To Whom It May Concern:

I am in the process of remodeling my bathroom. I am putting in a soaking tub and shower. This will all be enclosed in glass. The plan is to be able to run the bath or the shower separately. How can this be accomplished? Do I get separate faucets and then join them together somehow?

I would appreciate your help as I need to order the faucets.

Sharon, go to a good hardware store or big box. They will have many shower/tub valves that will meet your needs.

I have a shower and bath, everyone I know has a shower and bath and run them separately. I can take a shower by making a small adjustment after the water is running. This system has been like available for such a long time I don't understand what you want to do if it isn't just a standard shower outlet above the tap configuration. Have you not seen this before ?

Hi Sharon,

What are we missing here? If you purchase a standard tub and shower valve with a spout with a shower diverter it would do what you're asking. But that's too simple. Please explain, in detail, what you wish to accomplish. Regards, Tom

Sharon, I think what we are both saying is you can buy shower/tub valve that looks very similar to a tub valve. The shower/tub valve usually included a spout with a pull knob to engage the shower. I'll bet Tom has some pic he can share on this topic. He's the best.
