I have an outlet on the kicten counter. We use it for all our smalller appliances
I have been replacing all the plugs as well as switches. In the house and when I opened it up I found 2 white wires 2 blacks wirers and one red. The hood above the oven is connected up with this plug. I have connected it exactly the way it was with the old plug but it always blows the fuse when I turn the power back on. When the red wire isn't connected everything works fine... what should I do with the red wire?

Sounds like two circuits, one on the black and one red. Need to check if both are hot, if so then break off the little jumper between the two brass screws.
