Washer Dryer hook up in bathroom
I am installing a stacked washer/dryer in my 2nd floor bathroom. Both units are powered by a single 220 V line.

    Question:
Does the 220 hookup need to have GFI protection since it is in the bathroom? Do GFI recepticles even exist for 220 V?
Regardless, is there a height from the floor specified by code for the 220 receptacle?
    Thank you.

GFI protection is not required, thou 2 pole 120/240 volt GFI breakers are available if the added protection is desired, esp if the appliance could be touch if someone is in the bath tub. The water in washers can make them susceptible to normal intermittent ground faults that normally drain harmlessly off because of low current, but may be detectable to someone soaking wet in standing water.

The code is only a minimum and doing better is allowed.

There is no low height minimum, but no more than 6'-6" high if it is the disconnecting means.

I just inherited my sister's 8 year old washer and dryer (gas). The super came by and told us he would need to replace some of the hook-ups, for a total of $170. That seems a little bit expensive.
