    Question:
Could Timing Belt have jumped. It was replaced about a month and 1,000 miles ago?
On Compression Stroke what is the relationship between reluctor and pick-up at TDC?

I would appreciate any help with this problem. I'd really like to be sure all alternatives have been checked before replacing ECM. For lack of knowing what else, I plan to replace the Coil.

    Thank you for your help

Check spark plug wires--especially #2 and #4. However, odds are that the coil is bad. Bench testing coils usually proves little. Replacing the coil should solve the problem. After replacing coil, reset ECM and see if the problem is fixed. If this doesn't solve the problem, then you may have a bad CKP sensor and need to replace the distributor housing. Make sure you only use NGK spark plugs.

    Wahoo it's fixed!!

    Just some useful information.

I know hind sight is 20/20 but, I wished I'd known. A brand NEW tested and ready to go distributor can be purchased for $220.00 from Roy Rogers Foreign Car Parts. I spent @ $180 foolin with the old one. I didn't want a remanufactured one. Once you cook(heat exposure) electronics they are going to fail. Heat is the main killer of all electronics.

The Distributor I got is a Richporter Technology. No used or reman. Parts.

What lead you to suspect the distributor?
