be going up against or under your house. If you have a basement look for signs of water entering house. You might be able to take off a baseboard were you have the smell and cut a small hole in the drywall to see what is in your wall
