Extremely excessive yawning
This past 2 week has been really tramatizing. I have been stressed to the piont that I hardly eat or sleep and on top of that I have this excessive yawning problem. I've yawned so much in the past week that my jaws and throat are sore. Often times I feel like I'm not getting enough oxygen and by the end of the day I have a head ache out of this world. The past 2 or 3 days I noticed it takes me a while to remember things that I would usually know off hand. Some times I get this tightness in my chest and it hurts too. I yawn an average of 2 to 3 time every 5 to 15 minutes. I think it may be because I was hit in the head hard enough to make a half inch split not more than a half an inch away from my temple. I'm not sure if this mean anything ,however, the yawning did start a day or 2 after this incident. I'm currently not in the state that I live in and my insurance won't cover me if I have to go to the doctor; so is it necessary for me to go to the emergency room and does any one have any idea what could possibly be wrong? I really could use some advice and names of things it could possibly be at this piont in time 'cause I haven't a single clue.

The stress of the past few weeks is probably causing you vagus nerve to have increased activity, which would cause you to yawn more.

Sorry, I can't offer any advice, but in the process of reading your post I yawned like 7 times! I think it's contagious!

Allot of medications cause this side effect. Any new ones lately? And are you sure your insurance won't cover you? It sounds strange for them not to cover you out of state.

WARNING! I think you need to check some things out, like room ventilation, gas boilers, work area conditions etc. Need to make sure you are getting enough fresh air and not breathing too many traffic fumes. Go to a clean air area and do some deep breathing exercises. You brain needs more oxygen.

I would definitely recommend being checked out by a qualified neurologist, it is quite possible you have suffered a mild concussion. It would be beneficial to rule it out. Do take care.
